I had to find a new venue for my annual model car show, that used to be at the Ala Moana Hotel, but I had to change it due to a scheduling conflict this year. One of my biggest concerns was getting tables for the show in an empty school cafeteria, and since it's always on a Sunday, that would mean either a full two-three day rental, which I couldn't afford, or, to find a company that would deliver it and pick up the tables on Saturday, and pick them up on Monday, at a great price (I needed 18 eight foot tables, and I lived down a narrow lane). Ryan and the guys at Hawaiian Rental came through big time! Everything went so smoothly, the deliver guys were fantastic, and everything worked as planned. We rented a generator from them a couple of years ago. It was in great condition and it was easy to rent from them. 5 stars for service and rental items. They also have a HUGE range of items at a good price. The 1 star is for the horrible signs outside their business that they subject the community to. The signs used to be witty and fun but now they are sexist, rude, low key right wing, and not funny or related to any of their products. Hundreds of people and Mo'ili'ili commuters are stuck driving by their stupid sign every day. Please just advertise your business or have someone post taglines that are actually funny instead of cringe or offensive. read more

These guys are solid! Paki, Daniel & Josh took good care of us. The pressure washer we rented worked great, didn't break the bank and the entire process went seamlessly. "Do I buy or rent equipment? In McCully-just look for da sign of da times" They've been there for just about forever. Hawaiian Rent-all is noted for their whimsical signs that everyone enjoys reading. During these pandemic times, the signage has taken on a more editorial feel, the more recent ones dealing with the lockdown. But least we forget, Hawaiian Rent-All has all sorts of equipment for rent. From smaller hand implements to larger heavy duty commercial grade equipment- it's perfect when you need equipment to finish a job that you won't need to use after that, anytime soon. Hey you can even rent a bob cat excavator if you so desire. This is also a perfect opportunity to try out some equipment before spending your hard earned cash on something you find out later was not what you expected. They do equipment rentals, party rentals and even have used equipment for sale. Need to use equipment but don't want to buy? Hawaiian Rent-All is definitely a place to check out. read more

Rusty equipment that doesn't even work. Paid $100 for a hand truck that was all rusty. The wheels were down to the plastic. Horrible, get new equipment and if not new, at least decent. I've driven past this clever sign place hundreds of times but never knew exactly what they rented until this past weekend. I needed to move a freezer from my friend's house to my house and thought I needed a ramp and hand truck to roll that thing into my SUV, but it was actually cheaper to just rent the cargo van for 4 hours. I got the job done in under an hour. Sure I could have rented the same type of vehicle from one of the larger car rental agencies but they are at the airport and inconvenient. I called Hawaiian Rent-All on Black Friday and walked in a few minutes later, picked up the van and was on my way. This place sits on the corner of McCully and Beretania, right across from KFC and they have vacuums, large grills, chainsaws, diggers, cargo vans, juice jugs, large equipment to move and scrape things...all kinds of interesting things. I asked who is the clever person who comes up with the captions on the signs and he said it was the owner. Keep it up, I look forward to reading it every time I pass that corner. read more

Anytime we ride past the store, it's always fun to see what the sign says. The signs are funny, witty, and just gives you a quick peek into the heart of the business. You need power tools, they've got it. You need lawn equipment, they've got it. You need a construction equipment, they've got it. They staff is helpful and friendly and their prices are reasonable. Hubs did a one-day rental for a blade weed whacker, and it was so reasonable. If you don't need to buy the equipment, try renting it from Hawaiian Rent-All. read more

Bad attitude from the customer service/Sales people. Couldn't even bother to answer simple questions and explain. Instead he just kept cutting me off and saying "we don't have what you need" I'm sorry what equipment rental company doesn't have a paint sprayer that handles oil base paint?!? Great experience! I needed a furniture dolly to move 2 sofas. Went in one day ahead to make sure they had one. Sure enough, in stock! Best rentals in the Islands. Always have good equipment and they are friendly and support their community

