I'm starting to Yelp businesses that have used pre-Covid to help boost interest in companies that are struggled through this past year's lockdowns. FYI: I am in no way getting any type of kickback or payment for this review. The first lockdown crippled Main Party Rentals because their main source of income are public events. They literally lost all of their clients overnight! 2020 has been a struggle for Jimmy Main and his crew but his determination to keep his company going is inspiring! Main Party Rentals is a family based, veteran owned company and are some of the hardest working people I've ever seen in action and always with a smile on their face. How do I know Jimmy Main? My job shares the building with Main Party Rentals and we had a company anniversary party and we needed some tables and chairs and they not only helped with the set up and breakdown but they gave us an unbelievable (Bradah-Bradah) deal! I got some images off off (the knot .com) so you can see some of their work. You can request a quote for them from "the knot" or just yelp them ha! Rentals & Equipment include: Chairs, Chiavari Chairs, Folding Chairs, Dance Floor, Dinnerware, Equipment, Generators, Flatware, Glassware, Lighting, Linens, On-Site Delivery & Setup, Stages, Tables, Cocktail Tables, Dessert Table, Dining Tables, Round Tables, Sweetheart Tables, Set Up & Tear Down Now that we are in Tier 3 i am hopeful that the phone calls will start to come in for them because they super cool people and they are ready to serve! If you are planning an event big or small and need any type of party rentals please give Main Party Rentals a try! read more

The team at Main Party Rentals is fantastic! They helped us with our event on short notice and were able to deliver everything we needed. All of the rentals for our wedding day were provided by Main Party Rentals and they did an amazing job! We got the basics: plates, glasses, chairs, silverware, linens, lighting, etc. Main Party arrived on time and provided EVERYTHING we had agreed upon. And, huge shout out to them because the day before the wedding rain was predicted and we needed a tent last minute and their team made it happen! Mary is so responsive via email and was incredibly patient with me as numbers and ideas changed. I shopped around for a lot of other rental companies and feel their pricing was super reasonable. I would absolutely recommend Main Party Rentals and if I lived in Hawaii would 100% work with them again! read more

We recently worked with Hiavma Designs for a wedding, and their backdrops were perfect and adorable. The welcome sign and seating chart truly enhanced the overall aesthetic. Main Party rentals were amazing UNTIL the day of. Prior to the event communication was phenomenal and they were very accommodating when it came to changes. Paid service was for a 0700 delivery and 2215 breakdown. Equipment included (big stuff) ONE 40x40 tent, 12 round tables, 20 rectangular tables, 10 cocktails stands and 250 feet of bistro lighting. On the day of, tent came about 30 mins late, ONE 40x40 tent (which was no biggy, I get it, it happens) scheduled delivery was for 0700. But if you're going to arrive late and can't set up at a reasonable time, then it becomes a problem. Tent was on site but tables and chairs were running late. We were getting the run around on that, we asked multiple times but we got the same answer "it'll be here in an hour". Tables didn't arrive on site until 5.5 hours after the PAID/agreed delivery time!!! Which in my opinion we should be reimbursed for. This is when it started getting frustrating, 1230 rolled around and the tents weren't even up yet, tables and chairs just arrived on site and it was a rush in getting everything set. My bridal party and I were scheduled to get ready at 1200. I shouldn't be stressing over tents that at this point had ample time! It was bad, in the end the groom and the groomsmen had to help decorate. Not all the decorations were used and there was no time to properly set everything as planned. It was a mess that could have been easily prevented. Everything was so last minute my wedding planner didn't have sufficient time to properly set up the wedding party table but she did what she could with the time she had. The workers of Main party rentals looked tired and were very, very sluggish. They had no sense of urgency. My wedding planner spoke to them but their excuse was they weren't given a timeframe of when it should be set up!!Are you for real!?! Thats unacceptable and a poor excuse for a reputable company. Equipment should NOT arrive 5.5 hours later than the PAID and agreed upon delivery time. It should NOT take 7 hours to set up ONE 40x40 tent. We kept getting the run around of when everything will be completed, it was not right. They were the thorn on our side and that made our wedding day way more stressful than it needed to be - it could have been easily prevented. They were not held accountable, it wasn't a good experience for me. Breakdown crew arrived 45 mins late and did not leave the venue until 0400. PS: If you're going to use them I would stress on a timeframe of when you want everything done. You'd think you shouldn't have to with professionals but sometimes you just have to. Hope this helps. read more

Mary, Jimmy & the crew are AWESOME!! EXCELLENT customer service!! If you're planning a special event, I'd HIGHLY recommend them!! On time delivery set up and breakdown!! Main Party Rentals was our wedding reception vendor for a dance floor. I found them on Instagram and liked the wedding pictures I saw them tagged in. Bonus when we were doing our vendor research and bookings in September, they were offering a 10% discount! We all know weddings are expensive, so every little discount really does help. As for the dance floor size, we decided to go with a 12x16 dance floor, and it was perfect for us. read more

My husband and I hired Main Party Rentals for our wedding in June. They were incredible in their craft! We hired them to deliver and set up and boy was it beautiful. Main Party did an awesome job of meeting with me prior to my event, setting up early for my event and breaking down after my event. Staff is so polite and friendly. We hired main party rentals for our wedding. We rented tents, lighting, dance floor, tables, linens, dinnerware, and a chuppah. Chuppahs are not easy to find on this island, but they had one custom made for a couple they previously worked with. They gave me a price list up front and it was all a la carte pricing. This made it so much easier for me to plan. We had to postpone our wedding twice, but Jimmy and Mary were fair and professional throughout the whole process. They are also great at responding quickly to emails, and were very flexible when I had last minute changes. I highly recommend them! read more

