I've been going to Rick at Acme Barbershop for years and highly recommend. Rick is friendly, attentive and great at what he does. 5 stars, highly recommend read more

Black women in the Capitol Hill area looking for a quality barber, check out Vinny at Acme. He did a great job on fading my sides and shaping up my 4c hair, the price was reasonable and the service was personable! I recommend making an appointment online, though they do take walk-ins as schedules allow. read more

I have been going here for 10+ years. It's a decent haircut and it's usually possible to make same day appointments. Recently I booked a same day appointment in the late morning, and had a flare of severe back pain a few hours later. Any sitting is causing severe back spasm. I called the shop to cancel the appointment and explain the situation. They explained that they would have to charge the full amount because it's less than 12 hours before the appointment time. They said they "it's shop policy and there's nothing I can do". Very disappointing. Won't be going back. read more

Josh is a great guy! I took my husband to him- recommended by a co worker. He pays attention to detail, fun to chat with and I like his energy. I find sometimes as a woman I get judged at a barbershop and Josh makes me feel so welcomed. Thank you for a great, consistent experience and being a good man! read more

Excellent, consistent quality and customer service from Ingrid. 100% would recommend.

Rick Abrams is the best there is and has been cutting my hair for the last three years. I went to several barbers around Seattle before meeting Rick and nobody comes close. I have never left with a bad haircut, and he's a standout guy all around. I couldn't recommend him enough! read more

Recommended to me by a friend maybe 6 months ago because my regular stylist/barber was out of town. HIs hair always looks fantastic. So I booked that afternoon with his guy and I now come in here every other week to see Josh. He's great at line work and my fade (if I decide to get one) is always spot-on....people compliment my hair all of the time. Plus he is sweet and funny as hell. Cool vibes in the shop too. The music is always good and the rest of the staff is also great. read more

Rick Abrams is top notch! Highly recommend. 5/5 cut every time and the barbershop is always clean.

This review isn't written by me it's by my boyfriend who went in earlier today. I went into the shop as a walk in today and they were very accommodating. Ingrid was able to fit me in, and I sat down and showed numerous reference photos. I didn't want a huge change, just a trim and some length off. They were friendly and chatty, but there were some major issues with the whole haircut itself. I asked for even length all the way around, keeping the back and the sides even and shortening the front a little bit. I didn't end up with anything I asked for. The front was kept long and the sides and back were much shorter than I requested/we talked about. Once the cut was done I walked out thinking a shower would help restore my curl pattern and the cut would even out more but I realized there was just too much hair gone and it was exactly opposite of what I was going for. Had to buy haircutting scissors myself and redo the entire trim at home to even it out. Overall, great service, friendly people, disappointing result. read more

Completely messed up my hair like will be wearing hats for weeks bad. I gave clear instructions saying how I wanted the top sides and back and the instructions were not followed. It was cut way too short and clearly not what I wanted. I asked the barber to add texture to the hair and he did not do that throughout the cut. If there was any miscommunication in my instructions there is a time for them to ask those questions which was not done. It's unsettling how non conversational the 2 barbers I had were. Asking them questions and getting little to no response. You are faced away from the mirror the whole cut not knowing what it looks like till the end. I would not recommend to anyone. read more

I've been coming to Josh for about two years. Best haircut ever. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Definitely the best spot in Capitol Hill.

