We went to the Thunderzone on New Year's Day and it was not crowded. Customer service was great, informative & friendly. The bowling lanes are modern & up to date. They do have 2 sides one cost a couple of dollars more, it looks nicer, flat screens, nice colored lighting & the lighting is dimmer. They have an arcade section & a sport bar. We ordered pizza & chicken wings, the food came quickly & was good. Parking : Free Price: $2-4 per game, you have to pay for bowling shoes. I would recommend this location. read more

It was incredibly disheartening and frightening as a mother to receive a call from my daughter saying she and her friends were being kicked out of this establishment and that the police had been called. This wasn't because they refused to pay their bill or were causing a disturbance. According to my daughter, the issue stemmed from the group choosing not to leave a tip after what they described as rude treatment from the bartender. Calling the police over a lack of tipping seems like a completely excessive response. Even more concerning, the bartender allegedly cursed at the group and made disrespectful comments, which should be visible on the establishment's security cameras. There are already far too few safe spaces for teens and young adults in Douglasville to gather. Experiences like this only make families feel less secure. Based on what happened, I cannot recommend this establishment to other families. My daughter and her friends left feeling humiliated and unsafe, and that is unacceptable. read more

We arrived at open. The location itself was very clean and tidy. Arcade games are a bit on the high side price wise but everything is electronic including ticket accumulation. The games itself was fun. Something there for everyone to play. Prizes weren't too bad either. There was some decent stuff there. We were asked whether we wanted to pay for two games or an hour of bowling. We chose the two games. Next time I would just choose the hour of bowling since that was plenty since there were 5 games of us bowling altogether. We bought food and that was good. The burgers and fries were huge. Cheese pizza was pretty good and my sister enjoyed her alcoholic beverage from the bar area. I'm looking forward to returning. read more

The food was really good, we ordered mozzarella sticks, nachos full loaded and chicken finger and french fries...nothing special but still higher quality than expected! The drinks were fabulous; I recommend the Red Rum Margarita . We opted for the "VIP" bowling area that was lit in neon which was 48/hour, the other bowling lanes were 40/hour. So I will be looking for a Groupon or their specials in the future. The only thing I will complain about was how close the lanes were, I mean smell others' body odor close but what can you do. We still had fun. Arcade games aren't really geared towards kiddos (toddler range for reference). Restroom was clean and fully stocked (mens and womens' alike). Staff were pleasant and very helpful. I have been here many times and the staff has always been very friendly. Today I had an issue that required a manager. She was rude and dismissive. I would never expect that from a manager. I have 5 kids and go there often and spend a lot of money. Now I don't know if I'll return. I definitely didn't feel like a valued customer. I'm very disappointed. read more

We love it here! My boyfriend has a three year old son and we take him here every time we visit the area. Bowling for him is free and shoes are only like $1. They always set up bumpers and let us use the ball guide. They even have 7lb balls for kids! There is a pretty extensive arcade section and it's cool that they use a card system. You can just keep adding money to the same card, which is where your tickets end up too -- no more physical tickets that can be lost or stolen! Patti is the manager of the kitchen and bar area and always makes excellent food. All staff are very friendly and welcoming, we've never had any problems! Came here for my cousin's 11th birthday and was really blown away at how friendly the staff was. It was my second visit and our party hostess was Aja...she was so friendly I thought she was a family friend! Lots of staff came in the party room to check on us, which was nice. And we were allowed to stay in the room a little past our time. The food, especially the chicken fingers were amazing. They were definitely homemade, not frozen. Kids enjoyed cosmic bowling, laser tag, the arcade, and bumper cars. It turns into a teenage hangout (with parents dropping off their kids) about 7pm. The service was horrible, the ladies working behind the counter, must have been deaf because they messed up our order. Not only that they wouldn't give us a refund on there mistake because "policy" after she returned 5 minutes later. I could have sworn the bowling was rigged also, because we would hit the middle of the pins, like one would in bowling, and it mysteriously had one pin left every time. Horrible experience and I've been numerous times. The bar manager was very rude and disrespectful. He was also okay with having his bartenders get drunk while they all take shots behind the bar. We waited awhile to get our food and then waited almost an hour to pay because our bartender who took our orders disappeared for 45 mins. When we said we weren't leaving a top the manager said he remembers people like us and I told him to never speak to my partner in that manor and he needs to train his bartenders on not getting drunk behind the bar so they could get a tip. I usually tip 20% and the service was so horrible I would not recommend anyone to go to this establishment and waste their money with the rude people that work there. read more

I was here recently with some friends and I have to say I did enjoy myself here. I was with a group and reserved 3 lanes in the VIP section, which for only an extra $2 per person is worth the cost. This was my first time here and I found the establishment very clean and welcoming. The only downside was that it was still fairly early when I ordered something to eat, about 7:00pm and there was no one else at the time waiting on food but it took nearly an hour to receive the food I ordered, hence why I could not give 5 stars. The food was just ok but it is a bowling alley and not a 5 star restaurant and so that is to be executed. Thunder Zone is a new attraction that is desperately needed in Douglasville. The only other bowling alley is on the far side of town and not that great anyways. I've been twice, once when it was very busy and once when it was empty. Both times the staff was attentive and pleasant. The place is large and clean so you never feel claustrophobic (except in the arcade which is small). Games and food/drink are a little spendy but it's worth it to have decent lanes in town. read more

