I think my expectations were too high for this place? The ambiance was LOUD, as with many restaurants now. The food was mediocre at best, except for the desserts which were DELECTABLE. The service was very good, as we were a table of 15 and they did an excellent job of getting our orders and then our food out to us. The one thing I did notice was that they continued to bring additional bread out to us, but weren't removing any empty plates. Makes for an extremely crowded table! VERY IMPORTANT: the side door in the back room was locked tight, so in case of fire, we'd have been SOL. read more

Italian restaurant in downtown Quincy right on the square. Slightly upscale dining. Nice dining area to look out on Washington Park. More dining space in back. Service was adept. Busy place on a Saturday night. Some confusion on orders, but no one was put out by it. No cocktails, but plenty of beer and wine, spirits offered. Food was fine with many pasta dishes, entrees pizzas and gf offerings for an upcharge that seemed a bit high priced. Loved some of the deserts! read more

We used to go to tiramisu when we were in Quincy Illinois so we thought we would try it again. It's been quite some time and they've moved locations. We were surprised to find that their table wasn't ready when we arrive for our reservation. Service was good the waitress and waiter seated us took our drink water And was very attentive. The ambience reminded me of the Italian restaurant we remembered from the last time we were in tiramisu, but the food wasn't as good. We were a little disappointed. I had the steak. My wife had shrimp scampi, and the rest of the table had multiple different types of orders some was really good some were not so it was inconsistent. all in all I would still recommend stopping at tiramisu because it could've just been one of those nights. they have done much better in the past and I would expect that they would do much better in the future. read more

We made reservations for our group, but when we arrived at the restaurant they didn't have our table ready. It took another 10 minutes almost 15 to get it ready for us. That was a little disappointing. However, our server was exceptional! She was very polite and easy to talk to and took care of the group very well. I ordered the seafood scampi with linguine. It was just okay. It was a little under seasoned. I thought it would have more garlic in it and I didn't taste any. My husband ordered the steak and it was just okay. The outside edges of the steak were cooked perfectly to medium rare. However, however the center was overdone. Not sure how they accomplish that. Excellent Italian food! The pink sauce on the ravioli is absolutely divine! I don't know what they do to it, but somehow it gets better with every bite. The dining area is quite large and well kept. We drove 2 1/2 hours from Columbia, MO. to Quincy, IL & it was well worth the short road trip! We came upon this amazing Restaurant on a corner. We could see from our car they had an elegant dining area - complete with white linen. The food was delicious, the ambiance was superb & the service was amazing! Woman working hostess stand chastised people as we were coming in that they were letting the door air out as a child was holding the door open for a group of patrons coming in. She didn't greet us- just asked our name and sat us. Appetizers were good, partner enjoyed his veal parmasean though my entree was a fish special which was bland as was the side of potatoes. Best part of my meal was the side of broccoli. Since I was still hungry i ordered a slice of cheesecake. Unfortunately it tasted bland too- definitely had better store bought. Leaving we once again encountered the woman at the hostess stand chastising people for having the door open and letting the air out. Once again she was too preoccupied with the door than providing customer service. At that point I was downright irritated with her attitude towards her guests, the subpar food, and cost we paid for me to go home hungry. We are new to town and enjoy supporting local restaurants. Oh my goodness what amazing food. My mom and I were in from Chicago visiting my uncle who lives at the Quincy Veterans Home. He has been depressed and not eating much. We surprised him with food from Tiramisu. He ate the Ravioli with the pink sauce and the meatball appetizer. He enjoyed that meal so much! We loved our food as well!! My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here the other day. We did come within an hour after opening and on a weekday. So it was not busy inside. They do have a parking lot around back. We got seated immediately. The server was very attentive. They give you a mini bottle of champagne which fills two glasses for $7 which I thought was a bargain. They give you bread and a house salad. The house salad included lettuce and sliced carrots which was a little underwhelming. My calamari was good for what you can get around here. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parm and he really enjoyed it. And I ordered the pork chop which was very good. The broccoli and baked potatoes on the side were a good combination. Was looking for an Italian restaurant one a weekday night and stumbled upon this place whose name is honestly so cute. Had to wait 15 minutes even though there was ample seating inside, but it was okay because there was a cute park right beside it. - Ravioli Salsa Rosa - I felt like this ravioli tasted like they heated it up from a frozen food package. I did appreciate how much raviolis they gave us though although I wish they made it fresh in-house because the filling to pasta ratio wasn't great. Also, I appreciated the free house salad they gave on the side. - Lasagna - Definitely the better option out of the two pastas that we got. I appreciate how much tomatoes they put on this lasagna although I will admit that the flavor wasn't super memorable. - Complimentary Bread - I felt like the bread was pretty good, a bit tough to chew on though. Absolutely love this place. Food is amazing. The atmosphere and ambiance is awesome. Great for casual, formal, and anything in between. The service is great too. The owner is very present, servers are attentive and friendly, and they have a great bus staff that constantly patrol the floor to refill drinks and clear dirty dishes. Even the leftover carry outs are packaged by the staff and wrapped in plastic wrap to keep from spillage. I live about 8 hours away and my boys go to QU. An Italian gem in Quincy. The place is always packed, the food is outstanding and the service wonderful. The owners purchased and rehabbed the current location on our downtown square. It has more tables and space than their prior location. While reservations are still recommended there are more tables and bar space to accommodate drop ins. Every time I go I wonder why I don't eat here more often. read more

