Pam made the planning process easy and everything came out as planned. The service was 5 star and the food beyond delicious as always. The Chef I must say is truly amazing because even the hor' Devours, you can tell were made in house. Everyone is still raving about the food. The vibes in Roslyn neighborhood is quite cozy, slow paced and great for weekend brunch. The decor of Thyme is classy, elegant and great for larger group. We were there as a group of 5 for family gathering right at about 11:30 on a Saturday morning and seated promptly. They served solid new America style brunch with affordable price ($22 with a drink and an entree) and great varieties. However, the food was just okay and not surprised, especially their filet salmon was cooked really dry and grilled asparagus was salty. We came here for a birthday brunch - reserved on Open Table with the stated reason for the reservation as "Birthday". We were promptly seated when we arrived. The hostess was warm and accommodating when we wanted to switch to a table that wasn't directly in the path of the split air conditioner. The brunch menu was a flat $28 with a few items that had an upcharge (included 1 drink). We ordered a couple of PEI mussels, sirloin burger, BBQ brisket and scrambled eggs, and a smoked salmon Benedict. The burger and Benedict were very good and delivered on our expectations. The BBQ brisket was okay but clearly not BBQ - no smoke ring or bark. The PEI mussels were good and broth was delicious but one dish had 3 unopened mussels (don't eat those). For $28, I expect dead mussels to be removed before it gets to us - it's shellfish 101. The service was efficient but no one asked us about the birthday. Not looking for a boisterous round of singing but a birthday muffin would have been cute. read more

The place is in an old house , which is beautiful. The back of the place is facing a beautiful pond. It only has one drawback. The bathrooms are on the second floor. I came here with five other people including my brother and cousin. We try to get together for dinner every couple of months. Thyme is set in what appears to be converted large home by a lake and park in the village of Roslyn. Overall this was a good experience, the food was excellent and prices seem fair for the area. The service was good although it was not great. There was something missing as it seemed like there was a head waiter taking the orders for the tables and all the others that we thought was the wait staff were more the runners and did not ever ask how the food was. The waiter did come over and make sure the utensils were changed from course to course, made sure the wine glasses were filled although I think it was missing the real personal attention and personal interactions I've come to expect in restaurants of this caliber. For the most part Saturday night is an older crowd. This is not a place for 30 somethings to meet anyone at the bar. We shared most of the dishes and for appetizers had the grilled calamari, fried calamari, duck tacos, and crab cake. They were all excellent although the appetizer portions are small. The main courses were a good size and all were excellent. We had sesame crusted Ahi tuna which came with purple potatoes YES! purple potatoes. The wood fired double cut pork chops cake with spiced apple cranberry apricot and sweet potato gratin which was like a puff pastry combination. Had the lamp chops, grilled American lamb chops , seared diver sea scallops and grilled jumbo shrimp that was served with a roasted corn risotto and finally the grilled fillet of salmon. You cannot go wrong with any entree. For desert we had strawberry shortcake, caramelized apple tart, glazed banana bread pudding, and assorted sorbet. My favorite hands down was the strawberry shortcake. They were all excellent. All in all it was a great meal, setting of the house is a little dated although it is cozy, and the service fell a little short of my expectation. I've experienced better service so my take away for the owner is to "inspect what you expect". There are a few select restaurants in Roslyn that have a much more friendly and interactive team. No one seemed to be mind the crowd. We were "fashionably" late for a few:))). Lol! The beautiful model like Asian host kept one of the best roomy spots for us, where you could see the entire wild ducks romancing in the bond. A fairly simple brunch menu but coveted everyone s desire. The price is unbelievable $22 straight for all brunch options! Rare seared tuna salad was delightful. I think I got the best fish among all other dishes of ours. My husbands looked very encoring too but he said the steak meat lacked who's factor. But be fair $22.... lol. He seemed annoyed to begin with. Our meals were simple. We did not ask for anything special, so I don't what he seemed annoyed about. I came here for brunch with my family and it was good. I got the mussels with pomme frites. I was expecting thick cut fries but they were more like shoestring fries. Nevertheless they were seasoned well and crispy. Plus the sauces were delicious my favorite was was the truffle sauce. The mussels were so juicy and the sauce was delicious. I wish I had bread to sop it up with. