The downtown Atlanta Capital City Club which is the one I visited was designed by Beaux-Arts-trained architect Donn Barber in the Georgian style that characterizes prestigious New York City clubs such as the Colony Club. I came as a guest but you must be a member or escorted by a member to access this location, I have heard of weddings being held here as well. Very nice accommodations and a well stocked bar. The food was very nice as well. I could definitely see the enjoyment of being a member here, there is a very strict dress code as well. Gentlemen may not wear hats of any kind, shorts, jeans, open-toed shoes or shirts without collars. But once you're past all that, all drinks are on the house and you can have a really good time here!

It's one of the oldest private social clubs in the south. Truly five star, triple platinum service and amenities. I enjoyed my parents 45th anniversary dinner on the front porch a couple of weeks ago. The food was.. as always.. excellent. We were served the clubs signature buttery toasted crackers, some fresh oatmeal rolls with an assortment of butters and olive tapenade. I had the grilled octopus appetizer which was so tender and delicious. It was nicely marinated and grilled to absolute perfection with a complex balsamic vinegar glaze, and served over micro greens. I ordered the 16oz dry aged ribeye with a side of the most amazing truffle mashed potatoes I've ever had. They certainly don't skimp on the highest quality ingredients that can be obtained! The kitchen sent us an assortment of 4 or 5 sweet delights for dessert to share. We also enjoyed the live entertainment that was provided outside. So very pleasant. It was a fantastic evening as always. I look forward to returning very soon!

Yet here I am, more than nine months later, still disgusted by how I was treated by this blatantly discriminatory company. I hesitate to use that term, but there's no other way to describe what I experienced. In September 2023, I had a severe back injury that required surgery. Once I started working again, I returned to this company facility on Memorial because I enjoyed the atmosphere. I was such a fan that I visited six days a week, despite the inconvenience of having to walk 200 to 500 yards just to get inside due to limited parking. It was worth it to me. One day while I was working, I took off my shoes under the table. A staff member approached me and told me--very rudely-- it was against company policy and that I had to put them back on. I wasn't aware of the rule, so I complied immediately. A few days later, due to a lack of parking spaces, I waited in my car for one to open up. The same staff member who had spoken to me about my shoes came outside and told me to move. I explained that I wasn't parked--I was simply waiting for a spot. We exchanged words for about 10 minutes, and eventually, I told him I would report his behavior and tone to management. His response? "IF you do, it won't matter!" I found that hard to believe, so I wrote a letter to management the very next day. Their response? They terminated my membership. I was never a disruptive customer. I simply stood up for myself when I was treated unfairly. Most companies would appreciate loyal members giving feedback about what's happening on the ground. But not this company. Instead of addressing the issue, they chose to terminate me. I urge you not to support this company. They don't value their customers.
