I attempted to go through this business because I read the reviews and thought it would be a great choice. But the front desk personnel were extremely rude and very snide. They were not thorough at all and based their diagnosis off of a visual inspection instead of a actual thorough assessment like professionals do. Was speaking to the Tech on the phone after he diagnosed trouble codes, and asked a few questions on parts replacement they told me I needed to clear codes, I asked if the codes persisted after replacement parts were installed would they reinstall my old parts as they were not the trouble are and the Tech hung up on me. When confronted when I picked up the vehicle he admitted to hanging up and said he did because I doubted his diagnosis. Seems the tech got Butt-Hurt when confronted about a Diagnosis, a little immature for a professional business. Won't be back, User Beware. read more

They were responsive on the phone, super fast service in-and-our for an emissions test. I have no complaints and would recommend them to anyone looking for an emissions test. I know they perform several other automotive service and can't speak to those. But I wouldn't hesitate to try them for other needs based on my experience. read more

I went there again for my December 2018 Smog Check. Same great, friendly, reasonably-priced service, which I had on the one previous occasion. I own a VW Eurovan. Other than the smog check, they don't really want to work on it, which is fine. At least they were "up front" about it. That won't stop me from going there for the smog check every two years. Took my truck in for quite a few things since it was an older truck and not been maintained over the years. I was able to leave the truck over the weekend with using the "overnight drop box" (they have envelopes you write what services you want, put your key in it and place it in a secured box) and received a call at about 0900 Monday morning with some of the diagnoses done already. The truck was there a week (its not a daily driver so it was fine) and I got a call about every morning updating me on my cost. I picked the truck up and it runs far better than when I dropped it off, and the price was less than what I had expected, even with quotes daily. I will definitely be coming back here. This review is long overdue. First off the office staff was wonderful. They were courteous and very helpful both over the phone and in person. Discussing repair options with their mechanic whose name escapes me was a real treat. The mechanic seemed narcissistic and took on an attitude he had all the answers and I couldn't possibly know anything automotive. The guy had a bad attitude and didn't have a clue about customer service. Their mechanic was a salesman and he did his best to find items needing repaired. The mechanic pushed for the replacement of parts which had been replaced only six months earlier. I begrudgingly agreed to replace the part as the mechanic told me he wouldn't work on my vehicle if I was going to half a** it. Ok, let's make it right. Then came the sticker shock of paying the bill. Boy did I pay a premium price for that part. I don't know why I paid so much, but I could have bought the same part, same name brand with same part number for around 200 dollars less. Did I leave their shop feeling taken advantage of? Definitely YES! Bottom line this shop will never receive any recommendation from me. They will never work on any of my vehicles. It was a lost opportunity to have a lifetime customer, but their treatment of the customer was poor. read more

I took my 2013 Tundra to the 4x4 Shop to get my new exhaust system installed. The work was done faster than promised. I was expecting 2 or 2.5 hours for labor and they knocked it out in 1.5 hours. Over priced and didn't listen to what I wanted. Charged for 6 hours for a job that should of been done in 2.5 hours. Over $750 to set the timing on my car. Plus it took over 2 weeks after they messed up the appointment on their books. I would not recommend Drove the car for the first time today, first of the AC isn't working and it was when I dropped it off. After driving for a few miles an engine light came on and the car will barely run. So basically I had to pay over $750 for them to screw up my car. read more

I just wanted to say thank you for fixing my truck! I had a check engine light on and needed an emissions test. They explained that I needed to fix what turned the light on and drive it before I could pass the test. They set me up an appointment and replaced a vent valve for the gas tank. I took my truck to work for the next 3 days (I guess you have to drive a bit for everything to be checked by the computer) and went back and passed my test! What I thought was going to be expensive and a hassle wasn't that bad at all. So again, thank you. read more

On two separate occasions I've had the 4x4 Shop do work on my car, they came highly recommended so I went with it...last summer I needed several things fixed, headlight had loose wiring, would turn on off and on a whim, blinker needed replaced, wiper fluid tubing, and brake pads and rotors needed replaced. At the time I let them know about the headlight, they wrote it off as being burnt out, replaced and did nothing about the wiring, and the headlight still gives me trouble to this day. In early May, the blinker stopped working (doesn't turn off when I turn my wheel the opposite direction) less than a year after the work was done. I went back in April 24th because I thought my rotors/brakes were going bad or my alignment was off. The issue specifically happens when you go 55mph or faster. They looked at my car, drove it less than 2 miles (didn't get it up to 55mph to experience my concern) did an alignment, told me there were no other issues, and handed it back over. Total cost was about $200. That evening while driving home, I noticed my TPS light was on. I took my car back in the next day and asked, Rhonda brought out the technician Aaron that worked on it and he attempted to get pressure readings from all my tires. The rear left would not read, and they told me the sensor was broken. I asked if it was something could have happened during the alignment as the light had not been in prior to my visit. Rhonda immediately became defensive and said no, could not have, see it's written down here. Well TPS light was written down, in pen, when the rest of my report was typed... They then offered to sell me a new TPS sensor, and quoted me what it would cost to install. Despite me explaining this issue only came up AFTER my visit there. I left it at that since they were obviously not going to fix it for me. Or attempt to make things right. I've spent a lot of money at their business, but safe to say I won't spend a dollar more. They are unprofessional and unsure how to handle confit, or listen to a customer concern. read more

Went in for a simple repair and got billed for a bunch of services I didn't ask for, several people have had the same issue here. Be sure to check their reviews on google also. I've had work done on several vehicles at the 4x4 shop over the years and have always been thoroughly satisfied with the results and pricing. Their business name can be a little confusing since they do all types of general automotive repairs and not just specialized 4WD work. I recently referred my daughter to them for a heater core replacement in her Durango. She had been pricing the work at various shops and was suffering sticker shock at the estimates (it is a time-consuming job). The 4x4 Shop did the work for a very reasonable price and she is completely satisfied. I've always found the staff (front office and mechanics) to be friendly, courteous, and extremely competent. I'm a hobby mechanic, but when things get too complicated for me I rely on the 4x4 Shop to handle the tough stuff. Whenever I needed to leave a vehicle with them they have always been quick to ask if I need a ride home. I also use them for periodic emissions tests on my fleet of clunkers. They are well organized and it takes only a few minutes to get the tests done. I'm a happy customer! read more
