Their collection of…read moreplants varies by the season but I'm always pleasantly surprised to see new plants in the store whenever I go in. The vibe of store is super relaxing and the smell of eucalyptus is strong and inviting when you walk in. This shop definitely gives off more high end vibes. There are more down to earth spots in the neighborhood where prices might be a bit lower for the same thing. City Grows is more curated and aesthetically pleasing and is a really nice experience from start to finish overall. The back patio is beautiful and it's fun to see all the outdoor plants thrive. I've bought several plants from here and the quality is on par with the price. Plan on spending a bit of money but you'll be happy with the results and lifespan of your plants.

He said they'd swap a bottle sometime, which would be really cool. Lastly I asked about the Bourbon. Another guy was there that made it. He said it was made in Dallas, TX. We sampled it and wow it was some good shit. We purchased a bottle, first batch bottle 47. Excited to try that out soon again. Overall outstanding place. Small in capacity. No restrooms because it's a place to pick up for bottle sales and or sample and go.

Her first set of inspiration photos was really cool, but not quite what we were looking for. So we sort of started from scratch and she seemed excited to try again. Many of our emails went unanswered, but she later responded and said she had some health concerns and so wasn't able to answer email, but was doing better now. Take 2 was much closer to what we were looking for. We actually met her in person at the shop in Pittsburgh (we live in Ca) to discuss it. There were a couple of suggestions/requests we had to modify the plan. Again she seemed on board - super friendly and helpful, even offered to help out extra with non-floral design (plates, chairs, etc.). At this point, we absolutely loved her! She had a lot of unique ideas. However, after this meeting she never responded to our emails. Months went by and many emails were sent. In my last email to her, I asked fairly simply for her to just let us know if she still wanted to/was able to work with us, and that we would understand if she felt like we weren't a good fit or if she was too busy. I wrote that if I didn't hear back from her, we would assume that she wasn't going to be able to work with us. We had not paid her a cent (nor been asked to) at this point, but she had clearly put in a good amount of work preparing ideas and slides and meeting with us and such. So we were really surprised to not hear anything back from her. But about 1.5 months later without any response, we still hadn't heard back so we moved on to a different florist. What an odd experience! Great ideas, but not reliable (or maybe she is reliable if she likes you? I really have no idea, we never got any feedback from her!).

I ordered a truck load delivery of topsoil and was appalled by the quality. Full of pebbles and a dust-like quality that hardly resembled soil. I called the owner to express my concerns. He returned my call and said pebbles should be minimal, but that's about all he said. We will not order or buy from him again. Side note: The owner has a "GUNS ARE WELCOME" sign hanging behind the register. While we were checking out, my 7yo asked him why he has the sign hanging since guns usually are not welcome (in our home, that'the case). The owner didn't seem able to answer and just shrugged it off. This a fair question considering that 2nd graders undergo active shooter drills on a regular basis in this country. We miss Jenkins!
