We have had an extremely poor experience with TK Elevator Honolulu and do not plan to continue our contract once it expires. Our main concerns are poor communication, lack of follow-through, weak troubleshooting, and a consistent failure to take ownership of recurring elevator issues. Based on our experience, TK Elevator Honolulu does not meaningfully investigate problems until after attempting to shift responsibility to other parties. We have records showing multiple unresolved incidents, including nine work orders where the resolution was left as "N/A." When we pressed for answers, TK Elevator Honolulu first pointed to HECO. HECO came out and stated the issue was not on their end. Only after that did TK Elevator Honolulu identify a corroded part as the problem. We then waited approximately two weeks for the replacement part to arrive. During that time, we asked what caused the corrosion, but TK Elevator Honolulu did not provide an answer. After the part was installed at a cost of roughly $7,000, we were then told the underlying issue was low voltage causing the corrosion and that we needed to contact an electrician. By that point, more than one month had passed since the elevator problems became persistent enough that TK Elevator Honolulu stopped marking incident resolutions as "N/A" on work orders. That timeline is unacceptable for a critical building system. We contacted an electrician, who reached out to TK Elevator Honolulu for clarification. After 48 hours, there was still no response. This reflects a broader pattern: delayed diagnosis, poor coordination, limited transparency, and no clear sense of urgency. Their technicians have also not been able to confidently communicate repair status to the AOAO president while on site, and updates to property management and the AOAO board have been inadequate. We have also learned that TK Elevator Honolulu only keeps records for three years. This makes it difficult to track long-term recurring issues unless property management or the AOAO independently maintains and requests those records. For an elevator maintenance company, this level of service is unacceptable. In our experience, TK Elevator Honolulu does not provide comprehensive preventive maintenance, does not communicate effectively, and does not handle unresolved issues with the accountability required for a building elevator system. We cannot recommend them. read more

They replaced our elevator in October. It took 7 weeks. Then it took another two months to finish the inside of the lift. It has broken down three times since and has been down on the average of 3 days each. So, on a maintenance contract requiring 24 response time, brand new elevator, broke down garbage install apparently, we get to keep using the stairs. Most of us in our condo are over 60 with many well older. Four stories, eight flights of stairs, not easy for many and virtually impossible for some. Personally, it's disgusting a business can operate like they do. read more

Thyssenkrupp is the worse elevator company I ever had to deal with. I would give them zero stars if that was possible. Their service is so bad and their elevators constantly break down and they don't have parts to fix it. Don't cheap out and use this company use Otis. read more

Calling all gyms, obese ppl wanting 2 lose weight and the like.....thyssenkrupp is the company u want! They'll make sure that they drag out the work they claiming to do, give u the runaround, and put ur elevators out of service for weeks/months at a time...and very frequently too. I never been in any facility that had their elevators out of service for so long in my life!!! The building I live in thyssenkrupp is contracted to fix/maintain. Well they "service" the elevators which outs it out of commission for about a week claiming they're changing cables, etc...then about a month later the elevator craps out and they claim they need to change the cables....wth were they doing the 1st time then?!and of course it's gonna take AT LEAST a week to order.....then another week to wait for it to come in.....then maybe about 3 days for them to fix the problem. ....all amounting to about a month of taking the stairs in my building....and this "unfortunate" yet unnecessary inconvenience(due to half passed piss poor services) happens about 4-5 times a year in my building. I feel bad for the tenants living up on the higher floors. Anyways to reframe: I lost about 3lbs of blubber during this irritating inconvenience and I'm sure alot of the other tenants did tooso thank thyssenkrupp for helping some of the lazy/fat/outta shape people in my building to get some physical activity. It wasnt/isn't worth the cost of the pain in the ass though. For the future: the company's honesty, good quality, prompt services would be greatly appreciated....exactly the opposite of what it is nownow if only the ignorant naive board members would wise up and hire good quality workers and not waste my monthly maintenance fee...... read more

I've been a building manager for over 20 years and I have worked with this company for most of that time. They use to be a great company. A technician would come out monthly and perform maintenance. When the state would inspect the elevators there would be only minor issues to address, and it would be fixed in a timely manner. But in the past few years that has all changed. Now this company is severely undermanned and unresponsive. It has taken them nearly 2 years to fix a small number of issues in order to pass a simple state inspection. 2 YEARS to do something that should have only taken a week. This is how undermanned they are. When my employers renewed the contract, as part of the deal they were promised new elevator door sensors and new emergency phones. The contract stated that the work would be completed within 90 days of approval. It took them almost 2 years to actually do it. The actual time needed to do the job was only 3 days. I had to threaten them with litigation just to get to do the work. Another major issue is how no one ever returns my calls or emails. I just emailed and called three different individuals in the company about our next elevator inspection and about the status. Days later and no response. This is not the first time. In fact this has happened nearly every single time I needed to speak to someone. Only way to get someone to respond is get angry and demand to speak to their boss - and they won't let me do it! I don't even know who is in charge because no one will tell me! But they will finally respond -which tells me that they are getting my emails and messages and choose to ignore them for as long as they can. The biggest problem I see is how the elevator technician in my area is overworked. He's a great technician but he is spread too thin. He doesn't even have time to do preventative maintenance as is required. There simply isn't enough manpower anymore. They struggle to send anyone out to fix our elevators when there is a problem. Unfortunately my employers signed a 10 year contract so they're stuck with them for a few years. Dealing with this kind of nonsense is my job. But my employers have been loyal customers to this company for years and they don't deserve to be treated like they're unimportant. Thyssen was once a valuable asset, but now they've become a liability. read more

Been with ThyssenKrupp Elevators for about a year now and the service is the greatest!!! We have a service technician name Doug that not only has the best attitude, friendly as well. He is able to pin point the problems right away. Cant ask for better service. Very little down time thanks to Doug. Can't thank him enough! Thank you Doug! read more

Living at the Park at Pearlridge, Building A. They are in the process of changing over to new elevators. All the tenants were excited. But they finished one elevator and already it has broken more times in the month it has been in use then the old elevator broke in a year. I think they have no idea what they are doing. It is an absolute pain to have to walk down and up from the top floors. read more