Fantastic experience. Couldn't have been easier. I went to the location in Honolulu on Beretania St. Ryan held the machine for me until I could get there to pick it up (they had only 1 upholstery cleaner at the time). The process of picking it up and returning couldn't be easier. You pull in from the main road into an alley beside the building, they have signs clearly marked telling you where to park, one of the guys brings it out to your car, you go in to sign paperwork which takes just a few minutes and away you go. Returning is just as easy and quick. Everyone I encountered was polite and professional. Couldn't ask for more. Definitely recommend to others. read more

I'm sure we've all passed by, seen, and chuckled to ourselves over the clever sayings that is displayed on Hawaiian Rent-All's sign out front right? I know I have. Coming from Kaua'i about 5 years ago, I've always looked forward to driving past this place just to see what witty words were going to be up for everyone to see this time. Never have I ever thought much about what this business actually is or what they had inside. That is, until I've finally decided to go inside to see what this place is. My birthday was coming up and I wanted to rent out some party materials considering I've come to look above the funny sayings sign of theirs and see they're a RENTAL place. They rent out a bunch of big machines/lawn stuff for your typical unko. The inside was full of unko's and braddahs just enjoying their day. I loved it. They were super helpful, easy-going, friendly, and were quite funny. I appreciated their help for helping me rent some things for my birthday party. Their pricing isn't that either and the whole renting out something process went very smoothly. Again, here's the perfect place to rent out your big dad shed materials at a reasonable price. You'll also get to experience being in a room full of people who definitely make you feel at home :) Thanks again! read more

Rented an upholstery/carpet cleaner to clean our couch. Called when they opened and we were able to pick it up that day. They guy was friendly and reserving the machine was easy. When we went to pick it up, they taught us how to use it. We had to buy the whole bottle of cleaning solution from them, which was about $10. Cleaning the couch only required three capfuls. Seems like a waste but at least we can save the bottle until we need to clean the couch again. Doing the actual cleaning took some getting used to, but we quickly got the hang of it. We needed some towels on hand. What finally worked was when we did what we saw the professionals do: spray on the solution with the nozzle a few inches above the surface (we were initially placing the nozzle directly on the cushion while spraying) and then vacuum up as much liquid as possible. Lastly, vacuuming in all directions. Hawaiian Rent-All has some tutorials on their website. We have a white couch and it had a bunch of water stains from our poor attempt to clean off some yellow paint our child accidentally splattered on there a few months ago. I wish I had taken a picture of what it looked like before, but it took off all the stains and my couch is like new again. Always had the couch professionally cleaned, but now that I know we can do it ourselves and save $100, I'll definitely be going back to Hawaiian Rent-All! read more

The regular employees are friendly and helpful but the seems like the manager or owner I don't know who the hell it is his communication is short and curt, brusque, impatient, his demeanor is conveyance of something like " I don't care about your money, I'd rather be somewhere else I'd rather be doing something else I'd rather not be talking to you I don't care if you take your business somewhere else..." as a general feeling... read more

Fast, easy service. The team was very nice, organized, and accommodating. I called to place a reserve for a couple of stanchions, but didn't have a set date. They said no problem and when I finally had a date in mind, they easily updated my order. Hawaiian Rent-All - This is apparently a comment on North Korea's threats. - Machine & Tool Rental Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

I just needed to rent a wrench grinder. I didn't want to go far. There's not much options and after reading the reviews here I wonder if it would be worth it. Then it can't be that hard and I only needed it for 5 min. I did go to their website to look for what I needed and how much it would be. The rate for half a day is $14.00 for an electric one. That works for me. Parking is tight but my toaster was able to park in the front. I went in the mid afternoon when I thought it would be in between the rush to rent and the rush to return. They first tried to get me to rent a cordless unit for $30 for the whole day and that was the lowest rate. Yeah right. I had to explain exactly what I was going to do that the actual job would take less than 5 min and I would be back in less than an hour to return. This was not a heated battle at all and didn't take alot of time but it's annoying. They did locate an electric one, thank goodness, and I got the rate I was expecting. It was checked to make sure the tool was working before I left, and checked again when I came back. They do charge a hefty deposit fee which you'll get back once you return. Like most credit charges, that refund will take a few days to appear on your account. I definitely be keeping tabs on that. Before you rent from here, check their website for what you need and know what options are available. Then, to be sure, give them a call let them know you'll be coming by and what you need. Verify the rate and the availability to avoid any problems. read more