Food was delicious! The service was not. We sat and our server came over we put our entire order in, our appetizer and salad were served well before we even received our wine. The table behind us came in two tables after us and were served everything before us and we had the same waiter so it made NO sense. We were served our dessert and had to flag the hostess to get silverware for it. Not sure if we will be back as this was out first time here and it was not on par with what we are used to. read more

I was looking forward to having a nice experience at "the most authentic Italian restaurant in Quincy". The server (Chris) was pleasant enough and was very attentive throughout the meal. That's a positive. We started with the fried calamari appetizer and it was not good. It came out in about 90 seconds and while hot, it was probably the toughest rubber band-like order of calamari which I've ever had. Anywhere. Our entrees, however, were pretty good. I had a fettuccine and scallops in a nice pink sauce. It was tasty, though having a softer consistency than a well prepared scallop should be. My son's grilled sausage and pepper dish was quite good. Well prepared, excellent sausage and a nice red sauce. The bread was cold and not the freshest either, IMO. The room was nice, the buzz was vibrant. All in all a "meh" experience with an overall Italian experience of a "nicer Olive Garden" or Carrabba's. The price wasn't bad, but Quincy needs a restauranteur who can show them how wonderful proper Italian food can be. read more

On our bucket list is little Italys across the US and Canada. We have New York to go. Tiramisu was recommended to us and proved to be among the very best if not the best. It is a beautiful restaurant. Attentive and professional service and gourmet food. The Lasagne and Tortellini in Pink Sauce was exquisite as was the bread, Taramisu and Bruschetta. It was worth the 2 1/2 hour detour to eat at. If you are near Quincy Il stop there. It is one of the very best Italian restaurants in the country. TLDR: Hit and miss. Get the fried calamari. Pass on the tiramisu. MENU: Typical Italian-American fare with lots of genuine Italian cuisine mixed in. FOOD QUALITY: Hit and miss. Some of the items are homemade, if the menu reads true, but it also seems clear that some of the items are brought in frozen - the filling in the fried ravioli, for example, is about what you would get in a can of Chef Boyardee, and you can tell by the way the ravioli are shaped and the edges are cut that they are from a restaurant supply. The house salad is the basic mass produced chopped lettuce and shredded carrot type of situation you can find in every grocery store. Meh. MENU FAVORITES: Get the fried calamari. The pizza is just OK. I've tried the soprano and the margarita; between the two, definitely go for the margarita. MENU FAILS: For a restaurant called Tiramisu, you would think their version would be the crown jewel of the menu, right? It isn't. Tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts, and I buy it every chance I get. If memory serves, I've had it from this spot a total of four times. Like other things on the menu, it seems to be hit or miss, depending on who makes it. The impression I get is that the tiramisu is made to order by the expediter (the control tower of the kitchen, so to speak) as opposed to one of the cooks. On one occasion the savoiardi (lady finger cookies) were so dry, they were difficult even to cut through. On another occasion, the savoiardi were drowning in some combination of espresso and liqueur, so as to be something approaching a stew. On another occasion, they were so stingy with the mascarpone mixture that it was hardly worth the bother. So, why do I keep ordering it? Because I love tiramisu so much. I want to enjoy it. I'd love to be able to recommend this restaurant for it. But I can't. FRONT OF HOUSE SERVICE: I have only ever ordered takeout. The staff is cordial and professional. KITCHEN SERVICE: On one occasion, I ordered lasagna. The cook burned the top layer under the broiler. Instead of replacing my order with something wholesome, he flipped that burned layer over and added a bit more sauce to disguise his mistake. It fooled the expediter, but it didn't fool me. Shameful. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is spacious and well decorated. Exceptionally clean bathrooms. A+ in that regard. If you have a spare moment, check out the artwork on the left-hand side when you walk in. All the times I have visited the restaurant, that painting gave me cause to feel curious about the owner/s, where they are from, and how they came to be in Quincy, of all places. read more

Tiramisu has been our go-to favorite Italian restaurant for years. The food and service have always excellent until today. We went there for lunch and were promptly seated and then nothing. My wife and I sat there for 20 minutes and were never waited on while the throng of people who arrived the same time as us got their drinks, orders and complimentary bread. Waiters and waitresses passed by us too many times to count. In our opinion, ever since the original owner who sold the business and moved to Florida, the service has been wanting. We can't comment on the food since we left angry and disappointed. read more

Very disappointed with their Gluten Free pizza. I've had many different ones being I have Celiac disease. I ordered 2 10in sausage & mushroom for pick up, they charged me $4 extra per pizza because it was gluten free crust which I thought was excessive. They burnt one of the pizza, but we were very hungry from traveling and didn't want to go back. But we probably won't go there again. read more
