Got an appointment as new client the next day and checkin was smooth and on time. Tiffany asked what I needed and got to business. We chatted about other things, while she cut my hair very well! I was happy with the end result . The ambience and temperature of the place was perfect and it was welcoming. The $ was not cheap, but within my expected range of about $75. Jax Barbara is located in a place where parking is tough and heavy construction bottles up traffic. Was walking into my appointment which was scheduled for 10 AM and it was 10:11am and the appointment was canceled and charged for no show while I standing in the doorway with eye contact with provider. I had a receipt for the no-show charge before hanging up the phone. Services are good but very expensive and the staff is apparently not looking for new clients or retaining ones with this kind of treatment. read more

I came here almost exclusively for the three years while I lived in Seattle. On the few occasions I had to go elsewhere due to work travel, lack of appointments, or you know - 2020 COVID, I can tell you that every single time it did not live up to the absolutely flawless work that is done here. It may be a little more expensive than some options, but it actually great value when you factor in the downtown location and the quality of the work. I came to get a high taper fade with a 3 at the top and skin at the bottom. The lady cutting my hair start messing up my hair cut around the ear she went skin. I point it out to her and she said she is sorry she doesn't know how to do a taper cut so I told her it's cool let's turn it to a low fade since she had already messed it up. She ask me if I want a line up and I said no but she goes ahead and still tries to line me up but I tell her to stop. So she proceeds to cutting my hair and tells me that she is done. And I can see a whole bunch of stragglers poking out so I tell her to give me the clippers and I'll cut out all the stragglers. I ask her to let me see how the fade turned out from the back it's not even a fade, I don't even know what to call it. First time, I went to Jax, I had Caroline who probably gave me one of the best haircuts I have gotten ever honestly. I went again today with another stylist and it was probably one of the worst experiences I have had. I had an appointment for 6:15 for haircut and eyebrows wax. I arrived at 6:18 due to heavy rain and she said we couldn't do eyebrows since it closed at 7 which I said it was fine. I told her I just wanted a trim and she said that's great and said we might be able to do the wax, I was like great. She finished the haircut in what seemed like a hurry without shampoo and honestly, the back of my hair looks funky now that I am home and looking at it. I wore a hat there so without water, probably not the best condition to cut and I pointed that out to her as well. I paid and looked at the clock and it was 6:37 and she didn't give me shampoo or the wax because it was closing. What is the point of having a 6:15 appointment when you can't even spend 30 minutes on a haircut? Like I am so confused. Thanks for the response I installed the app after having hard times with your reception. I launched it in 2 months. It asked me for a password. I don't remember. I tried to login with facebook. It says my email is already registered so I need to restore the account. OK, I click restore, this thing asks for my email... You have it already!! I decided to create a new account. The app started demanding all these 1 upper case 1 low case 1 number stupid things. I gave up. The point is, this is a simple barber shop appointment, if I call you, will you verify my identity with security questions and SSN? Probably not, because nobody has any incentive to call you on my behalf. Now, you try to implement this login stuff as if it is online banking, and in very user unfriendly manner. Got my first cut here with Caroline and first of all, SO NICE! I booked my appointment literally 5 minutes in advance and showed up 5 minutes late and she was completely cool with it. Now I'm not picky with my haircuts and I just get a buzz cut, that being said I've still found people who can screw it and and she definitely delivered. You pay a little more with Jax than a cut of the mill barber shop but you get what you pay for.