I rented out a champagne fountain for a holiday party a couple weeks ago. The parking situation threw me off at first but it's generally not an issue. They have quite a selection of items to choose from, I was surprised to find this beauty available to rent out! Staff was very friendly, they tested the fountain to make sure it was working well and helped me carry it to my car. The rental fee was affordable and well worth it -- better than buying something I wouldn't use very often. Overall, I would rent from them again. read more

Unfortunately I am really disappointed with this place. The staff was friendly at first but when we spoke about our issues with the machine we rented, they no longer had any amount of customer service or care. We rented a floor sander, which I later found out was not the correct one. I trusted their advice and rented what was recommended- which the man that was working the following day kept saying "I never forced you to rent this." That seems like an odd argument. During the day I rented, one of the employees turned the machine on to demonstrate it and immediately lost control of the machine and slammed it into the counter. That should have been enough for me to realize they weren't recommending the correct machine. But I took it home and tried for myself. The sand paper - which is about $13 per piece - ripped off the machine within seconds. After going they 4 pieces in minutes, I decided not to continue throwing away money. Mind you, this is after I brought it home and didn't thorough research on proper use. The time that I decided I would no longer try it is when I turned it on and it punched me in the stomach and left me with a bruise the size of a softball. This machine should not be rented to people who have not been trained to use it. I went to Home Depot in the middle of all this to rent a different machine as I was in a time crunch to get this massive project finished. They were amazing! GO TO HOME DEPOT! They gave me the right machine, demonstrated it and best of all it was half the price of Hawaiian rent all. When we returned the machine the man blamed everything he could think of besides the machine. He kept saying "well, it depends the wood." I'm not sure what that sentence even means or why nobody told me that the machine works differently on different wood? I asked him to show me how to use it and he shows me a demo with a buffer pad rather than the sand paper, which is what I was saying I had a problem with. Anyway long story but it was overall a terrible, expensive and disappointing experience. I will not be returning and make sure others don't bother there either. I'm disappointed it had to be such a bad experience. read more

Date of incident: Saturday July 26, 2014. My aunty rented a 3200 watt Honda generator from HRA for my daughters ONE YEAR birthday party. We had Mike Love and Sam Ites performing for my daughter and so they needed a generator. My aunty drops it off 930am, turns it on and of course it was fine for the 2 minutes she turned it on for. 130pm live music for my baby for her birthday present. 200pm generator shuts off while Mike and Sam are in the middle of a song, no problem, we check the cords connected to the generator from their equipment everything okay. Turn it back on and the music starts again. 230pm generator shuts off again so I call Hawaii Rent All and the first person I spoke to over the phone was genuinely nice and helpful and seemed interested in my concern. He tells me if the generator shuts off again within 30 to 45 minutes to call back. Sure enough it shuts off and won't even turn back on. Call the store a around 330pm and this arrogant prick off a dude answers the phone. "Hawaii rent all." Me: " I just called about a half hour ago about the generator we rented and this is about the 2nd time it shut off within the past hour and a half and the person I talked to said to call back." No joke this is the guys response. With a full on attitude and I exaggerate not. "Well I wasn't the one you talked to, but what do you need." I then ask him if there's a manager I can talk to and he said he was the manager. I asked him if there was a higher up I can talked to and he said well I'm the GM. Blow my effin mind. So I slam back at this guy. That's how you talk to people who rent equipment from you. You throw attitude at them when theirs an issue with your equipment. Blah blah blah. He asks me how I WANT TO RESOLVE THIS. I tell him I'm at my daughters 1st birthday party and I ain't leaving so I'm not resolving anything. YOU'RE gonna send someone down here with another generator and take this one back AND IF YOU'RE NOT GONNA DO THAT, THAN YOU'RE REFUNDING MY AUNTIES MONEY BACK. Not wanting to pack this broke generator up with me and hold on to it as a reminder of how crappy the equipment is and how they don't care about their customers for 1 night to return it the next morning. I LEAVE my daughters party to take it back and get the refund. When I get to Hawaii rent all, ALL I GOT WAS MORE ATTITUDE from one of the employees. Told him I spoke to the manager over the phone and asked him to get the manager. SCOTT, THE GM comes walking out. Turns on the crappy generator, listens to the sound it's making and says "sounds like there could be water in the fuel or it could be bad gas." LIAR, because when my aunty dropped it off to.me in the morning she said the employee filled it up with gas before they left. Hawaii rent all thought it could have been that Mike and Sam's equipment had to much watts running of the generator but Mike Love told me they have used the same amount of equipment on smaller generators. And it couldn't have been anything to do with their equipment as for the generator to shut off because the dang generator wouldn't even turn back on. UNTIL MY UNCLE DECIDED TO CHECK THE CARBURETOR AND GUESS WHAT, IT WAS CLOGGED SO THEIR WAS NO PROPER FLOW OF GAS CAUSING IT TO SHUT OFF. Hawaii rent all doesn't properly check the equipment before renting it out and seems like they don't do any weekly or monthly maintenence either. DONT EVER RENT ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. Crap equipment from people who should be working behind a desk because they don't know the true value of CUSTOMER SERVICE. Thanks a lot SCOTT, GM OF HAWAII RENT ALL ON MCCULLY AND BERETANIA FOR THE WORST FIRST AND LAST EXPERIENCE. read more

