Do not purchase this elevator for your apartment building. Poor customer service and follow through. Limited motivation to fix issues, and ignores problems. Constantly experience down elevators, near weekly with days/weeks to repair. Very loud ding noise that is above a normal audible range, and there is a refusal to adjust it. Slow doors closing/opening and movement between floors. Avoid. read more

They take care of our elevators since at least 2004 and to be honest, they get them working, eventually, even though they have the same problem/issue. They have to go very far away to get a replacement part, a part that I'd think they should have on hand, since there should be a record of the issue that we are having. But, although they can be frustrating. I don't know if they are the issue, or the company calling them is the issue. There seems to be a lack of communication, but again, I don't know if it's them or the company working with them. I also wonder if the issue is that we are a small housing association and they are choosing to focus on the multi-million dollar buildings in the city. Is that why they come to our association after hours, for an "extra fee"? Or is it because they were called late. There was even some talk about us getting new elevators but we've held off because we're not sure about the service. They get three stars because although I'm not super pleased with them and I realize that it may not be totally their fault. But if we can find another company, I'd be willing to give them an opportunity to show them what they can do and show us that they would treat us equally to those with deep pockets whose elevators they service in the city. read more

We had a contract with ThyssenKrupp which included quarterly service and basic maintenance. When we received a failed inspection of our elevator from the state, we realized that our elevator had not been serviced since July of 2023. We could not get them to come and fix the issues the state recognized. (We tried for 7 months to get the issues addressed.) ThyssenKrupp would not refund our payments, even though they did not fulfill their end of the contract. Our phone lines needed to be reprogrammed, so they weren't even on stand-by for any emergency phone calls from our elevator or lift. This is not an honorable company. Do not sign a contract with them. read more

Yeah so if your building contracts with TK, try to get that changed ASAP. I've been living in a building that uses TK for servicing and they pretty much have failed to keep the elevator in working order for the majority of the last 3 years I've been there. They never send technicians out in a timely manner, and when they do, they lie about fixing the elevator. They also have insane weekend overcharge rates. And if you're looking to buy in a building with an elevator- definitely ask if it is a TK serviced elevator and understand that if your HOA is unwilling to contract with literally anyone else, then you pretty much will not be living in a building with a working elevator. Every other review on this page is spot on- don't be fooled!! read more

Wow, All I can say do not use this company. What are their technicians came into my work, verbally assaulted one of our disabled clients, Three workers had intervened and kicked the guy out. I let the company know, he said it's in another technician. I said hell no we're not working with you guys. They said we couldn't break our contract or they to us.... However they were so incompetent they couldn't even produce a contract. read more

This company is contracted to manage our building's elevator and they are terrible. The elevator only works half the time and they take multiple days to come out and fix the issue only for it to reoccur. It's gotten to the point I never go into the elevator without my phone in case it stops working while I'm inside it. I've never even thought about elevator companies before this. This one is the worst I've encountered in my life. Avoid! read more

My HOA uses this. Every time they come and the next few days it works and breaks again. Also every time they come they charge overtime. They literally Mint money from your HOA dollars. So, Use them with caution. read more

Can't say enough about bad service, slow service, and no service from TK Elevator. After 30 years of commercial property management, I recommend ANY other elevator company. read more

Terrible customer service. Zero follow up. We have been waiting for this company to fix a simple lock on an access panel inside an elevator cab for two months. This is not even a mechanical or electronic repair. It's a very simple repair, but our building is not secure until TK fixes this problem Amazing that this company cannot handle a simple service request like this. read more

Can't believe I have to even give one star! This company is a joke they don't care or even great any urgency. So say and pathetic!

Absolute trash!!! They over charge and don't show up. They don't fix the elevator or even tell me what they did. They don't check in. It's just "hey we were here pay us okay bye." If you dispute the invoice they just shut down your service. Elevator thugs! Just did review of KONE. If you need elevators go to them. Ask for Jose in their office. Otis is horrible but they're even better than thyssenkrupp. Avoid Star Elevator too. Nice people but don't have enough tech support on most equipment. read more

I have been working as a facilities coordinator for a few years and have a contract with this company where it is specified that they have to come and maintain the elevator on a regular basis. They have never come and we pay them every 3 months for this service and others more specified in the contract and when we call them cuz the elevator is out of service they send a technician who simply comes for 15 minutes to restart the system and they send me the invoice for a service included in the contract that is free of charge we are trying to solve this problem but It seems that in that company the staff is not qualified to solve problems and apart from that I want to contact other directors of the company and most of them no longer work there so you can contact no one but the only person who does not know how to solve these situations. I am totally disappointed and upset by this abuse and the company's lack of interest in solving these problems. I am definitely looking for a new company to perform the maintenance service for the elevator. I do not recommend this company at all read more