Been coming to Acme since arriving in Seattle last year. The vibe is always chill and my guy Josh is stellar at each of the styles we've been working towards. His attention to detail and skill at fade is something I recommend to anyone and everyone when I hear they're looking for a new barber. Five outta five. read more

I'm new to Seattle, so I was struggling to find a good place for a haircut. I ended up going to Vinny, great guy and an awesome barber. The trim was perfect, and he even gave me some great recommendations for places to visit around the city. If you're looking for a haircut, definitely check him out. read more

I came in like a month ago, and it was not busy. The barber named Josh. Said he could take me. So at first it went well. And more ppl started coming in. And then apparently his appointment came in. Josh told his appointment it would be min. Guy was in no rush. But Josh his whole attitude changed. He stopped talking to me. And I felt the quality of my cut was going down. Anyway, after 10 minutes he was like we done. And I looked in the mirror. It was a terrible fade. Everything was uneven. And when I went to pay. It ended up being 60 some dollars. For a rush, not good experience haircut for 60 bucks is a scam. Also all the other barbers were still cutting their original people. Anyway, be super weary about going to this place. And if josh isn't your appointment. Well good luck with a decent cut. I had to go to another barber, to have him clean me up. Because it looked soo bad. read more

Scheduled an appointment at 3 today and showed up early for my appointment. There is no one at the counter checking in reservations and other than a man yelling "are you a walk in" to which I replied "no, I have a reservation" to which I was told to take a seat. Then a random person walked up to me and said "you?" like four times as if I know what he was talking about, and walked me to a chair where there's no place to set personal belongings such as jackets (in a barber shop!). The haircut while layered correctly is uneven and I didn't even get the barbers name. He walked off to go hangout in the breakroom with his buddy and came back a good 4 mins later asking "what's up" multiple times. One customer came in yelling at my barber and he then gave up halfway through my cut and said "this is good right?". read more

Was recommended to Acme by my previous stylist and booked an appointment with Josh, last-min. Got a low fade, clean, friendly and professional - he knows what he's doing and is willing to talk you through your design goals. Would come back! read more

This place is great, good vibes and talented folks. Rick is my regular barber, he's got an eye for detail and remembers what cut works best for me. Highly recommend him for solid cuts! read more

Josh took a double walk in and two great haircuts in record time! Friendly and great service!

Highly highly recommend Vinny, he gives the freshest cuts and is a dope guy. Have been going to him for over 3 years, top-notch every single time. I'm unfortunately moving out of Seattle soon, and hope my next barber is half as good as Vinny read more

Charles gave me the cleanest cut just before my trip to EDC Cut so clean it got me pulled into a random booth. Thanks again Charles! read more

I went in about a month ago (when I finally found a break in my tax season). My regular barber shop is closed Sundays.i called a few places and I got an appointment at Acme. Turns out, I didn't need to make a reservation. It was Sunday about 4pm and I was the only person who came in (throughout my whole cut). I was the only customer, but the barber who gave me a haircut, decided to seat me in a chair that isn't in front of a mirror.... I mean... you're a barber shop.... I literally stared at a door, and he didn't put a mirror in front of me after he finished. I was charged extra money for a skin fade when I returned home, I checked the fade. There's obvious lines all over my head...hopefully the other bar sets are still parking with them in the future read more

I highly recommend Josh. Since coming in as a walk-in over a year ago, I have gone to him every time as he gives the most consistently good haircuts I've had in recent years. Josh takes a lot of care in his work, has good suggestions, and is great to talk to. read more

I'm here from out of town need my haircut for my daughters wedding. I come across Acme barbershop and make an appointment and Josh is my barber. I explain to him I wanted to look my best for the wedding, and he went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable with my haircut and shave. Great job. Thank you, Josh. read more

Vinny cares a lot about his craft and cut one of the smoothest, precise tapers I've ever had. He has a great understanding of a variety of hair types and won't disappoint. read more

I'm new to the area and I feel right at home at this barbershop because of Josh! I come out of the chair feeling fresh and clean. The hair wash is a game changer forsure. Been getting a haircut here for over six months now and I keep coming back :) read more

ANDY is a dope barber! My friend is a black man and was going to a black barber in Everett who did not do a good job on his hair...I reached out to Andy to see if she has experience doing black men's hair, she said she did so we decided to give her a try and my friend who has high standards was SO happy with his cut! He was very impressed. He does not live in WA but I know if he needs a barber while visiting, he will 100% be going to Andy. Thank you, Andy for a job well done and an overall very pleasant experience! read more

