Engine house 25 is an old fire station that is also home to the Clemente museum. Wines can be ordered online for either store pickup or shipped to your home. I needed a basic Riesling wine for an event. I placed my order online and parked in their lot nearby to pick it up. You need to ring the buzzer at the entrance of the Clemente museum in during operating hours in order to pick it up. The man who greeted me found my order and while waiting for it got a fast glimpse of this wonderful museum dedicated to a Pittsburgh Pirate legend. All the wines are corked and labeled with their trademark or depending upon brand with the number or image of Roberto Clemente. I took my wine home, refrigerated it and once I uncorked it was able to sample some of its sweet goodness. The wine had a fruity taste to it and was indeed worth savoring. I'm grateful for the opportunity to purchase quality wine with good service and dedication to both an historic landmark and a notable Pirate player. Located on the cusp of Lawrenceville on Penn Ave, they have their own parking lot.

We each had the flights of wine and each of us chose different wines depending on our preferences. 8 glasses later, I recommend food to absorb some the alcohol as some are quite strong for wine. Well, the website said that their kitchen was open when we got there the bartender let us know that it was in fact not open and that it was only beverage service. That was a slight disappointment to us as we probably would've hung out later if we could've been able to get food. I did a flight and tried the honey, the apple, the kilted barrel cast, and the Wapsie. Overall, I thought they were all pretty decent. The kilted definitely has a lot of peak and drinks very closely to a scotch. The honey one for me was my favorite and I ended up buying a bottle to bring home. My husband got an old-fashioned made with the Wapsie. He enjoyed it but liked it even more after the ice melted a bit. We were a little surprised that they close so early on a Monday but they close even earlier on Sundays so highly recommend that you pay attention to the operating hours if you're planning to visit.

The decor in the bottom floor was awesome with wine barrels, wooden tables, and a cigar room. For my taste, their red wine selections all had a little bit of a spicy finish, but I'd love to go back and give them an another try. Overall, it wasn't the best fish fry I've had, but I appreciated their heart and service. We actually stayed a while and they didn't rush us out.