I used to come to this location a lot to play Dance Dance Revolution. They have the only DDR machine in the immediate area that I've been able to find and it's dorky but I like to play around 3 times a week. Anyway, that's the only reason I come to this place and unfortunately will probably continue to come, because it sucks. I wouldn't be so harsh if I didn't have a particularly horrible experience here. I was here late on a Friday night a week or two ago around midnight, playing DDR with my boyfriend. There are signs all over the establishment that say kids have to be accompanied by adults 100% after a certain time at night. While my boyfriend and I were playing the game, these little kids (younger than 3) came up to the machine and started pushing the buttons with no parents in sight. It was really awkward and uncomfortable trying to keep these little kids from pushing the buttons for like 5 minutes, they were toddlers. So then eventually a family member grabs them and they all disappear. 10 minutes later this girl comes into the arcade, gets in between me and the game while I'm playing, and starts screaming in my face that I pushed her kid. I honestly didn't know what to do, the whole situation was so ridiculous. After demanding that I hit her to no avail, this girl literally punches me in the face. Then realizes that I'm calling the police and bolts out the door. Where was Thunderzone staff during this encounter? Nowhere to be found, until way after the fact while I was on the phone with police. Someone offered to bring up surveillance footage, which yielded nothing but an image of the group running out the door. The two people I spoke to were pretty much like *shoulder shrug* 'sorry'. It just sucked, and on top of that this place sucks to begin with. The two girls that work at the bar are barely functional as bartenders and the one is always drunk. I also once ordered a quesadilla here that was so ridiculously bad I was sincerely angry I paid $7 for it. Anyway I hate this place. read more

Very fun place for kids and teens and even the parents, but there are way too many teens working there. Two teens behind the counter were cursing in front of children and joking around saying they are closed and basically stealing people tickets. We decided to tell management who handled it very well. I have been here now 3 times. Every time it was anywhere from Ho-hum to flat out stinky service. We usually come for the games and pool. Haven't bowled yet as there was a much better bowling alley off Fairburn rd (until they went bust). The place reminds me of a Stars and Strikes but nowhere near that good. Everything you read about the food is true: it stinks and is overpriced. I stood at the bar to get my son a coke for over 20 minutes one time before some one even looked my way. I will go there because there isn't a better place to play pool near my house but I would rather do Stars n Strikes or Dave n Busters. Simply put........Update your arcade, maintain your lanes and bowling equipment so that the computer scores the game correctly. I was shocked how our lane gave me a score with two gutter balls. I was not shocked or impressed by the condition of the arcade. I think if you maintain it and update your space, you will definitely make a bigger profit and attract a much larger clientele. If you really want a nice experience go to Stars and Strikes in Hiram, and for a better arcade you are better off at Dave and Busters. We will probably not be heading back to Thunderzone ever again. read more

First time here and I really can't think of anything positive to say. Went on a Saturday night about 6pm, so plenty of time before they really started getting busy. Went with my girlfriend and her boys to do a little bowling before we grabbed some dinner. Told us there was a little bit of a wait, we said no problem and went over to their game area and loaded $40 on a card only to find only about half the games worked. Decently disappointed in this. I mean who has an arcade full of broken games?! So after we burned through the money in the poor excuse for an arcade ( about 30 min later) I went as asked how much longer and was told another 30 min. Ended up we waited over 70 minutes for a lane. Worst customer service I've ever experienced in a so called "family friendly" environment. I came here with my family and my wife has to have filtered water due to her thyroid condition, they argued with me for 10 min because my wife brought her container of filtered water with her and they discriminated against her condition until another rude manager came out and said she can come in but couldn't bring the gallon of water we brought and had to leave it in the car. Needless to say, they don't care at all about their customers. They only care about money and have no problem discriminating against you if you don't fit their profile of a desired customer, regardless of how much money you are willing to spend there. I just came from there and had a lot of fun. Until now the only thing we had like this was in Fairburn but Thunderzone knocks the Fairburn bowling alley out of the water. They have brand new arcade equipment, video games, bumper cars, a two-tier laser tag area! They also have a regular bowling alley and a VIP section plus a nice looking restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful. Overall It looks like a great place for a date night, a hangout spot or a place to take the kids. I have no complaints, and have lived in Douglasville for over 20 years. This might the most fun place we have and I hope it gets plenty of business. read more

Sorry but I gotta knock off 3 stars. I recently went bowling with my son and it was awful. The lane they gave us ( lane6 ) kept telling us we fouled meaning we went pass the line.. After telling some idiot who works there the problem I had to find a manager, I call her an idiot because she told me " just try not to cross the little line " lol I was lost for words.. The manager had us wait almost 15 min trying to add our score to a new lane.. I told that idiot we only bowled 3 frames and 2 of those had fouls on them the score isn't going to be right, he then suggested we start over on the new lane.. Lol I laughed and walked off. I needed a drink after dealing with two idiots within 20 min of each other. I ordered a shot of patron and my son got a coke and a shrimp cocktail, drinks no problem.. Well, if you want to have fun, this is not the place to do it. My group came here to bowl and we were told by management that we were too loud. My question is who the hell bowls in silence? Apparently there were some older people who were apart of a league who thought my group was too loud. My group was composed of teens and parents, of course we made noise.
