My favorite meal in the U.S. happened when we were passing through the small city of Quincy. I saw online that this place had a pretty good salad bar, so after watching the sunset by the river, we came over specifically to try it. Service The staff were incredibly nice. Since we were foreigners, it took us a little while to order because we had to use Google Translate. Our server was very patient--she brought us our drinks first and gave us plenty of time to figure things out. She even told us a little joke to make us feel less awkward, although unfortunately I didn't quite catch it. Anyway, once we finally ordered, she told us we could go help ourselves at the salad bar. I asked, "Is it just one trip?" and she said, "Don't worry, I'm not going to count." That was great. Food The salad bar was honestly fantastic. It had one of my favorite things: broccoli, paired with a fairly light ranch dressing. I went through two full plates of it that evening. I honestly felt like I was the only person in the whole restaurant going crazy over the broccoli, because when I first started taking some, that tray looked almost completely untouched. There were plenty of other options too: two kinds of creamy soup, four or five types of bread, all kinds of leafy greens, macaroni, mushrooms, and more. Honestly, as a Chinese guy, I could have eaten very happily--and very well--on the salad bar alone. I ordered the Baked Salmon. Well... it was basically a piece of chilled salmon that had been baked, but the real star was the sweet-and-savory sauce. I couldn't quite figure out what was in it, but overall it was very good. The salmon was cooked just right: the sauce and the surface of the fish had developed a slightly crisp, caramelized crust, without the salmon becoming overcooked. When I make salmon myself, I like to roast it with lots of cherry tomatoes and lemon to cut through the fishiness. Their approach worked well too--the sauce and the browning helped balance out quite a bit of the fishy flavor. My companion ordered a steak and gave me a small piece. It was medium well, and pretty good too. Atmosphere The atmosphere was nice. There were regular dining tables as well as a large U-shaped bar, very much the kind of classic American restaurant I had imagined. There was also a fairly large waiting area just inside the entrance, which made it obvious that this place probably gets very busy during peak hours.

I heard so many advertisements on the radio for the summer brunch specials here for the weekends. I…read morelove brunch so much and decided to give it a whirl. It starts from open to 2pm. It was not busy whatsoever when we got there around noon. The staff was very friendly but they didn't have a bartender for the morning for brunch. They have mimosa flights so I was excited what I had heard and seen online. They were not what I expected but they were good enough. The staff was so friendly and they seemed to get along well together like a real team. I ordered the Country Harvest Skillet with some extra jalapeños. It came out super cute looking but it just was not flavorful enough for my liking. But it was still good. They jumbo biscuits were awesome as well. My boyfriend ordered a cheeseburger and he said it was really good. I tried his fries that came with it. They were crispy and I enjoyed the seasoning they choose. I'd like to come back for lunch or dinner at some point. Also to try their other morning cocktails.

We waited about half and hour for our food, before I had to get up and ask about our order progress, the cook and the woman working the register were chatting, while two of our orders sat under a lamp, and my salad was sitting without chicken. The cashier attendant responded rudely to me when I asked as well, acting confused as if she hadn't had half an hour to make the food and inquire with the chef about our order progress. When we did get our food, the wrap that one of us ordered did not have the chicken that we paid extra for. We had to go back again to get the chicken, which we eventually received. Otherwise, the food was mediocre at best, and half of it was cold by the time we received it anyway.

The Patio Brunch Review…read more My favorite "Fancy" #Brunch spot for 200 miles!!! While only offering this delicious dining option on Sundays, I'd be completely remiss for not giving #ThePatio their props here on Yelp! Should you choose to dine at the bar, Beck will take Excellent care of you! ‍ She's very friendly, efficient, remembers her customers better than Many I have ever met in the service industry, and always answers any random question I come up with about the food/drinks/restaurant. (For instance, did you know that The Patio is the ONLY location you can get served #TopecaCoffee locally!!?!? - https://topecacoffee.com This beautiful hot bean liquid is Sincerely delicious enough that I can Almost drink it without cream lol ) The Patio offers both a #BloodyMary and #Mimosa flight, as well as other delicious alcoholic And non-alcoholic options. The Piece De Resistance, IMO, is the rich and savory, Decadent, Croque Madame. ‍ A friend once described it as "that fancy hot ham and cheese!" and they weren't entirely wrong. lol Served on locally made sourdough toast, the fried ham and distinctly tasty Gruyère cheese, meld seamlessly with an (accomplished) béchamel sauce. The "sunny side up" egg rests on top of the sandwich, with but even a bit more sauce in between. To have found this dish so well executed in one of our local restaurants was the best culinary surprise of 2025 so far!!!! Thank You! Overall, the Ambiance, great service, and attention to QUALITY food and drink, definitely make this a #SundayBrunch stop not to be missed! (A small side note: While their Dinner menu is equally yum, the price point on their #Brunch menu is Extremely reasonable, and won't offend your pocketbook quite as much. Don't be scared, just do it!!! Lol) A few little extras I also enjoy are their Grits, 6.5 minute eggs, (Only Beck knows!), and the Stuffed French Toast! #Enjoy -LL

What a disappointment! We had planned and reserved a wonderful birthday dinner with family, only to…read moreend up waiting two hours for our meals. There was a party of 45 being served, but the rest of the dining room was left completely unaware of the situation or the reason for the delay. A simple heads-up to each table BEFORE ordering would have been the appropriate and courteous approach. Our server was kind and did her best, but she was clearly frustrated--especially after sharing that the owner was in the restaurant DINING during all of this. Unfortunately, half of my family had to leave due to the unexpected long delay. After waiting an additional thirty minutes and repeatedly trying to get our server's attention through another staff member, and trying to flag her down , we ultimately gave up. My husband left $100 on the table to cover the drinks and a tip, more than enough. As we exited, he--being a restaurant owner for 35 years--turned toward the patio and waved goodbye, signaling that he will never return. It takes quite a lot for him to feel that way. This experience fell far below the standards we expect from any dining establishment.
