This review isn't written by me it's by my boyfriend who went in earlier today. I went into the shop as a walk in today and they were very accommodating. Ingrid was able to fit me in, and I sat down and showed numerous reference photos. I didn't want a huge change, just a trim and some length off. They were friendly and chatty, but there were some major issues with the whole haircut itself. I asked for even length all the way around, keeping the back and the sides even and shortening the front a little bit. I didn't end up with anything I asked for. The front was kept long and the sides and back were much shorter than I requested/we talked about. Once the cut was done I walked out thinking a shower would help restore my curl pattern and the cut would even out more but I realized there was just too much hair gone and it was exactly opposite of what I was going for. Had to buy haircutting scissors myself and redo the entire trim at home to even it out. Overall, great service, friendly people, disappointing result. read more

Completely messed up my hair like will be wearing hats for weeks bad. I gave clear instructions saying how I wanted the top sides and back and the instructions were not followed. It was cut way too short and clearly not what I wanted. I asked the barber to add texture to the hair and he did not do that throughout the cut. If there was any miscommunication in my instructions there is a time for them to ask those questions which was not done. It's unsettling how non conversational the 2 barbers I had were. Asking them questions and getting little to no response. You are faced away from the mirror the whole cut not knowing what it looks like till the end. I would not recommend to anyone. read more

I came in like a month ago, and it was not busy. The barber named Josh. Said he could take me. So at first it went well. And more ppl started coming in. And then apparently his appointment came in. Josh told his appointment it would be min. Guy was in no rush. But Josh his whole attitude changed. He stopped talking to me. And I felt the quality of my cut was going down. Anyway, after 10 minutes he was like we done. And I looked in the mirror. It was a terrible fade. Everything was uneven. And when I went to pay. It ended up being 60 some dollars. For a rush, not good experience haircut for 60 bucks is a scam. Also all the other barbers were still cutting their original people. Anyway, be super weary about going to this place. And if josh isn't your appointment. Well good luck with a decent cut. I had to go to another barber, to have him clean me up. Because it looked soo bad. read more

Scheduled an appointment at 3 today and showed up early for my appointment. There is no one at the counter checking in reservations and other than a man yelling "are you a walk in" to which I replied "no, I have a reservation" to which I was told to take a seat. Then a random person walked up to me and said "you?" like four times as if I know what he was talking about, and walked me to a chair where there's no place to set personal belongings such as jackets (in a barber shop!). The haircut while layered correctly is uneven and I didn't even get the barbers name. He walked off to go hangout in the breakroom with his buddy and came back a good 4 mins later asking "what's up" multiple times. One customer came in yelling at my barber and he then gave up halfway through my cut and said "this is good right?". read more

Requested a walk in for our brother's first professional barber experience. Josh told us to be on time but preceded to start the hair cut 10 minutes after the appointment. Josh communicated this and it wouldn't have been an issue if Josh hadn't then rushed the rest of the haircut as soon as his next customer came in. Our brother had a lot of hair to work with and he requested a pretty straightforward haircut. The haircut was rushed and came out looking rough for the amount paid. Way too expensive for the quality you get especially if they are unable to create a decent atmosphere for a ten year olds first haircut. read more

I went in about a month ago (when I finally found a break in my tax season). My regular barber shop is closed Sundays.i called a few places and I got an appointment at Acme. Turns out, I didn't need to make a reservation. It was Sunday about 4pm and I was the only person who came in (throughout my whole cut). I was the only customer, but the barber who gave me a haircut, decided to seat me in a chair that isn't in front of a mirror.... I mean... you're a barber shop.... I literally stared at a door, and he didn't put a mirror in front of me after he finished. I was charged extra money for a skin fade when I returned home, I checked the fade. The best barbershop I've been to in Seattle! I relocated from NYC and spent over a year trying to find someone who could do a good job with both my hair and my beard. My hair is thinning and my beard is bushy, so they're not easy, but my barber Andy at Acme knocks it out of the park each time. She is patient as I describe what I want and creative in helping me figure something out that works for my hair/headshape/style. I look forward to my visits not just for the haircut but also the conversation! The one time Andy was out of town and I needed a haircut, another Acme barber did a great job. It's difficult and weird to find a new barber. You don't know them, they don't know you, etc. this joint makes that weirdness fade away. Andy has lined me up at least 4 times and I have never received so many compliments from complete strangers! This establishment is clean, awesome, and good at what they do! 10/10. EDIT: Came back for the second star. I got home and saw myself in a proper mirror. Had to shave my head bald. I'm beyond angry...total waste of $70 and I look like a fool. The only good thing to come out of this is that I learned Francisco cuts hair elsewhere, so I never have to visit Acme again. Be careful who cuts your hair. My first trip to Acme, I got Francisco. He took great care of me and was easy to work with. He knew what I wanted and delivered it. Today I returned. Unfortunately Francisco was booked so I got a random pick. I should have listened to my gut and rescheduled. The guy I got was nice enough but he butchered my mustache and cut my widow's peak back way too far. Frankly, I look stupid before a major event I have planned this weekend. I would have been better off just waiting. Buyer beware...not every barber is on the same level here. read more

The barbers are all friendly and being able to make appointments instead of having to deal with random walk in wait times is awesome. I moved to Seattle 10 months ago and have had a really hard time finding a barber. One of my clients recommended ACME. I booked a same day appointment with Gus and I'm so glad I did. Gus gave me the best cut I've ever had in Seattle! Took his time on the fade and edged the line perfectly too. He's a super chill guy and was great talking with! I literally sent a mass text to all my friends in Seattle letting them know they need to see Gus for their next cut. I'll also be recommending him to all of my clients. I hope Gus never leaves Seattle or I'd be screwed out of a good cut every month. Highly recommend Gus and ACME. I don't get it--how can the same barber, who's cut my hair perfectly five times in a row, completely fail to understand a simple request like 'cut a little more than usual,' even with his own written directions? He cut my hair way shorter than I wanted and gave me the worst haircut I've ever had. It's not even symmetrical! There's nothing I can do to salvage or style it--it's just too short! To make it worse, this happened right before the holidays, which makes it even more frustrating. read more
