We really enjoyed how Jason came over to our house and was able to sit with us right there and design the backyard while being able to walk the space to visualize it, rather than go to an office somewhere like other companies. He came back as often as we needed to finalize the design. Lindsey their operations manager was fantastic, she provided lots of communication on the schedule, updates, ect. She was always available whenever we had any questions or concerns. Tom came by at each step to check that everything was getting done correctly, really made us feel at ease as we progressed. All of their sub contractors were respectful and do great work. We really liked Miguel and his team, we even hired him for some extra work after the pool. They quoted us 2-3 months for the project to be complete and we were swimming just over the 2 month mark. Highly recommend!

We knew we were looking for a company with a solid reputation, and most importantly good communication throughout the build and good subcontractors. We went to a few pool & garden shows and compiled a list of our top 10, then narrowed those to our top 3 based on the above. We chose Robert & System Pools because of his initial professionalism and apparently quality, and wanted to support a small family business. During construction communication was difficult at best and supervision was absent. This meant that the worker bees worked without quality control. That resulted in misaligned tiles, questionable drainage, bad grouting and silly mistakes like a dozen or so travertine tiles with the printed country of origin showing and mismatched tiles. If the worker had just placed them differently by 90 degrees! Getting the tile contractor to fix it was an effort and they missed about 1/3 of the errors so I had to fix the rest myself. No Bueno. I waited a year to write this review to include warranty service. There were a few minor warranty issues, as expected. Communication and response to those issues could have been better.

The pool itself turned out nicely overall, but the experience at the end of the project became extremely stressful and disappointing. Before the project was fully completed, I identified several unresolved items including defective travertine, missing travertine installation around a deck jet area, and concerns regarding electrical completion. Despite these items being raised prior to final closeout, I was repeatedly told that everything would become a "warranty item" only after full payment was made. I attempted to work collaboratively and proposed reasonable solutions, including partial holdback agreements and written completion terms, but those were rejected. What concerned me most was the communication style once final payment became due. I received repeated threats of lawsuits, attorney fees, and ROC escalation despite clearly communicating in writing that payment was being made within a specific timeframe. Even after providing that timeline, additional legal threats continued. I understand contractors need to enforce contracts and collect payment, but professionalism and customer communication matter -- especially after a homeowner has already invested a significant amount of money and lived through a long construction project. In my opinion, the biggest issue was not the construction itself, but the pressure tactics and unwillingness to provide any meaningful protection or flexibility regarding unresolved items before final payment was made. If you choose to work with this company, I strongly recommend: - Documenting everything in writing - Clarifying punch list procedures upfront - Understanding exactly how final payment and warranty items will be handled before the end of the project I hope the remaining items are completed as promised and that no further escalation becomes necessary.

We hope our review spares other consumers from an expensive disappointment. We checked the BBB, AZ…read moreROC, and reviews. After 5 bids, we chose Creative Pool Plastering (CPP) to resurface our pool. From day one, CPP was careless and lacked respect for our property. They crunched our downspout and damaged the pool deck, without apologizing or repairing. After job completion, March 20, 2025, they started refilling the pool before they left. They left debris in the skimmer, tire tracks on the driveway, and had not removed the sticker on the new drain cover, now under water. We had to call Mike Sr again, to have them return to finish cleaning up the site. Our expensive disappointment with CPP is the color quality and appearance of the new Mini Pebble Finish. During refilling, we noticed a blotchy appearance to the color of the newly refinished surface. Over the next few weeks, areas lacking color became larger and more prominent. April 28 we contacted Mike Sr about this issue. I have a picture, taken on April 29, clearly showing the loss of color on a large area of our pool bottom. Mike Sr did not come to see our pool until May 14. He said he saw the issue right away. He asked to see the recent Today's Pool and Patio Water Analysis that we had been doing weekly, since startup. The test results were within the recommended range. Mike Sr took a picture of these printed test results, said he would talk to his material supplier, Randy, with Universal White Cement company, and he'd get back to us. After 115 days, on September 6, we still had heard nothing and contacted Mike Sr again. Randy finally came to see the pool on September 22. After another 30 days, on October 22, we still had not heard back from Mike Sr. We contacted an attorney who advised us to give Mike Sr one more opportunity to remedy the color loss of our pool finish. We notified Mike Sr that we had spoken with an attorney. He immediately responded. This was the first time during the prolonged period of Mike Sr's inaction and lack of communication, from May14 until October 22, that he immediately responded. Mike Sr's response was that Randy's report claimed the pool chemicals were out of range on September 22. As we previously stated in this review, the documented water analysis shown to Mike Sr on May 14 was within normal range. Within 39 days of CPP's completed work, we saw many areas of inconsistencies in the pool's finish as evidenced in our pictures,. Rather than standing behind CPP's work and materials used, Mike Sr said he would schedule a "Courtesy Inspection" with the ROC. The ROC investigator, Lisa, was scheduled on December 22 and we received her findings on February 3, 2026. Lisa's findings acknowledged there are many areas where the pool finish is lighter in color. At the inspection, we showed Lisa the April 29 photo of the defective color of the pool finish. Lisa's findings stated she couldn't make a determination based on photos she did not take. Lisa told us that our pool chemistry reports would not be of benefit in her determination. The inspection only addresses the quality of workmanship, not the quality and durability of the materials they use. The findings state the ROC standards hold the contractor responsible for an acceptable pool finish for only 30 days from completion. Mike Sr never contacted us after the ROC inspection. We are left with an expensive disappointment. We do not recommend Creative Pool Plastering.
