Hahn Nursery Garden Center & Greenhouses

Hahn Nursery is a family-owned garden center that opened several decades ago. It sells a wide…read morevariety of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, house plants, vegetable plants, and herbs. This nursery also offers landscape consultation, delivery, and planting for additional fees. In recent weeks, my husband and I have visited this nursery multiple times. I felt impressed by the variety of plants and their available sizes. Some examples of plants were zinnias, hydrangeas, coneflowers, grasses, Japanese maples, butterfly bushes, azaleas, boxwoods, cypresses, junipers, hollies, yews, arborvitaes, spruces, blueberries, roses, tickseeds, black-eyed susans, and many more! Of course, many plants were not yet full-grown, but they were a decent size. I am in the process of installing plants in my front yard. I felt unsure of what plants to choose and where to install them, so I sent an email to Diana at Hahn Nursery to ask her to schedule a 1-hour landscape consultation with me. The next morning, Diana called me to set up an appointment for three days later--fast! On the day of the appointment, Diana arrived at my house on time. We needed only 30 minutes to look at my yard and to discuss the types, numbers, and locations of plants. Diana drew a layout on a piece of paper, and she wrote down the names of several potential plants. The total cost for this consultation was $85. Diana invited me to text or call her with any additional questions. After she left, I texted her to ask about plants that could grow on a sunny clay hill, and she soon responded with a few ideas. A couple of days later, my husband and I returned to the nursery to begin to buy shrubs. Diana was there, and I asked her to help me to finalize the best shrubs to choose. She helped me to choose four boxwoods and two gold mop cypresses. She also recommended that I buy a bag of Bio-tone fertilizer. The total cost was $403. This cost would have been roughly twice as much if I had purchased delivery and installation, but Diana assured me that my husband and I were capable of installing the plants ourselves. Later that day, my husband and I did a great job with installing the plants in our yard. In several days, my husband and I will return to this nursery to purchase additional plants that Diana helped me to choose, including potentillas and arborvitae. I look forward to admiring my front yard after I complete it! I also feel so happy that I will save several thousand dollars by doing the work myself rather than hiring a professional landscaper.

The staff has always been very nice and helpful. We were in search of sod well past the season and they gave us their last bunch with a heavy discount. Even if you aren't in search of anything, walking around here is a nice activity in itself.

It is written now…read moreas not many people look for a nursery review late fall and winter but rather the spring. My daughter's wedding was on October 28th. We were hunting live mums for decorating. We called MULTIPLE local nurseries. No one was willing to help, commenting that we could purchase what was left at the end of the season. As I continued down my list, I called best feeds on Wildwood. I had great experiences there before. I was shocked when the gentleman that answered the phone said to stop in and that they could certainly do something for me!!! He introduced me to two female staff members who were experts in matching colors, mums that bloomed later in the season, and sizes that I would need for each space. They also taught us how to make the blooms open at just the right time. The day of pick up they were all organized on a rack and ready to go. Can't say enough about the plant knowledge that the staff possesses. I really won't shop anywhere else for my plant needs moving forward. Can't say enough about how much it made her wedding day and the complements we received about our outside decorations. Cathy B

The one problem I had was there where virtually no customer sales help at all and after about 15 minutes I gave up and decided to leave. In the entire time I was there not one sales person came up to me and asked if they could help me find something???????? For me that is poor customer service even if they have nice plants and trees and a huge selection customer service should always be #1.

On two occasions, I saw on Home Depot's website that the products that I needed were available at this store in Ohio Township. For the first time, I placed my order online, and in not even 30 minutes, the store emailed and texted me to notify me that my order was ready for pickup. Super-fast service! Later that day, I drove to this store and walked up to the pickup counter. An employee immediately and courteously greeted me, looked up my order in her computer, and brought my products out in a shopping cart. Then the employee wished me a great day. For the second time, I arrived at the store, found the products--boxes of floor tile--on a shelf, and realized that they were too heavy for me to lift. An employee came and helped me to load the boxes onto a cart. He wished me a good day. I used the self-checkout machine, and I experienced no problems with it. An employee nearby thanked me.
