It's an okay pharmacy. Nothing special, has all of your basics but none of your extras, doesn't have a huge range of brands or anything and it's fairly small. The floors are kind of dirty looking. The staff isn't the friendliest. It does the job, though. read more

I had a serious attack of vertigo on Thursday to the point where I couldn't lift my head an inch. It was pretty scary. Luckily, my boyfriend hadn't left for work yet and was able to go on the search for dramamine (sea sickness medication). After stopping by a few stores right around the apartment, he came upon Thriftway and they had just what I needed. They were super helpful and concerned with my condition giving him advice on how to help me to feel better. 4 stars for taking such and interest in their customers and being helpful. read more

My dog starting having an allergic reaction one evening. I called the pharmacy to ask what time they closed and answer was 8 o'clock. Since they are a few blocks away from me, I bolted out the door and got there at 7:54 pm. The door was locked. After somebody finally came to the door after me banging on it, I was told the store was closed and only open for returns. The employee acknowledged that it wasn't 8pm yet and after much pleading from myself and the other customer that needed to get in, we were allowed in. The employees had already started to turn the lights off and had their bag/coats on. They then were resistant to even ring up the benadryl I needed. Apparently, customer service was not a priority at this store. read more

A neighborhood staple for me. Small, basic, stocked, well priced. The pharmacists are always quick and helpful.

I really love this place! They have a great selection of drug store items, even tons of organic products. The prices are extremely reasonable, even cheaper then at the chain stores. The staff has always been super nice and friendly, which is often hard to find in this overcrowded & overworked metropolis. It feels great to support a Mom & Pop place type of business. Thriftway really works hard to be a great drug store & it shows! Another plus which is a biggie for me is that they take credit cards and don't even charge a minimum. That is a rarity to find in this area and pretty much overall in New York. Pretty much when I ever I go to the Duane Reade on Flatbush, there is a line out the door. That is the only only drug store I really go to in the area for good deals. Thriftway is in a great location, which is super convenient. I am proud that an honest business like them is in the community. read more

I paid for 30 Ambien pills and they only gave me 23! I only noticed when I got home when the bottle seemed a little short and I counted them. Don't bring your prescriptions here. When I went back to get my 7 pills they said I had to come back on Monday to see a different pharmacist. I then asked "this means I am inconvenienced twice" they said "Yes" Prices for household items are well priced. My next review is to the Better Business Bureau. read more

I have been using Thriftway Pharmacy for years, and they have always been great. The pharmacist - David - is highly knowledgeable and very friendly, as are all of the staff there. I have for years now counted on them to be a second pair of eyes who have sometimes caught mistakes my doctors have made by prescribing medicines that conflict with each other. Not only that, but I frequently ask David or his team about possible side effects of the many medications i take, and have always found their advice to be spot on. I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else. read more

On the one hand, they say they close at 8:00 PM, but the door was locked at quarter of. I know, because I needed to pick up my prescription, but I was at work until 7:00 PM. On the other hand, the pharmacy has been relentlessly awesome. They tell me how long it'll take, they're usually under that estimate, and they always have my meds. read more

I love this pharmacy. They are courteous, inexpensive and have quality products, and I love the pharmacy department. The staff is very knowledgable and really care about the customer and always answer questions in detail. They are always timely, thorough and I have a favorite pharmacist there. UPDATE: I have had 2 bad experiences there now....when the pharmacists I LIKED is not there, I am not treated well by the staff. They act indifferent, are lazy and suspicious and I am not recommending this place any longer. read more

This place is awful. It was never a *great* pharmacy, but it was at least serviceable and the employees were mostly nice. It has taken a severe turn for the worse since the last time I'd been. The employees are a mix of rude and dismissive. The front counter was never very friendly before but the pharma staff has REALLY gone downhill in the last year. I will never go back again. read more

Love this place. It's super close to my new apartment. It's great to have a nice drugstore nearby. They have the essentials, as well as various odds & ends, and a gloriously extensive haircare aisle. (The makeup selection is lacking however) The prices are reasonable, and the people are kind. read more

Let me start by saying that I used to LOVE this pharmacy. The team they had in place was amazing, helpful and remembered you when you came in. Apparently, there was a change of management. They are incredibly rude, disorganized and actually gave me the wrong prescription once and tried to talk me into using it. It's worth walking the extra blocks to find a pharmacy that takes more care with their customers. read more

I have been Thrift care Pharmacy for the past 20 years this new management took over they help me when I did not have any refills they call me they made sure that all was well with me and insured that I receive my prescription even though I was having some issues with my insurance card read more

It was one of those days when everything was going wrong, and then on top of it all I got very sick, had to leave work early, and I went to this pharmacy because it was the first one I came across... and the people here were so nice to me it made me want to cry (admittedly I was already in a vulnerable emotional state, but still). Everyone, especially the shorter man with glasses, was extremely kind and it meant a lot to me in the midst of my horrible day. read more

T his pharmacy has saved my day so many times -- whether I need to quickly grab a thank you card, construction paper, or just the essentials. The staff is really friendly and I love their outdoor window displays -- they are always so festive and right on the season: Mother's Day, VDay, Christmas, etc... I have yet to use their pharmacy, but the selection of essentials that this place carries is great. read more

We've been in the neighborhood a long time. They've never been great but now it's pretty terrible. My most recent visit the pharmacist didn't answer my question. No one cares here. Walk the extra blocks to go to Kings or Duane Reade on Flatbush. Far superior. read more

Thriftway Pharmacy is a great neighborhood joint. Though it is no CVS it basically has everything you need from a cold medicine to wd-40 and all at reasonable prices. Big plus for being open on Sunday! read more

The worst Pharmacy I have ever dealt with in my life. The Pharmacist is SO rude and very unprofessional. Every time I have dropped prescriptions off there is some issue. They never call to let you know if a medication is out of stock. They have refused to fill prescriptions for me for no reason. The worst customer service ever. They have shorted my pills before and then wouldnt do anything about it. The pharmacist needs to be fired. I have started going to Ludwigs up the street and Richard there is AMAZING. He knows me by name, always has what I need and is very very kind. I will NEVER EVER go here again. Please do NOT support this Pharmancy. read more