This Company blows MAJOR GOATS they are very unreliable and untrustworthy most of their technicians will lie about what they are able to fix because they dont have a specific part and when they tell us " well have to order that part " that is the good bye for a few months excuse you will hear from them.Dont ever EVER call them in to do a service on OVERTIME because you will pay thousands of $ and they will give you great excuses again as to why it can't be fixed that day while you just authorized them to come over and ACT like they tried to troubleshoot and rectify the issue. I dont know how they stay in business. They do have 1 honest technician and thankfully he is the only one that can be straight with us.good luck j. read more

As others have stated ThyssenKrupp is contracted to manage the service for the elevator at the company I work for. Due to a planned power outage PG&E has been completing this past week one of the residents got stuck in the elevator. The desk clerk called the fire department and they got the resident out but the elevator is not working and all wopped now. I called to have a technician come out for service and had to call back for a follow-up. They said "...Oh he came but left! He couldn't complete the repair by himself so he'll have to return with a team." And he couldn't tell us that before he left? Damn! It's now the next day with no elevator and disabled residents still stuck in their apartments. I call and they say they're trying to locate a team. The next day, I call again and they still have no update as to when the tech and the team will arrive. Another day, I call and a lady says "...We'll actually have to get a quote over to you before we can send the team out." As mad as I was, I politely asked her "When we spoke three to four days ago did you not know you needed to send me a quote before they would come back on site?" when I totally wanted to say something else. She told me no that she received that information from the technician. Now I'm furious because he knew damn well he needed a team which would cause for the quote to be needed. So I asked if I could file a complaint on the technician and to not send him back to my property. We cannot afford to be dealing with ignorance. She tells me she will try to get the quote out to me ASAP. TWO DAYS LATER I receive the quote, have it signed and my supervisor returned it. Do you think a technician was dispatched that day or the next? HELL NO!!! When they finally arrived they got the elevator back up and running but stated they would come back to repair the door jam. I feel like everything should have been completed that day. They told me that if someone gets stuck in the elevator that they should be called first and not the fire department to prevent such damage. If they think residents are going to wait days to be removed from the elevator they should think again. We have a contract with them and there is no urgency on repairs when we have people who cannot walk so how can I feel like they will be out within minutes if someone is stuck. Make it make sense! If I was in charge of the billing I would be asking for a discount based on the wait. Makes me want to treat elevator techs like they treat the parking patrol in Philly when they're seen on the street. This company sucks!! read more

Wow nice cool great. Got trapped in an elevator because it sucks. Keep sucking or whatever. I'm not mad just disappointed :'( this does not slap read more

- 10 stars... They came and fixed elevator..... At least this time it worked for 2 hours before breaking down again. They said they did what they said they would do and wants to be paid for their service. Thyssen is K-rupped! Beware of them. I have videos if you want to see them. read more

Our building association has a contract with this company and we should have looked at the reviews before signing our contract last year. They miss the required monthly fire safety checks about 50% of the time, they are expensive and it took 2 months for anyone to get back to me the past 2 inquiries I submitted to failed service. If that isn't horrible customer service I don't know what is! Do Not Use this company! read more

If you have a TK Elevator in your building then it is already too late for you. You should just go ahead and move. I'm not lying. There is nothing you can do after the fact. If you are a developer definately do not go with TK. What you saved on the front end will be made up with the elevator going out of service every other week and incompetence from the service department. In one year my elevator has gone out 7 times, 4 of which are in the last 2 months. I have tried to get an answer as to why the elevator goes out of service so much but I've been ignored. My tenants are reporting me to every building department they can find and threatening legal action even though I have done everything I can to get this company to do their jobs. I'm at a loss of how to keep working with them. This company is so horrible at everything they do. You are not going to be happy with an aspect of working with TK. read more

DO NOT install a residential Thyssen Krupp elevator in your home. Nothing but aggravation and big $$$. They do not stand by their repairs.

I live in a building that opened to its first tenants in November 2013. Guessing liberally, the elevator has worked 40% of the time we've lived here, early December. There are two parking levels and eight floors of apartments. If ThyssenKrupp hasn't been able to repair the elevator by now, after MANY weekly calls due to it not working, it's a lemon and should be replaced, yet they keep replacing parts and providing excuses. There is a running joke on our resident Facebook page about ThyssenKrupp, and you would be wise to avoid the same situation if you are looking for an elevator company. It would have been easier to replace the entire elevator by this point. read more
