We ate at the old location once. It was absolutely amazing. Today's visit to the new location was not the same. Drinks were not refilled promptly or at all. One meal was sent back for being cold. Bread on a kids order had mold. Manager came and took the bread but by the time my daughter got a replacement her "dipping" eggs were cold and solidified. So she ate nothing. The House ketchup and jelly was great! We may or may not try again when we are back in town. read more

Good food fast service! Friendly staff who makes sure you are taken care of. Delicious things to eat all around and good portions

This is apparently as good as it gets around Quincy IL in terms of breakfast. The service is always good. I've had the corned beef hash- think mini chunks of corned beef, with potatoes and 2 poached eggs. The only thing missing was cabbage it seems. The English Muffin is also delicious, especially with their fruit marmalade. The boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy- also very good. Order it with the additional eggs! The peach ice tea is also very good- I believe it's in season now. I deducted one star because we came here for lunch the day prior. I had the light fish with parmesan chips. I'm not sure if it was the fish but something in that meal upset my stomach for the rest of the afternoon. I won't hold it against them though. Thyme Square has a great staff and their food is almost always spot on. read more

Thyme Square is a very welcome addition to the Quincy dining scene. I visit Quincy three or four times a year to spend time with my daughter and I have grown tired of the usual food options in Q. I had tried to visit the TSC on a few other visits but my timing was off. This time I was pleasantly surprised to discover the restaurant had moved to a much larger space that's still in the dwtn area. It was worth the wait! I enjoyed lunch while seated comfortably at the counter. I chose the Steelhead trout which was the market catch of the day. Placed on a bed of diced potatoes with cooked kale I was delighted with the plating and the flavorful combination of fresh ingredients. The fresh lemonade was a tasty compliment that lead to the Chef's Choice desert of the day: lemon tart with honey thyme sorbet and a cherry coulis. Wow! read more

I was pretty disappointed as this place has quite a good reputation. However, my food was over salted. Which was edible for me but if I was a person with high blood pressure this would have been inedible. I did spend the rest of my day with a dry mouth. I noticed their espresso machine on the way in and got excited about the possibility of a proper espresso drink in this town. Unfortunately, my cappucino was served in an Irish Coffee glass and tasted burnt. I suspect they leave the machine on all the time which is not ideal for this type of machine, it is a highend at-home model and should be turned off between uses. True industrial capacity machines have more sophisticated heating elements and better temperature and pressure control. Maybe I ordered the wrong things, or maybe I got unlucky but either way I won't be keen to go back. read more

My colleague and I went there after work for breakfast on a whim, and were blown away by the excellent service and superb food. The food was so good that I asked for another serving of the same meal, just so that I could take it home for a later lunch. First time there, and believe me, it won't be the last. My colleague has already been there three more times since then, and says she cannot get enough of it. Throughout our meal, all we could do was exclaim how scrumptious the food was. The service was excellent and fun, which made the entire experience all the more enjoyable. Updating my review, to be more precise, it is very important to note that the food here is prepared by farm produce garnered from local farmers and gardens, and even their meats like their corned beef in the hash and the bacon, are actually cured here in the kitchen. Even the orange juice here is freshly squeezed and not of the frozen concentrated kind that many restaurants resort to using. It's thick, and not at all brightly and artificially colored. I had the utmost pleasure of trying their splendid cherry jam today, and I couldn't have asked for a better preserve on my English muffin. If eating breakfast here is a part of heaven, please don't let me return to Earth. read more

I LOVE to eat here! I come up from StL for work every 2weeks, and I plan my whole trip around eating here :-) the food is beyond wonderful. The flavors are interesting and artistic, without being "scary" for the timid. Everything on their menu is comfort food with a beautiful twist. Thyme Square cafe is absolute perfection! The only flaw is that I can come up with is that I can not box them up and take them back to StL and St Peters with me.. If you are looking for fresh, healthy, creative food while in Quincy, you absolutely MUST stop here! read more

Bitchin' food in a killer old building redone and best breakfast in town. Have never had a bad experience here. All staff is super friendly and perfect place to recommend for my Air Bnb guests. read more

Excellent brunch menu. Cute farm-to-table vibe. Hands down the best omelet I've ever had! Love this little eatery. It brings so much to Quincy. read more

Definitely deserves the 5 stars and then some. Had their biscuits and gravy- some of the best I've ever had. Their country potatoes are some of the closest to perfect potatoes I have ever had. Good atmosphere, good service, good prices! read more

So glad we found this little spot. Very awesome homemade breakfast! The peppercorn omelette special was great. My favorite things were probably the fabulous little English muffins and the amazing sausage I got on the side. Very great food! read more

If I didn't have to give a star to write a review, I certainly would not. Quincy seems to love this place and every time I visit town it is everyone's number one on the list for breakfast. I will NEVER understand it. I have been a handful of times and it is always a lackluster experience. The service is subpar, the food is mediocre and quite frankly these are generous statements. This particular time was by far the worst out of my less than pleasant visits to this erroneous establishment. The service dropped from subpar to beastly when we waited on our food for over an hour and then were questioned when we expressed our dislike for the offensive cold mush we were expected to eat. The hostess actually came over to our table to 'check' our food as if we would make a random excuse to leave a plate full of food for no good reason. She actually took it so far as to feel the temperature. Mind you, we only took one bite before deciding not to waste our appetite on whatever had landed on our plates. Taking it to the next level and officially making it the most horrendous service experience I've had, she chased us out of the restaurant, demanding that we pay for our coffee drinks. Yes, this is real. I could not make this up if I tried. This 'restaurant' would absolutely never make it in a bigger city. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time or your patience on this place. We ended up at Coachhouse which was a great experience with fantastic service!! We had to eat lunch since we wasted or breakfast hours at Thyme Square but, that was ok because it was delicious and worth the wait! read more

