We needed to buy a used truck quickly and brought it to 27th Street Auto for an inspection on an "as-is" purchase. They fit use in between jobs and we had our answer in a couple of hours. No charge. We received a complete list of scheduled maintenance, with prices, and a clean bill of health. They even filled the wiper fluid. We'll be back. read more

Brought car in for unknown issue and they couldn't look at it for 4 days. After doing some research, realized I probably just needed to take it to the dealership. Asked them to take a look anyways, and they charged $200 for a "diagnostic" that was plugging in the OBD computer and writing down the trouble codes. I do not recommend this place. read more

It's was my first time at 27 Automotive, but if i should need further automotive care, I will be returning to them. I took my diesel pickup to have the heater core replaced, they also replaced my evaporator also. Cost me 2100.00 I got my truck back. There was no heater or Ac, took it back again. The put a 80.00 dollar part and charged me 355.00 dollars. Still no heater or Ac. Took it back for the 3 time. They told me my compressor was bad. Went to another shop, they said my compressor was good! They took my heater box off and found a hose not connected ! The freon was low ! It cost me 500.00 more which 27th refunded ! They charge 180.00 hrs and do sub par work ! Beware ! Oakley moody charges 85.00 hr, just saying. read more

We learned of 27th Auto through the Boise State Parent's group, they are a trusted business for parents to point their college kids to for their cars. And that says it all - We've used on 27th St located at both the 27th and State street location and the additional new location on State in Eagle. And BOTH locations are open excellent. Our last services were for a Jeep Wrangler- and once again I just gave the keys to them with complete confidence that all the issues and needs would be addressed beyond my expectations. I brought my 2015 Audi Q5 in to have the brakes replaced and paid $1,800 for front pads plus rear pads and rotors. Not cheap, so I expected the job to be done right. The brakes started squeaking immediately, but I figured I'd give them time to bed in. Weeks went by and they still squeaked just as badly. After about three months, I went back and asked them to take another look. Their entire explanation was "that's just what Audi brakes do." That felt like a complete brush-off. I've owned this car long enough to know what's normal, and the brakes never squeaked like this before the replacement. Instead of diagnosing the issue or standing behind their work, they dismissed my concern and offered no real solution. At this point, I'm planning to take the brakes apart and fix the issue myself -- something I never should have to do after paying a shop this much money. I expected better quality and professionalism. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend them based on this experience. read more

I took my truck in recently because the "Service 4WD" light came on. Shortly after I received a text with 12 items they said needed fixed. I was really taken by surprise. A couple items were to perform the maintenance on the 4WD system. A few were for oil leaks. I authorized the repairs on the 4WD system, replace the valve cover gasket and crankcase vent filter (which was done when the valve cover was off), and to clean the engine oil off after the work was accomplished. I was shown a few pictures of my lower control arms and the metal was cracked bad on both arms. I denied this service as I was told it was safe to drive and they wanted $1479.54 to replace them! I also denied front differential fluid change ($567.68), rear differential fluid change ($938.31) and replace engine front cover gasket ($2268.32) When I got the truck home I crawled under it and inspected my control arms. There was not so much as a hairline crack anywhere! Also the engine had not been degreased. I returned to the shop the next day and the mechanic told me the cracks were in the rubber compound on the control arms. That is NOT what I was shown on the office computer. They did refund my engine cleaning fee which was nice. My valve cover gasket had some how gotten cracked and none were available so they repaired it with epoxy. A friend of my son is a mechanic at Cat and he told me where to order one. I picked it up and he had it fixed in about an hour. Infinitely cheaper! like most people I was a little skeptical to try a new mechanic but I'm so glad I found Trish and her awesome team on State St. in Eagle, I had a blown spark plug and exhaust manifold leak in my Expedition it was super loud and annoying however they new what I needed done and kept in contact with me as a few other issues arose witch communication is very important and they get it for sure ,I wasn't to sure what it was since I couldn't here the motor, taking it to them was the closest shop to me and figured id give them a shot and I'm so glad I did, I now have a new mechanic shop that is absolutely the friendliest, cleanest shop I've been to in a long time, I will be taking any other problems I will have straight to them from now on. I had taken a car in to get a diagnostic and I ended up with very little information about what mechanical issues my car had. It cost me $200 to find out things I already knew. For example my main concern was the leak that is occurring where the engine meets the transmission. I figured I would get some expertise information of what are some of the possibilities for this issue. For example, bad gasket or possibly torque converter (inspecting the transmission fluid helps in determining that.) However, all I got was a photo of an oil drop on the ground. Something I had already knew. If I wanted to find more about the drip I would have to authorize over $3000 just in labor! That doesn't include actual work on the car. I was very disappointed in the service I paid for and was insulted by the solution I was given. I'm not sure I would recommend your shop to my friends and family in the future. This saddens me since I met the owner of the shop in a social setting and he assured me of honest service. read more
