While the haircut was okay, the barber used offensive language multiple times throughout the session. He referred to things as "gay" and "retarded". This might be okay to some, but for those that might be looking for a safe space or want to support establishments that create them, Dexter Ave is not the place for you. read more

Ten stars. I gave myself a bad haircut (oops) and needed it fixed, so my wife booked me at Dexter Ave, which is right down the street from us. I like the mid century, 50's style haircuts and it's sometimes hard to get it done right. but Kevin at Dexter Ave was perfect. He instantly understood what was needed. He didn't talk my ear off and ask a ton of questions like some barbers do, he just gave me a great haircut with no BS. On our way out, he complimented me on my Smiths T-shirt! I love this guy. Kevin, the owner of this shop, is a genius. He has cut my hair since 2011 and I wouldn't dream of going elsewhere. He is meticulous with his work, which tells me he loves what he does. He's always in great mood and very upbeat. He's always able to interpret my gibberish and turn it into exactly what I wanted. Best haircuts ever. I mean, how many barbers can say that people stop their clients to compliment them on their fade and ask who did it?! And he hand picks his staff so that he can ensure they will deliver the level of service and quality of cut that he expects. GO SEE THEM! you won't regret it. read more

Keven is a great barber, however, they are not requiring patrons to wear masks. COVID cases are increasing and in no way should anyone have to sit in a small room with multiple people not wearing one. Take responsibility for the health of your patrons and yourselves more seriously. read more

Got one haircut here previously by the same kid, was good enough first time around so I figured why not walk in again. Terrible mistake!!! I've been growing my hair out for a few months and this guy ruined it with one visit. I asked for a high fade with a 1 on the sides and got what looks like a taper with a 3. The cut is so uneven on both sides I look like I have Down syndrome. Long story short you get what you pay for I'll go back to rainier beach for a skin tight fade from Jamil at JStylez or my dawg Eric at Squire for the clipper work. I appreciate they take walk ins but this haircut is so trash I wouldn't even accept it if it was free. Do yourself and look elsewhere. These guys are decent for doing run of the mill avg looking Amazon white guy haircuts. Haven't seen any super impressive fades or clipper work yet. read more

Maureen is such a gem! I always ask barbers to use scissors rather than clippers because it makes my hair less frizzy, and Maureen keeps it real every time! Convenient location, comfy chairs, not too expensive for a solid haircut...I'm a fan and will be back. read more

Worst service ever!!! Staff is very unprofessional. I made a 5:15pm appointment online and arrived on time. The guy whom I made appointment with told me to wait as he was with another customer. I waited for half an hour and he was still busy. I left without haircut. They didn't even have the courtesy to apologize. I recommend never to go there. Hannah is without a doubt one of the best, if not the best barber I have ever come across. When I lived in Seattle, I tried all over the place (Squire, Head Shop, Acme, and a few others). All of those places had above average to excellent barbers, but Hannah is in a class of her own. Her attention to detail is out of this world. Great new barbershop with great barbers and comfortable chairs! I've been seeing Nick, and he's a true haircut artist. The heated moist towel and steamed shaves are very relaxing, and I love that you get a rinse after your haircut. So that you're not left with your face and head covered with hair trimmings. If you're in the market for a topnotch men's cut/knowledge staff who understand men's hair - highly recommend this shop. With little instruction, my stylist (Maureen) knew exactly what I envisioned for my cut (excellent end result!). Both Maureen and the shop owner were extremely friendly/welcoming, which was especially nice as I'm new to Seattle. I've tried most of the highest rated barbers in the seattle area in the under $50 haircut range and I can easily say Kevin is the absolute finest. His attention to detail is impeccable. He includes a razor lineup with his cuts which most "barbers" don't anymore. And to top it off he is super friendly and a good person. I went in to get my haircut and was greeted by the owner, Kevin. He's super nice and has a really clean salon. I love the white barber chairs! Maureen was the one to cut my hair and she did an excellent job! She's super friendly and funny. It was all together a great experience. I went back in a few days later to have Maureen give me a hot shave. It was another wonderful experience, very relaxing and therapeutic; I felt pampered :) I think these guys are a new shop so you should definitely go down and give them a visit and welcome them to the neighborhood. read more