Nice atmosphere and friendly service, but limited vegetarian options. I ordered the portabella sandwich and it came out with just half a mushroom that barely covered half of the ciabatta roll it was on. Disappointing for the cost read more

This is my favorite lunch or brunch place. Everything is homemade. The pastrami sandwich is to die for. Homemade soups are fabulous. It can be a little bit loud because of the high ceilings. Coffee is yummy and so is the homemade ice cream. Come hungry! read more

We were visiting Hannibal MO over the weekend and stayed in Quincy IL. I always like to check out Yelp for restaurants, things to do etc. when out on vacation. Looking for breakfast was the mission and I would say mission accomplished. Great food, great service and great prices really. The place is small so you are sitting pretty close to other but it gives you the opportunity to see "what they are having" Delicious and highly recommended. read more

I always enjoy a meal at Thyme Square -- though I admit I miss the old location on the square. It was always crowded and noisy, but it was charming. The old Busy Bee Store is a charming place, too. The food is always fresh here. The breads are incredible. One of the best things that can happen to you is for your choice not to be on the menu -- then you get to experience something new. Cory is a died-in-the-wool chef. I think he would quit before he served something he didn't think was absolutely delicious and prepared to the best of his ability. This is the kind of place that big city folk think you have to live in the big city to get. Next time your kinfolk from New York, L.A., or New Orleans come to visit and are talking down to you for living in a culinary desert, bring them here. That will shut them up. read more

Always awesome food & great service! Portobello Mushroom Sandwich, eggs Benedict, house made sauces. Great food and reasonable prices.

Let me start off by saying, I wish I could give this place a higher rating. I ate here a few weeks ago for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated upon arrival but it took nearly 15 minutes for a waitress to take our drink order. Food came out in a decent time and was absolutely delicious. I loved my short rib sandwich and potato salad, the flavors were excellent. Drink service was also very slow and I had to repeatedly ask for refills and then my silverware. I like the atmosphere and menu but the service definitely needs some work. I will try again (maybe it was a fluke) but I'm wary of bad service. read more

Amazing restaurant! five stars! five stars! five stars! Where do I even begin? The food, the atmosphere, the people - it's all incredible! I have been here so many times and I still haven't tried something I don't love! The food was amazing. Loved the atmosphere. But as good as all that was the wait staff was sub-par. I can't give a higher star rating because of that. Got seated and took over 10min to get a drink order. I finally put a timer on my phone and set it for walking out time. Got our food but no silverware. Took too long for coffee refills IMO. I'll give it another shot though. read more

Great food, very pleasant atmosphere. Because food is locally grown / homemade, it tastes different (and better) than what you're used to. Glad I trusted yelp! PS I've only had a handful of 5 star meals, so 4 is about the best I rate. read more

What a hidden gem. Seriously amazing food crafted with care and love. I'd do almost anything for the recipe for sweet potato soup. You could tell that everything they could handmake, they did. We detoured here on our way to St. Louis, not knowing what to expect, and were so thrilled we came a second time on our way home. Service was stellar the first time, less so the second, but still good. And pick up some homemade jam on your way out too! read more

I love this place. They have innovative specials made from great produce that was grown on local farms. I have enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich with butternut squash soup. The soup was flavorful and the perfect amount. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and opted for fruit salad instead of their house made Parmesan chips. The fruit salad was a great mix of fruit with lots of raspberry and peaches....not your typical melon with 3 berries fruit salad. The staff here is extremely friendly and I have seen the owners front of house both times I have been in here. read more

Thyme Square does everything right, every time. They have a large, but carefully-selected menu for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. They have lots of tables, but not so many that you feel like you're in a cavern. They're located on the town square, and the large windows let in lots of locally-sourced light, complimenting the locally-sourced menu items. They have excellent service! You'll be in and out in 30 minutes if that's your goal. Or you can stay and sip on another glass of the homemade flavored iced tea. Free wifi and an outdoor patio round out the experience. I'm in Quincy at least once a month for work, and I always look forward to eating here. read more

Nice option for good food. But it wasn't that much better than Panera, and yet it's definitely more expensive than Panera. Would do 3-1/2 stars if it were an option. I had a gourmet side-salad (with chicken) and cup of soup for $9.99. It was very tasty, but a similar item would be $7.99 at Panera. And I wouldn't need to tip! Just saying. :) read more

Overall, I was extremely impressed with this fresh, all-natural dining experience. The service was great and the food was fresh and out-of-this-world (I had the breakfast tacos and freshly baked English muffin and would highly recommend both). We're in from out of town and we're looking for a decent breakfast. Well, we were pleasantly surprised when we got way better than decent - this place is flat out awesome. The farm to table unique breakfast dishes truly are one of a kind. The presentation and taste are both excellent! The service was excellent! I'm disappointed that we don't live more nearby this fantastic restaurant because we would make this one of our regular haunts. Tip - try the maple bacon coffee!
