After driving 20 minutes for a 6 pizza carry out order, half of my rocket pizza was missing--after calling to inquire why, I was told they leave off the arugula for carry out so that it doesn't wilt and there was nothing they could do about it. Maybe he forgot to provide or offer it on the side? It would have been nice to know ahead of time or at pick up that my two ingredient pizza was essentially cut in half but still full price. Bottom line, be sure to check your pizzas at carry out, because they dont seem to care once you are out the door. Other than the missing ingredient and poor service, food was good. read more

Looking for an upscale pizza date? This is your spot. Every time I have gone to 800 Degrees I have enjoyed my experience. They have a great beer and wine list. Very diverse. The overall look to the place I would describe as modern. Modern but cozy. The open kitchen is awesome. Not visible from the bar, but a treat if you are in the family dining area. Watch your pizza be tossed and baked right in front of your eyes. I recently enjoyed a dinner out with 3 friends. We started off with a Large Caesar salad. We all got a decent amount. I would say it feeds about 3-4 comfortably. Not a lot of croutons so if you are crouton fan ask for some extras! We then ordered two pizzas: Carne and Bianca. As a green olive fan I loved the Bianca. All their pizzas have bubbly crust and and thin throughout. The Bianca has a white sauce, mozzarella , green olives, basil, and garlic. I think I was such a fan due to the white sauce versus red sauce. It was very light and flavorful. The Carne is a meat lover's dream. Topped with pepperoni, sweet sausage, and bacon this pizza fills you up. With the four of us we had 1 piece left over at the end. Our service was good, not great- but I have a hunch our chattering kept him away and made him think we had not looked at the menu. He was also the bartender for the night so his section was busy with the few tables he had and the rail. Our bill split 4 ways was $8 a piece. Not bad at all. Drink prices had a wide range from cheaper beer to more expensive wine. Could get pricey if you get a few glasses of wine. Overall I love the atmosphere and who can beat gourmet pizza in a modern space with reasonable prices? read more

I love this place. You get a personal pizza and they have a lot of ales available. What I really like about their beer menu is that they have the location that the beer is brewed on the menu. I like to try local beers, and you can get a variety of of beer that is brewed in Indiana and the surrounding states. They do not serve your typical pizza there. I would avoid getting the pizza with arugula on it, because it comes with so much arugula on it that you can not see your pizza. I ended up getting it one time I was there and took 90% of the arugula off of the pizza and still had a decent amount of it on my pizza. Besides that one pizza the rest of their pizzas are fanatic. I'm not a huge fan of their food or atmosphere. It feels like a large chain and the food is subpar. I would never choose to go here, however if I'm in a group of people who want to go I can always find at least one thing to eat. read more

First, to clear up an error in a couple of previous reviews, this is NOT a chain, but a locally owned business with another location out north. The bar was hand built by one of the owners relatives. We almost always sit at the bar, and have always gotten friendly service. There are a couple of muted televisions at the bar. They have a very nice craft beer selection, and while the serving sizes are sometimes a little smaller than I like, prices are reasonable. The food is always very good. The mista salad is great as are the squash and meatball appetizers. I have tried all the pizzas at least once, and have never been disappointed. Took my grandson and sat outside once, and he loved the kids pizza, a real pizza, not the crap stuff restaurants so often pawn off on kids. Plenty of parking around back. Worthwhile. read more

Tasty vegan options! Go on Sunday and you'll be spoiled with several vegan pizza options and dessert. They can veganize most any pizza the rest of the week but that's just switching to vegan cheese or holding the cheese. Check them out. My only criticism is that the crust is a little weak, making for a limp slice of pizza. I prefer a crust that can hold all of the toppings but it's not a deal breaker. Met friends for lunch on a weekday. The weekday lunch specials were so good! Five of us ordered one - (choice of small pizza and choice of salad). The Caesar Salad was excellent and served in a chilled bowl. Maybe my best restaurant Caesar ever. My "Verdura Pizza" was the right size for me, with a thoughtful well-balanced combination of ingredients. The room was cold, a bit dark, and not especially welcoming, but the excellent pizza and salad made up for it handily. You should try it! read more

