Update: Just took my Land Rover into the dealer and they diagnosed it to have the issue TVBA said it had the second time around with a price tag of $600 to fix it and to my surprise the dealers price tag is $374. That's $226 less than TVBA. As much as I wanted to love these guys and support local, I'm 100% convinced the dealer is the trustworthy way to go. I see most of these highly rated reviews are for easy oil changes, and alternator replacements. He took a simple Dinan Stage 1 tune, what should've been an hour job. And turned it into a 30+ day ordeal. After over a month without my vehicle, and spending over $4,000, I finally received my car back in running order. Brian didn't realize that the ECU's on 2020+ vehicles required a bench or FEMTO unlock for them to be tuned, and tried to write over the stock file, bricking my ECU and turning my car into a $50,000 paperweight. After breaking my car, the guy turned into a giant jackass everytime I called to check what was going on. Only until my assistant called a few days later, did he admit that he actually broke my car, and didn't know what he was doing. He planned to tow it to the dealership, which if you know anything about these BMW dealers, they won't touch a car with a bricked ECU. I then towed it to British Italian German, who fixed the car quickly and efficiently, because they actually know what they're doing. To top it off, Brian refused to pay for the damage he did to my vehicle, and basically told me to pound sand! If you have a newer German car, don't even waste your time or money with Brian. Take your car to British Italian German. Brian, this is just the beginning buddy! Don't worry, the attorney general will be paying you a visit very soon, and you'll be getting a love letter from my attorney as well. Best of luck to anybody who wastes their time going here. First of all, the are not affordable. They were more then every place I've recently got a bid. I paid 5400.00 5 yrs. ago. To start off, the first time i took my truck there, i had a small problem and the mechanic started to fix it with a zip tie.i walked into the office and had them fix it right. That should have been a red flag. Then i took it my truck back to have my transmission rebuilt. When ipicked it up, i asked the guy in the office if the same guy that did my last repair was the same guy that rebuilt my transmission. He said yes. I knew right then i was going to have problems. About 1 1/2 years later i started having problems. Hi rpms before it would shift, rough shifts, not shifting at all over 3000 rpms. I definitely would not recommend this place and i see lots of other complaints in yelp also. DO NOT USE AFFORDABLE TRAMSMISSION. I'm sure you will regret this choice...! JEFF

Dowdy's, however, went well beyond good service for me. We woke up with a car issue, did a bit of panicking, randomly found a place online that was near work, called the shop, and Dowdy's told us we could bring it in immediately if we wanted. They checked it out, diagnosed the problem, and then informed us that we were probably still under warranty and should see if we can get it repaired through the dealership with little cost to us. I'm not sure if the dealer/warranty will cover our issue yet, but I am pretty sure that I will be taking all of my future service to Dowdy's. They easily could have just fixed our car and not mentioned a cost saving alternative; instead of getting a quick buck, they have earned a future repeat-customer.