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My friend got the thyme Benedict which was on a potato pancake and man was it delicious. My sister said her crab cake was crunchy and full of crab meat. The service was ok not terrible we just felt rushed. Other then that a great experience the drive through the town was pleasant. I can actually sum it up in one word..... FLAVOR !!! O.M.G. Everything we ate had so much flavor, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed what we ate. For starters, we were each given a warm roll spiked with kalamata olives, so already, this place won me over. Kalamata olives in rolls, warm rolls at that...... with butter. I'm in love. And yes, it was delicious. The four of us ordered from their Prix Fixe menu, and for $34.95 each, we got a huge bowl of either roasted corn bisque or tomato basil soup, and then the following entrees were ordered: 1. Seared Sea Scallops and Grilled Jumbo Shrimp in a chive buerre blanc sauce that was served with wild mushroom and asparagus risotto. 2. Homemade Papardelle with a slow-braised short rib ragout, sauteed vegetable ratatouille and shaved parmesan cheese 3. Wood-Fired Double Cut Pork Chop in a red wine reduction, served with oven-roasted sweet potato mash, sauteed organic kale. 4. Seared Filet of Salmon in a Coconut Soy Buerre Blanc sauce, served with Forbidden black rice, bok choy and baby carrots. Everything but everything was DELICIOUS. Not one complaint, and everything had such amazing flavor. I was the one to order the salmon, and this was my first time eating "forbidden" rice. It was black, and I don't know if it was the rice itself or how the chef seasoned it, but I LOVED it. Wow !!! The flavor was so intense...... and from my perspective, it wasn't so much forbidden as it was FABULOUS !! I didn't try anybody else's dishes, but I know everyone loved what they had, as well !! As part of the prix fixe menu, we had a choice of desserts. Two of us ordered the chocolate truffle torte, and while the other two of us ordered the banana bourbon-glazed bread pudding. Honestly, we were so full from dinner that I only took one bite of the bread pudding. It was more like French toast to me, not so much bread pudding, but it had a great flavor. My (future) son-in-law agreed with that assessment. My daughters had the chocolate truffle torte served with vanilla ice cream, and I know they enjoyed that !! Since I don't live locally and don't get back to NY as often as I'd like to, I'm not so sure it would be realistic for me to think that I'll be returning, but IF there is a way for that to happen, it will !! Lovely outdoor dining experience! Came here for a quick dinner with my mom last weekend around 530 pm after driving by & seeing they were open for outdoor dining. We didn't have a reservation, but the kind host was able to fit us in for an hour. All of the servers and staff were wearing masks & some were wearing gloves. We were seated behind the restaurant where we had a perfect view of the pond. They have these nice wooden picnic like tables set up to accommodate more customers outside. I ordered one of their special cocktails (cucumber Mojito) which was light & refreshing. They also brought out fresh warm bread and butter which was nice. For my entree I ordered the seared scallops and grilled shrimp dish with corn risotto. The seafood was great, but the risotto was not risotto, more along the lines of just watery rice with corn kernels specked throughout. My mom ordered the burger with sweet potato fries and said it was very good. All in all, the service and dining experience was great. I encourage those living in the community to get back out there & support local restaurants and businesses who have been hit hard during the pandemic. Thank you thyme! I was excited to try this new place in a different area for a causal birthday dinner. I was sadly a little disappointed, as was the rest of my party. Appetizers were the highlight actually. We had the grilled calamari, seared tuna, and Fuji apple salad. all were very good. Calamari was my favorite! It had olive tapenade and a hummus smear with it. The entrees were interesting and I was excited, but it was a little subpar. Two people had the scallop and shrimp risotto, I had the seafood paella and the last meal was the filet. I was told the filet was cut in a weird way and just didn't seem like what was ordered. The paella was a good flavor, but was not rice based, it was mostly a broth. We booked