I love, love, love their bruschetta! Their Mista Salad (half is plenty for one person) is delicious. They have a great selection of wood fired pizzas. The crust comes out crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside - deliciously chewy. The wood firing makes them taste delicious. They have started offering pasta too. When I went to this restaurant over the summer I would have given it 5 stars, however I was extremely disappointed when I ate there last night. The pizza's flavor was more bland, the crust was WAY under done (both the gluten free and regular crust), the sauce didn't go to the crust, they were skimpy on the cheese and the toppings were are clumped in one area. All six of our pizzas came out this way. If you are going to pay over $10 for a personal pizza, I expect much higher quality than that. This is by far my favorite pizza place. My kids love it as well and that's always a plus. Pizza is always cooked to perfection with free chocolate chip cookies as you leave. I only gave it 4 stars because the service is anything but exceptional. I was even told once that they didn't give me a straw because they didn't want extra waste. Stopped in for Sunday lunch, salad, garlic bread, pizza and dessert. The Mista salad was a good light salad that was appropriately sized, had a nice vinaigrette dressing, pine nuts and a blend of greens with a little cheese and a couple of cherry tomatoes. Garlic cheese bread was a nice fresh bread, not unlike their pizza crust with a light coating of olive oil and Parmesan cheese. Again, not a huge plate of it, but an appropriate amount for the two of us after splitting the half salad while waiting for the pizza. 800 degree pizza with roasted red peppers, spicy sausage and ricotta cheese was awesome. Sausage was a bit spicy for the wife, but I really liked it. It was a high quality sausage, well spiced with a minimal amount of fat, not at all greasy. Definitely high quality ingredients in this pizza. Olive oil cake for dessert was taken to go after the preceding three courses. The cake was good and had an interesting orange flavor and was topped with whipped cream and thinly sliced strawberries in juice (probably canned). On the way out we were offered chocolate chip cookies which were good quality and satisfied our sweet tooth until we were home to eat the olive oil cake. Service was good and efficient and we plan to try their Lima Road location to see if it's equally as good. read more

I am visiting Ft. Wayne and was really hungry for a wood-fired pizza. Drove across town and was very disappointed. The Vendure pizza had great toppings but the crust was pale and way undercooked. What's the point of having a hot oven if you are not going to cook the pizza. It was limp and gooey. read more

I came in for lunch and sat at the bar. The atmosphere is relaxed and dimly lit, relatively casual. I observed business attire and jeans, equally present. I was greeted by a friendly bartender and perused the beer list, which wasn't expansive but had a good variety- more catered to the craft brew drinker. I ended up with the lunch special and the chop salad was wonderful, however I ordered the pollo bbq pizza and was underwhelmed. The pizza overall reminded me of a frozen California Pizza Kitchen, but I feel this may have just been due to my topping selection. You know, I'm mixed about this place. I've brought friends here, shown it off to family, and admit that their food is some of the best around. However, a recent experience makes me want to take all that back. We often travel as a while family, 10 people going out is nothing. We call ahead, and we'll wait, without a problem. But, when we're told that the wait is 45 minutes, and then 45 minutes later are told it will be at least another 30 minutes, after witnessing a member of the kitchen staff tell someone that they can have the back room for large parties because they were friends and me and my family are stuck waiting, well, then we're talking about moving into poor service. read more

The staff was very good and allowed us to hang around 45 minutes after they closed. They never said a word and seemed genuinely happy we had a good time. We had the pane pazza, the mista salad, and split a pizza (my half was the quattro formaggio, aka four cheese). I am a fan, but the pizzas could be better if they were more consistent. We ordered three Hawaiian pizzas--two for the table and one to-go. Amazingly, all three Hawaiian pizzas came out noticeably different. Haha. Mine was more like cheese pizza. The other Hawaiian looked like it had more stuff. The Hawaiian to go actually had the items that it stated on the menu.