Come here if you want to rent faulty equipments for half the price! He blamed my husband for not calling him at 1AM (store closed during this time) about the faulty steam cleaner; and not calling at 9am( opening time), because after getting home at 4am, sleep should not be priority. Then he offered half a refund and told my husband to listen instead of speaking. He only refunded full amount because we'd dispute the transaction with our credit card company. There's no need to tell my husband that he may not rent from you when we all know we won't! My husband had to pay his employee double time to clean at night, but only to have the machine not working. We'll make sure to let everyone know not to come here. My husband would be happier driving to Home Depot in Kapolei to rent from them after experiencing your "wonderful" service. If you are the owner or related to him, you have competitors now, so I'm sure you'll be out of business soon. Please keep up the "wonderful" service because you deserve the low ratings! Scott, No, you didn't listen to him when he told you the issues. No, you implied he didn't call you during closing hours because he wanted a free rental. Test your equipments before renting them out. Listen to your customers before accusing them. You tested the equipment in front of him and it wasn't working, so you offered him half refund. Why do you need to continue with your lies? Do you not clearly see all the bad ratings you have besides mine. They clearly have things in common, such as bad customer service and broken equipments. read more

When I was an apartment dweller, I passed by this place all the time and got a big kick out of their signs. Their signs make driving down Beretania more interesting. After I moved in to a house, I found myself awash in home improvement projects. Most of these projects require something that I only need occasionally, though. So, renting a floor sander or carpet shampoo machine is much more economical than buying. This place has a little bit of everything from lightweight construction equipment, scaffolding, catering gear, lawn mowers, pressure washers, and more. However, a lot of their equipment they rent is older so make sure that it is functional. Also, check their prices. If you need a multi-day rental, it might be cheaper just to buy something at Lowe's or Home Depot. I recently rented a carpet cleaner. It worked when they checked it out, but as soon as I got it home, a part broke off. I went back and the quickly replaced it. The convenience factor of this place is high, but I ding'ed them a star because they are sometimes rather slow. Plus, they could use some "service with a smile" training. read more

We searched the island for a floor scraping machine for our commercial sized flooring job. After making a visit to Home Depot Tool Rental (only in Kapolei) who had two (one rented out, and the other was out of commission) we ended up at Hawaiian Rent-All. Our positive experience started once we called to see if they carried such a hard to find contraption. I was greeted by a super-happy man who was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. He even went into great detail and described the machine and its use to ensure it was the machine I was looking for. Awesome. Over the years, I have always been a fan of their nifty and humorous quotations on their marquee, now I am a fan of their extensive equipment supply. They have so many things for every kind of job you may have. The pricing on the tool we needed was comparable to the Home Depot Tool Rental, and the service and rental process was easy. The friendly clerk suggested purchasing an extra blade just in case, and if we didn't use them he'd buy it back. Thank goodness, because we ended up needing the extra blade and it would've been a huge hassle to have to drive back and purchase another in the middle of the job. If you need a hard to find specialty tool for your job that's not worth buying because you'll only use it once, Hawaiian Rent-All is the place for you. read more