an early reservation and were seated promptly when we arrived (just a few parties there with us). What really brought me here for brunch (other than the reviews) was the price! $22 gets you a brunch cocktail and entree, with some entrees options costing up to $6 more. Still not a bad deal for a great breakfast or lunch entree for under $30 with a drink! My only complaint here is coffee is extra!! I thought for sure coffee would be included but was upset it was considered a "dessert" offering and thus cost me $4 extra (although it was French Press, and delicious). For entrees, my wife ordered the jumbo-lump crab cake burger, which she was in love with! I ordered the egg white omelette, substituting feta for Swiss cheese. The omelette was huge and LOADED with spinach and cheese. I was stuffed! Meanwhile, service here was great. Our waitress was attentive and delivered quality service. Overall, not a bad brunch deal! Thyme really disappointed me because I really felt that we got scammed by the waiter concerning water. We were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water and we said still. What they didn't ask us is if we wanted tap or bottled which is usually the norm if they are trying to upgrade you to bottled water. Well the water came out and it was bottled and before we could object it was already poured into our glasses. So shame on you Thyme for not giving us a real option of tap, which is Roslyn is decent enough water. That is why you get a 1 star rating, because you wanted to make a quick buck on your patrons. A bustling place to brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The brunch menu is $22 for a drink and an entree; the menu offers a variety of items some with an up charge. Complimentary scones with cinnamon butter were served to start and they were quite good. I can never pass up a buttermilk biscuit so I ordered them for the table, but was disappointed. The biscuits were dry and served toasted (which is odd), but the flavor was just not there. The price includes all the standard brunch beverages, mimosa, bloody mary, Bellini; however the blood orange margarita on the craft cocktails menu (+$5) was calling my name and it was very enjoyable. The food menu offers a nice variety of breakfast, brunch and lunch type dishes that would please just about anyone. The crab cake sandwich was scrumptious. A lovely crispy crab cake loaded with crab served on a challah bun with avocado, greens, tomato, chipotle mayo and fries. The Thyme Benedict is a great take on the standard; served on a crispy potato cake, perfectly poached eggs & black forest ham are topped with hollandaise alongside some sauteed mushrooms. For dessert the banana bread pudding was delicious and a great end to a lovely brunch. The downstairs dining room has a better vibe, as the upstairs is small and quiet. Note the restrooms are on the second floor via stairs only. There is also a deck which on a nice day would be a perfect place to brunch outside. read more

I decided I needed to try at least one new restaurant during LIRW and Thyme won me over with their menu. It was very easy to get a reservation on open table and our reservation was then confirmed 24 hours beforehand. Once we arrived, we were promptly seated next to the fireplace, which was nice and toasty! I ordered the butternut squash ravioli for an app, the salmon for the entree and flan for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious! The waitstaff was very attentive as well. It is a bit crowded downstairs and I constantly had staff and other guests bumping into my chair based on where I was, but I managed! Asked the hostess if a service animal was welcomed on the patio, she responded yes. When I walked in with him I was immediately greeted with a dirty look when she told me he doesn't "look" like a service animal. She was extremely rude and continuously questioned us although we had paperwork. My boyfriend served in the military and suffers from PTSD. LOVE this spot! I have been here at least 6 times and have always enjoyed my experience - ambiance, food and service. Whether it's a busy brunch time, an off hours meal or a dinner on the back deck I always leave content and satisfied with a lovely meal and very accommodating service. Last night my husband and I weren't sure if we should sit outdoors when asked our preference for an early dinner, but the hostess suggested we step out to check the temperature and then decide. We do love the view of the pond and it ended up being a perfect spot. We enjoyed the roasted beet salad and baked Brie as appetizers and then shared the Diver scallops and jumbo shrimp. Excellent! The roasted veggies that accompanied the seafood were flavorful and grilled to perfection. We ordered the strawberry shortcake made with buttermilk biscuit for dessert and were so thrilled with it.