Requested a walk in for our brother's first professional barber experience. Josh told us to be on time but preceded to start the hair cut 10 minutes after the appointment. Josh communicated this and it wouldn't have been an issue if Josh hadn't then rushed the rest of the haircut as soon as his next customer came in. Our brother had a lot of hair to work with and he requested a pretty straightforward haircut. The haircut was rushed and came out looking rough for the amount paid. Way too expensive for the quality you get especially if they are unable to create a decent atmosphere for a ten year olds first haircut. read more

Walked by one day and had to check it out! Booked a straight razor head shave and got Josh. He did a great job and made sure to change blades several times. So clean, I shaved a five seconds off my 100 yard dash ;) I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in town. read more

Worked with Vinny, he skipped lunch so he could fit me in as a walk in before my birthday party. I was nervous having a new barber but he did an amazing job! read more

EDIT: Came back for the second star. I got home and saw myself in a proper mirror. Had to shave my head bald. I'm beyond angry...total waste of $70 and I look like a fool. The only good thing to come out of this is that I learned Francisco cuts hair elsewhere, so I never have to visit Acme again. Be careful who cuts your hair. My first trip to Acme, I got Francisco. He took great care of me and was easy to work with. He knew what I wanted and delivered it. Today I returned. Unfortunately Francisco was booked so I got a random pick. I should have listened to my gut and rescheduled. The guy I got was nice enough but he butchered my mustache and cut my widow's peak back way too far. Frankly, I look stupid before a major event I have planned this weekend. I would have been better off just waiting. Buyer beware...not every barber is on the same level here. read more

The best barbershop I've been to in Seattle! I relocated from NYC and spent over a year trying to find someone who could do a good job with both my hair and my beard. My hair is thinning and my beard is bushy, so they're not easy, but my barber Andy at Acme knocks it out of the park each time. She is patient as I describe what I want and creative in helping me figure something out that works for my hair/headshape/style. I look forward to my visits not just for the haircut but also the conversation! The one time Andy was out of town and I needed a haircut, another Acme barber did a great job. Location, hours, booking system ease - very grateful for Acme! read more

It's difficult and weird to find a new barber. You don't know them, they don't know you, etc. this joint makes that weirdness fade away. Andy has lined me up at least 4 times and I have never received so many compliments from complete strangers! This establishment is clean, awesome, and good at what they do! 10/10. If you need to get lined up save yourself some headache and just go to Acme. Bonus points if you ask for Andy! You won't regret it!! read more

I have been a customer at Acme for about 14 years and have always received the best service. The barbers are all friendly and being able to make appointments instead of having to deal with random walk in wait times is awesome. The prices aren't the cheapest in Seattle but the barber services provided are 100% worth the price - I can't say enough good stuff about the staff at Acme! read more

I am from another state, but travel to Seattle often. I always make time to have my hair cut scheduled with Moe. The perfect cut sets the stage for touch ups in between visits. The quality and vibe at Acme is like no other for this traveler. read more

Josh is the man! His cuts are top notch and the experience is fun! He was able to fit me last minute and stayed late to make sure I looked good!! Hard to find quality cuts and great customer service these days so a big thank you!! read more

I moved to Seattle 10 months ago and have had a really hard time finding a barber. One of my clients recommended ACME. I booked a same day appointment with Gus and I'm so glad I did. Gus gave me the best cut I've ever had in Seattle! Took his time on the fade and edged the line perfectly too. He's a super chill guy and was great talking with! I literally sent a mass text to all my friends in Seattle letting them know they need to see Gus for their next cut. I'll also be recommending him to all of my clients. I hope Gus never leaves Seattle or I'd be screwed out of a good cut every month. Highly recommend Gus and ACME. Keep in mind parking sucks so allow yourself extra time to find parking or just walk. read more
