Let's just start with the cocktail, shall we? I did! It was delicious. And very welcome on a warm summer day... The brat burger was very tasty also. The service was good. We were scheduled for a tour later and needed to get in and out. The server managed to make that happen. The ambiance? Well the building is way cool, but it's loud in there. Sure wish more places would pay more attention, and do more to quiet the din! But overall, a good place to stop for breakfast or lunch.

Casual dining in downtown Quincy. Large spacious dining area. Nice choices of sandwiches, salads, soups, wraps for casual meal. Service was courteous and prompt. Plates were plentiful and delicious.

Great place, heartwarming and casual. Friendly staff. The cafe latte could have been a little stronger and less like American coffee.

I LOVED this meal. They have so many great options whether you want something healthy or looking to splurge. Cool atmosphere, though it does kind of look like a vacant unit from the outside. The service was good, no complaints. I would definitely go back!

Wow, this place is amazing. I really didn't expect much but it is one of the best breakfast I've had in a long time. The pastries are incredible. The pancake was outstanding. My egg was cooked perfectly. The biscuit is just terrific with the sausage gravy. Oh my if I lived here, I'd eat here every day.

This a one of our favorite breakfast / brunch spaces. The seating area is a decent size, but nearly always full. Be prepared to wait, as it gets busy! This is a farm to table restaurant with a lot of options made in house (breads, desserts, etc) and you can tell there is a lot of thought put into the menu. The menu changes seasonally but I have never had anything bad. The Breakfast Sandwich (get it with the house made sausage on the English muffin!) has become a favorite, my husband loves their Eggs Benedict or the Thyme Squarold. Our daughter has recently started loving the Granola. I also recommend a mimosa flight for a boozy breakfast. We cannot end our meal without the macaroons. They are so very perfect, every single time.

We've been here for breakfast and lunch now. I greatly prefer their breakfast offerings-- there are so many great options to choose from! This time around, we ordered a breakfast sandwich and the garden frittata. I also ordered the espresso milkshake, which is so delicious! It's frothy and quality. You can taste the coffee, but it's not an overpowering flavor. The breakfast sandwich is always a slam dunk for me. The frittata was a new one for us, but we found it to be light and fluffy with all the melty goodness of the Swiss cheese topping. Our server, Mike, was super nice and made sure our water glasses were always full, even though we both ordered other drinks. I love the mid-century modern decor here. Seriously taking notes on design for my future home. The lighting, booths, and scarred wooden floors are all gorgeous. Plus there are wide, wonderful windows at the front which supply natural lighting!

I finally got the please to come here today. I've been dying for so long to. It was a bit of a wait but so worth it. While waiting I noticed they have farm fresh eggs, homemade breads, jams, honeys, coffee and more. It's a nice place with two rooms. One room is for dining the other seems to be for coffee and sitting. They do have alcohol here! Mimosas, bloody Mary's, adult milkshakes. I did get a mimosa for breakfast which was pretty good. On Saturday's breakfast is until 11am and they do close at 2pm. They have a lunch menu as well. I did get a the black stone Benedict. Which comes on an English muffin and has bacon and a tomato on it. Also comes with a side of what they say breakfast potatoes (id call them hash browns). Everything was so so good. It was inexpensive. I will be returning. I would imagine it gets busy Sunday mornings. They do take reservations!

A diamond in the rough. I don't travel to Quincy much, but it is quite like a lot of older Midwest towns. Some of these towns may look a little run down, but they have history and charm. They were also made up, typically of good solid people. Friendly people. Helping people. People with a good work ethic. Friends and families. What America is. Unfortunately, there are areas of these towns that the history does show. The years of work, the cracks, and sometimes the forgotten glory isn't always so glamorous anymore. Faded structures that stand as time capsules are still there to remind you of what once was a more vibrant time. You'll find gems like Thyme Square Bakery & Cafe all over the country I started with the Breakfast Beverage Trifecta of Ice Water, Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice, and Hot Coffee. But wait.... There's more... For breakfast, I ordered the Traditional Brakfast consisting of two Scrambled Eggs, Sausage Breakfast Potatoes, and Handmade Multi-grain Bread with Apple Butter. All of it - AMAZING!!! All fresh and made to order. Absolutely fantastic. A nod to the sausage. It's not like any sausage I've had before. Great pork flavor with a hit of spice/seasoning. The pork truly does the talking on this one. And that's not all..... I had to get the single Pancake with Whipped Honey Butter and Maple Syrup. My Pancake-Goodness!!! Incredible!! The service was outstanding. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes on a Tuesday morning. Very nice large seating area. Would I go back? Heck, YES!! In a minute!! I won't likely visit Quincy, IL much, but if I do, I will be back. And if you're in Quincy, stop reading this and get to Thyme Square Bakey & Cafe!!! They're literally there, waiting for you. Stop reading!!!! GO!!!!!

Great place! Clean! Fun! My charcuterie omelette was so tasty. The bacon is mmmmm & the accompanying homemade toast was yummy. Potatoes were good as well. Hubby's biscuits & gravy had eggs & potatoes & he really enjoyed it! Big portions. Ice tea was great! Coffee & cream good as well. Staff masked & pleasant. Go there! PS: call ahead for a reservation! Oh yes--order a macaroon!!

I dropped in on a weekday, late morning, to grab a jolt of caffeine before heading out for a hot, busy afternoon. The co-owners were on site: Margarita was behind the counter and Bill was reading a book to a child nearby. The spacious room was dotted with a few other visitors, including a table of women having a lively conversation. A Sade LP was playing on the hi-fi, and as side two ended it was replaced with a snappy jazz record. The café has many food options; I chose a house-made pastry that was perfectly flaky and well-balanced. My iced latte was just right too. I sat for a bit to review some papers I'd brought, and noticed plenty of seating options. Several tables along a wall had access to outlets, for those who need to plug in devices. Margarita brought my order to me and we talked awhile (it turns out we have mutual friends in Quincy) and she happily shared her experiences of growing her business. She also pointed out the books available to read on-site, as well as the paintings on the wall by local artists. Most are available for sale. Next time in Quincy I'll make time to have lunch at Calftown--I look forward to returning!

I had a basic black coffee that did the trick, and the breakfast sandwich was delicious. It's so nice to see such a wonderful, creative environment flourish in Quincy, particularly at State & 8th.
