When I arrived there wasn't anyone there affiliated with the space, but some of the members were meeting and encouraged my to go online to sign up for a drop-in membership. The space was outfitted with several working spaces. There are hightops and desks. The space had wi-fi exclusive to members and several electrical outlet, which are always a plus. I don't live in the area. I was visiting from Augusta, GA, but this will likely be a place I'd drop into if ever I'm in Atlanta again on business and need a place to get some work done for an extended period of time.

My wife and I are both self employed and worked from home last year until our son was born…read more Needing extra space, we stretched our budget to join the Midtown Industrious location because it was convenient to our home and met all our needs including access to a newly renovated gym in the building that was the highlight of our tour. Fast forward 5 months into our year long contract and access to the gym has been revoked unless we pay an additional $100 per month. Hannah Mostellar, the General Manager, has refused to honor their commitment, is unwilling to compromise on my monthly rate, and will not terminate our lease early so that we can find an alternative space. Instead she referenced my contract stating that services may be removed at any time at Industrious' sole discretion. Don't be fooled by the "extra amenities" as they can be stripped from you without warning or compromise. The only services they are contractually required to provide are printer services and internet. It's a shame that an organization that was recently acquired by a massive, publicly traded organization (CBRE), is unwilling to do right by small business owners. Look elsewhere if you are a small business owner who values commitment and compromise from your business partners.

Alkaloid is one of the best things to happen to me this month. I recently began working from home…read morefull time, and after a few weeks, I realized that I really missed the human interaction I was so used to. I found Alkaloid on Yelp and went to check it out immediately. The value that the owner, Katherine put into this space is amazing. I chose the "Flex" package, where I get 10 days per month, Monday-Friday. It's the perfect amount of days of access to the building. The package price is VERY reasonable. You have to pay two months at a time, which doesn't bother me because the price is pretty low (comparatively). Katherine has all local coffee in the FULL kitchens. She's got every method for brewing coffee that I know available. The space is clean, yet eclectic. It has the personality of an old cotton mill with modern updates and speedy WiFi. The other worker bees here are so kind and friendly. This space is right off the beltline, right near Krog St Market/Irwin St. Market. I am so much more productive now. I have the coolest job, and the coolest spaces to do it!

The house made chips were tasty but not hot and more chewy than cripsy - like I got yesterday's leftovers instead of today's fresh made. Overall I have high hopes for this place.
