I made an appointment on their website, got a follow up email requesting I select a different day to drop off. No problem, I accepted it. Got another email 2 days prior confirming my appointment and a text the day before again confirming. I show up to my appointment and they look at me puzzled saying I don't have an appointment and they can't find it in the system. I showed them the text and emails and they just said they don't have time in their schedule and don't see it in their system. I will not be back. If they are this unreliable with a scheduled appointment, I can't imagine how they would be actually working on my vehicle. read more

Steer clear of this place! They are hungry to do repairs not needed. They quoted $1,900 to replace power steering pump and gearbox, after claiming the steering wheel was hard to turn and claiming to have found metal bits in the fluid. THREE other shops said this is overboard and that they recommend a simple fluid flush to solve the problem. read more

During a visit to Idaho from Arizona, on the morning we were leaving to drive back to Arizona our check engine light came on. I am in the automotive business, so we googled a place to get this checked. They go right on it, found out it was the gas cap. The tech told us where to get a new cap. When we asked what we owed we were told "no charge, and have a safe drive back to Arizona". This kind of service shows that Plantation Tune Tech cares about their customers. I seriously could not be any happier with the service I received from every man working at this Tune Tech. They were super friendly and called me within an hour to let me know what the diagnostics determined was wrong with my vehicle. Told me the total cost to do the repairs and when I picked the car up a few hours later, that was exactly what I paid. No additional charges. They treated me with respect and explained what the repairs entailed. I would definitely go back again for servicing my vehicles and recommend them to others. read more

I didn't think you could trust in a mechanic until I found Plantation Tune Tech. When I first arrived in Boise, I had a lot -- I mean, a LOT -- of automotive issues. All the members of Plantation Tune Tech (particularly my man Ed) are supportive, informative, friendly, and even sensitive to cost limitations. The day after I bought my '91 Chevy van, someone ran into me smashing one of my headlamps -- one of PTT's mechanics had an old extra and GAVE me one!!! Just a follow up to my previous negative review of this business, After charging me nearly $800.00 more than start quoted, ( 1st estimate $1500.00) second additional charge, was told would be an additional $800.00. When I ranted and raved about the additional cost ED told me they would try and keep the cost down...when I picked up my vehicle they reduced the cost by $150.00. They told me they had taken it for a test ride and it was running great. I drove it home that night and it was misfiring and running rough. The next day I drove it, when I parked it I noticed it was leaking oil!! It never leaked oil before. I took it back to them, complained about their poor service and they kept the vehicle for two additional days. When I picked it up there was no additional charge, but they told me the misfiring was because of a couple of plug wires that were bad. The reason I took this vehicle to them in the first place is because it would stall on me from time to time. That was it. It ran fine when it was started, no misfires, no oil leaks, and, oh by the way my oil gauge worked fine.(it doesn't now, it shows NO oil pressure!!. I called another repair shop so I could get the oil gauge repaired, (I'd NEVER take it back to Plantation Tune Tech) Went out to start it this morning, and guess what? Yup, your right, it wouldn't start!! So now I have to have it towed to the other repair shop. This business has taken nearly $2000.00 from me and left me with a vehicle that is worst now than it was before I took it to them. Be aware!!! that your vehicles anywhere but here. read more

The only mechanic in my 25 years of driving that charged me less than I was quoted. Unbelievable service and I recommend everyone to them. We have several diesel trucks that they work on as. We also use them for a preputchase inspection and they have saved us a lot of money. read more

I've been going to see Kelly, Ed and the team at Plantation TuneTech for about a year and a half now. I literally will take my car no where else. However, if I have to for those weird off the wall things, I trust their judgment and recommendations on where to go. Anyway, they have always treated me and my car with the utmost respect. They've always been honest and straightforward. What really got my attention was getting panicky about something and requesting work that needn't been done and they were quick to tell me so. I've walked out of there "not" spending money anybody else would have said "sure, we'll take your money." DID NOT DO THE JOB THE FIRST TIME. LIED TO MY FACE. When we bought our vehicle we researched what problems were common with it, and the only thing we found was that the ignition coils had a tendency to go bad. We knew it was likely to happen soon, so we weren't surprised when it started misfiring. Diagnostics showed that it was a cylinder on the back side that was misfiring. We asked them to change all the coils and spark plugs while they were back there, as it was nearly $300 just in labor for them to get to the back side of the engine. We didn't want to have to pay that labor charge again. In turn, they made us feel like we didn't know anything and that there was no way to know why the engine was misfiring. They'd "let us know" what they found. Except they never did let us know anything and just called when the car was "done." All they did was change the spark plugs and flush the engine. Three days later the car was misfiring again. We complained because if they had just DONE WHAT WE ASKED THEM TO DO there would not have been a problem. We only have one car, so it is a big deal for us to take it in to the shop and preventative maintenance is a must. They said they would "take care of us" and "only charge us for the part." When I picked up the car the second time I told them I felt the charge for the part was high. Another mechanic had quoted us less than half that price. The man at the desk laughed in my face and said, "You can't buy it for that." Reality: Oh, yes I can. At any auto parts store in the nation. It only took me 2 minutes on Google to locate 7 different option, all less than half of what Plantation Tune Tech charged me. Didn't charge me for labor, my ass. THEY LIED TO MY FACE. read more

Buyer Beware! These guys are jerks and will rip you off. My advice is to not have them look at ANYTHING as it will cost you an arm and a leg to do so. Very expensive and did not disclose the work and pricing before providing us the bill. read more

I was getting ready to go out of town when I felt something which didn't feel right in my steering column. I checked a couple other places online and even called a couple but I didn't feel comfortable with taking my car to those places. I decided on Tune Tech and I was happy that I did. They told me what needed to be fixed and got it fixed quickly so I could travel. The work they did made the car feel brand new. The work was also excellent and I honestly felt like I was at home when speaking with Kelly and Ed. They were both compassionate to my needs and very professional when helping me. I would recommend them to anyone who needs work done. They even sent me a card later asking if everything worked out alright with the work they did. Great follow up.
