I scheduled my party rental for drop-off at 830am for my party start time at 10am. Workers didn't show up until almost 11am, poor communication, I had to call repeatedly just for them to finally answer so I could get an ETA. I reached out to the owner twice after the party to ask for some sort of refund due to the rentals being two hours late and got no response. read more

I rented (3) 8' tables & (24) chairs. The cost with distance & delivery $98 & something cents. The day of the party, PJ called to ask if it was ok to drop off everything hours before the party, which I loved. They picked up everything the very next day & it was contactless. Found PJ party rentals from a few referrals of friends for my wedding. Checked out Yelp/google and found some promising reviews. Sad to say I'm part of the statistics that didn't get the service I wish I had received. My order was 2. 20x20 white high peak tents w/lighting, 65 white resin chairs with padding, and 4 cocktail tables. My drop off time was set between 10am-6pm Friday. To my surprise the guys showed up 10am sharp Friday BUT they only set up and dropped off the 2 tents(2 dirty white tents and I didn't notice during the setup/drop off) and Said the rest would be here at a later time. At 6:30pm the chairs showed up. We immediately began helping the crew unload as we were rushing to finish setting up. We asked about the lighting, and cocktail tables and were told they'd be there later. Emailed PJ and he informed me the guys had left with the stuff and asked to reschedule for 7:30am next morning(that wasn't in the agreement nor was that planned as all our setting up was to be done the night prior to our wedding as we needed to be at the ceremony location in the morning to begin getting ready/hair make up etc etc. PJ said he'll have the guys come back at night since I told him we would be up till midnight or so. Midnight came around and I called for an eta. He explained they had a pickup in pearl city and would call me back with an eta to lmk. Little around 12:30 I gave him a call with no answer. We waited till 2am with no luck. We headed to sleep and tried to plan for the next day. 7:40 the next day they arrived with the remaining 4 tables, and began setting up the lights. I went up stairs to ask my wife to come take a look and see if what they set up is good enough. By the time I came back downstairs they had gone and left with no one around. The lights were up but it was a single 15ft strand right along the metal brace wires in the tent. For a wedding? Idk man. It was too late now to make any changes. We set up the electrical to power the lights and noticed 3 bulbs total were missing from both Tent/light set ups. How? I texted pj about the issue with the lights missing. No reply all day. Now we have a wedding with missing lights and a dirty white peak tent. On a day as important as a wedding our family was definitely disappointed in the rentals we received. The lights however for the record was "free" as he told me he would set them up free when I inquired about adding lights after seeing how nice other companies set theirs up. Ultimately I'm not sure I would be able to recommend this company or use this company in the future. I do wish them luck and hopefully take this as a learning lesson. UPDATE: After receiving a call back from PJ (Owner), I received a sincerest apology and refund for the order mix-up and late delivery. He was very sincere and explained the challenges he faced with staffing shortage that day. Which I completely understood. Besides this minor hiccup in service, I would definitely utilize them again because of the owner's ability to resolve matters and is very kind to work with. PREVIOUS REVIEW: It's unfortunate that I did not get the same excellent service as the rest of the previous customers, but I'm hopeful that this is just a hiccup for PJ's and that they will do the right thing and partially refund me for the extremely late delivery. I had booked PJ's for my company Christmas party and had ordered the following: 1 - 20x20 tent, 1-10x10 tent, 2-round tables, 7-8' tables, and 75 chairs. Per our contract agreement, delivery time and set-up was to begin at 8 am. I was totally fine with an hour late, but 4 hours and 45 mins late is unacceptable. Especially when I was very lenient about being late and asked (well begged) that they at least have my order to the venue by 12 pm. If they could do that, I wouldn't ask for a partial refund. BUT That did not happen. I was told they would be there by 9 am, 10 am, then they said they were near by, or 10 mins out, then I was told they were late due to strong winds. AND THEN, after receiving only the 20x20 tent around 11:30 am, I was told that my order went to Laie instead of Waianae. Hence, I didn't get my tables and chairs until 12:45 pm. And I didn't receive my entire order. I didn't receive the 10x10 tent and 2 round tables. My guests couldn't sit, my entertainment and vendors couldn't sit, and my food line couldn't get set up until they arrived. My guests of 75 people arrived at 12 pm. So you can imagine the embarrassment I felt as the event coordinator and host. If the owner is reading this, I'll be more than happy to update/change this review if I can receive a response regarding my partial refund for the late delivery and for the 10x10 and round tables that I did not receive. Highly Recommend The day before my party another vendor that I booked months in advance with double booked my table and chairs and literally left me with nothing the day before my party. Feeling frustrated and crying! I googled party rentals everyone I contacted was fully booked. Came across PJ party rentals 808, he was so understanding and took the time to hear me out. He told me he would check their stock and would contact me back. Within 10-15 mins I got a call he had everything I needed and they were able to accommodate me. Being just hours before closing the crew was ready to clock out and head home. But they took time out of their busy schedules to help me out. Shout out to that awesome crew for staying after hours to deliver my tables and chairs that evening before my party.