Jimmy and his family was very kind to us. Their prices were affordable. They were flexible and were able to answer most of our requests. They didn't have string lights at first and we were going to find them elsewhere, but they said they have them now. He was the only vendor that advised us to set up a vendors' meeting at the venue (Kualoa Ranch) to check the layout and have a Q&A session with the venue manager to make everything clear. This was a great idea. Without this meeting, we wouldn't have grasped a good image of the layout/positioning and wouldn't have been able to answer questions such as whether we could fly a drone at the ranch (the answer was a no). Jimmy also did overall cleanup including the restrooms and the bridal suite. He did perfectly and we were not charged by Kualoa for any cleanup penalties. The only improvements that need to be made are: 1. They were supposed to provide rental vases but could not find them after organizing the warehouse. We had to go buy them at Goodwill. 2. Jimmy often forgot to reply. It is best to give him an email, a text and a call (sometimes he just forwards the email to his wife Mary and she doesn't reply). 3. My coordinator had to call him several times because he misunderstood the time he was supposed to come to the wedding, but to my relief, he and my coordinator was able to set up everything on time. read more

Very responsive in the beginning, then email responses took longer and longer. We scheduled a time to visit the warehouse and see the items in person twice. Both times, they flaked on us less than an hour before the scheduled time. They also sent us an outdated item list with incorrect pricing. Eventually, they left us hanging two months before our wedding. read more

Main Parry Rentals saves the day for my son's wedding reception in July 2019! I found myself unexpectedly in charge of pulling off the reception less than 8 weeks before the big day. I didn't realize how much work was involved! Approximately 5 weeks out from the big day, I went to order the table linens and found them online. About a week after placing my order for the linens I realized that if I didn't hire some of help at the wedding reception I would be the hell! Not the way I wanted to spend this very special day. When I contacted Jimmy he got right on it and we were able to get two people lined up. They assisted with the food setup, replenishing food & drinks and the cleanup afterwards. So glad I bit the bullet and just paid for help!! The hired staff were very efficient and pleasant while being discrete. Jimmy and Mary were so easy to work with in dealing with a crazy and overwhelmed mother of the groom! They rolled with the changes and were able to make them work. Their prices are very modest for what they offer and they give a kama'aina discount to Hawaii residents! Highly recommend Main Party Rentals, they are much more than a linen service! read more

Jimmy and Mary were AMAZING to work with. They were quick and responsive to each and every question/concern we had (throughout our entire wedding planning). We traveled for our wedding, so it was awesome for Jimmy to take time out of his busy schedule to meet up with us and go over last minute details before the wedding day. He also went above and beyond by offering to take care of something that was outside of his contract, which helped out immensely on our wedding day. We appreciate you both greatly!! read more

We used Main Party rentals for our wedding this past weekend. It was a very easy and enjoyable experience. Mary was extremely helpful and would usually respond to emails nearly immediately. When I asked if we had enough lighting for our venue. She comment what we ordered would be enough. They could have easily of gotten me to pay more due to my lack of knowledge. Rare to find a company these days to conduct business honestly and fairly. On the day of our event they were on time and wanted to insure everything was a 100% setup to our expectations. I am so glad I found Main Party Rentals! I was searching for a vendor to help me with the lights, linens, napkins, tables and some other extra things for my reception at Moli'i Gardens and they were able to help out last minute and were a huge lifesaver. I had been working back and forth with another vendor, and they kept assuring me they could help me out within my budget and finally I had to tell them they couldn't make it work for me and I had to go another route. I searched online and reached out to Mary at Main Party Rentals and communication was awesome right from the start. They emailed me back and forth right away, which was so helpful and not what I was used to since I had planned a destination wedding and most vendors I was working with took a couple days to get back to me. My coordinator had great things to say as well, she said they arrived on time (early even I think?) and were very pleasant to work with. They helped set up and break down all of the chairs and tables (even though they were only supposed to help break down some of the chairs and we were supposed to take care of the rest). They went the extra mile and had really affordable prices. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them! read more

Can I just say... if I had to choose a vendor out of ALL of the vendors that I worked with/hired for my wedding, Jimmy & his wife were the most pleasant, delightful & hardworking people that you could ever work with. Not only did he go out of his way to provide for me and our wedding, but the prices were ridiculously good and they were amazing at communication. He set up and broke down all the chairs for my wedding and arranged it all beautifully. I've never seen someone work so hard before! I have rented out chairs for my party. They are very accommodating and reasonably priced. Sweet people!

This review is so long overdue. We had our sons first birthday party at Waikiki Aquarium back in October and needed tables, chairs, cocktail tables & umbrella rentals. Jimmy was really easy to work with over the phone and through emails. On the day of the party the weather wasn't so great, it was pouring off and on. Joel and his set up crew were on time for set up and break down & the rentals were all clean and in good condition. Joel and his set up crew did a really awesome job setting up and made sure we were happy with placement of tables and chairs according to the floor plan I had. The rain was off and on and they made sure to wipe all the chairs and tables down for us before they left. The rain eventually stopped right before guests arrived! Praise Jesus Hallelujah! Main Party Rentals really delivered! They went above and beyond and provided great service. I highly recommend Main Party Rentals for all your party rental needs! We will definitely be using them again for future events. Thank you Jimmy, Joel, & the Main party crew for making everything stress free and beautiful for us! read more
