    Barrel area in brewery

4.25 rating. The location is tucked in the North Side of the city off a Main Street. You have to enter up a long flight of steps. Once inside the space is bright and welcoming. While I was there we had some delicious pizzas, some good apps. I tried several different ciders and liked them all. I did get a tour of the brewery downstairs. It was interesting. I really liked that they sourced the apple juice from a farm not far away. They made quite a wide variety of ciders. I would like to go back again soon.

The food was absolutely delicious- I had a variety of pies (pepperoni, apple roasted, pierogi) and was obsessed with the roasted apple! I also treated some great dip options (buffalo chicken, buffalo cauliflower, Mexican street corn, pimento cheese) and they were all equally so good. The service was fast and friendly. Great vibes and a great ambiance I love coming here for trivia nights and hanging out with friends. Looking forward to my next visit!

The cutest place with the best Cider in ALL of Pittsburgh! I fell in love instantly! This brewery is so cute and the inside is adorable. I loved how passionate Bryan was about the process of creating the Cider. He had a vast knowledge and a clear admiration for create new and fun flavors of Cider and the history behind the process! The pizzas were sooooo good. Fresh and made to order. Great toppings and choices. As well as their Ciders. SOOOO many different options to choose from. You have to try Northern Sky if you go! It's not too sweet and it's not too tart! The perfect blend! Oh did I mention..... there is PLENTY OF PARKING such a win for anyone worried about where to park! Also all the waitstaff is super friendly!

GREAT CIDERS, PIZZAS, and VIBES! Tried Threadbare Coder House for the first time last night - I am REALLY late to this party - and it was fantastic! First off, if you're a toddler mom like me, you know a night out with the kids can be more stressful than fun. Threadbare was totally kid friendly and has an amazing corner with giant light bright boards and magnatiles for the kids to play! It was amazing and the most relaxed my husband and I have been out in a long time! Like it was so nice that even if the service and food hadn't been good I would have returned for that feature alone- thank goodness that wasn't the case! We ordered two pizzas - the buffalo chicken and chicken bacon ranch. Both pizzas were sooo good! We especially loved the buffalo chicken! The chicken is a slow cooked braised cider chicken that is so flavorful. The ranch on both pizzas is homemade and herby, and the dough is a homemade sourdough crust which was perfectly crisp and thin. Very well executed. Service was fantastic! We felt very well taken care of, we were given the cookie for the kids on the house and the food and drinks were out quickly. Our favorite cider was probably the tiki which is a seasonal recipe and has a hint of coconut. It was delicious. We also really liked the imperial cherry and guava flavors. The bridge city bubbly was nice but sweet lovers beware - it's very dry. Overall we loved our visit to Threadbare and will be back soon! Our only regret is that we didn't know about it sooner!

How is it I've never written a review? I guess it's just another spot I regretfully take for granted. The ciders are so far beyond awesome. Pizza is always super yum. Staff clearly love their jobs, they all seem like a happy family.

A little hidden gem in Spring Garden. Threadbare offers both indoor and outdoor seating. There's a very relaxed and casual vibe and a great atmosphere. The staff is very chill, but there when you need anything. The food is delicious. We were there for the Sunday brunch menu and everything we had was tasty. If you are not sure what cider to try, they offer multiple different flights to taste test a few smaller sized ciders.

Cider is always great, they have so many different varieties- including mixed cocktails, mead, and beer. Ordered the flight (the pear cider was my fav). Also ordered the sourdough breadsticks (has cheese on top). Sauce felt very generic like from a cheap jar or a can, not great. But the sticks themselves were really good. Outdoor space felt a little dingy right next to the parking lot, but it's always just nice being outside and I appreciate the fact they offer this space. Inside is gorgeous tho. Threadbare has wonderful people working there, everyone is so sweet and helpful. But that said, we decided to go on a night with trivia, and they must have been severely understaffed. It took 35+ minutes to get our drinks and over 45 for our breadsticks. Everyone was doing their best and staying positive which I appreciated, but the wait time was not great. I'll definitely be back though, this time hoping to get our orders faster. :-)

We made a reservation for our family of 2 adults and 2 small children. When I first called to find out if Threadbare was family friendly, I was met with enthusiasm. The staff was excited to share that we would have a table near the "lite-brite" wall so our children could play. The kids LOVED it! They also loved the magna-tiles and jenga blocks. We ordered spinach & artichoke dip, Caesar salad, 5-cheese pizza, and the roasted apple pizza. We really liked the pizzas. The salad was yummy and crisp also. The artichoke dip could have been a bit more thick and cheesy, but we still enjoyed it. As for cider, we tried the Foundation Flight, mead flight, build-your-own flight, and also had a glass of the boquet de rose. I don't think there were really any that we didn't like. We did enjoy some more than others, and some had more flavor than others. For example, the honey mead was really strong with honey flavor. A bit overpowering. The limited release apple cider option didn't have strong enough flavors. I also found the Foundation options to all taste quite similar to one another. I liked all of the Foundation, but I think if I had to choose, I preferred the rose and... farmhouse? No, Allegheny Dry. No... farmhouse. See? I can't choose. :) The service was great. The staff was all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful in each of our experiences with them. We look forward to visiting Threadbare again soon!

Great hidden gem in the area. Amazing selection of ciders and flight options. I was not expecting the pizza to be so good. Very nice surprise. Will come back for the pizza alone. Plenty of seating and pretty chill ambiance inside.

Went here with my sister and her fiancee after the Pompeii exhibit that was showing over in the science center. Their big thing is their drinks so the food menu is kind of limited. That said, they do have pizzas that they make there and they were really good. I checked their menu and it doesn't look like they have the donuts anymore, but I enjoyed that as well. I imagine their cookies must be good too.

Big fan of Threadbare cider and their cider house on the North Side! I've never had a cider here that I didn't like and often stop by to pick up a few bottles for myself and my family. They have a great variety of ciders and a drink menu that is always changing, so there's something for everyone's taste. I stopped by the restaurant a couple of times this summer (one for a really fun trivia night!) and the food is great, too! Really enjoyed the cheese pizza and artichoke dip in particular. I'd definitely recommend checking out their events list to see what's coming up.

I tried Threadbare for the first time this weekend with my family and I have to say it was a great experience. There were plenty of options for pizza as well as cider, and each one we tried was delicious! There was a very chill atmosphere and overall ambiance. The staff was also very friendly and helpful in all recommending their favorite pizzas and ciders. There is also a special discount on holiday 3-packs of cider going on right now, so we took one to-go. We will definitely be back though!

We checked out Threadbare for the 2nd time this weekend with our friends. The last time we went was winter so this time we decided to enjoy the outdoor area this time. We all had fun choosing flights and testing out the different flavors. The Bouqet de Rose was really nice. They were all quite refreshing on a warm, sunny day just not my first drink choice. We got pizza and it's woodfired oven style which I really like. They had some interesting brunch pizza options, but fomo had me pick the classic pep. It was good just a tad heavier on the cheese than I'd personally like. We ran into our other friend upstairs (Pittsburgh is a small world lol) and they said the hummus was bomb. This is a fun spot in Pittsburgh to check out with friends! Kind of off the beaten path, but worth checking out.
