For a few years, I have occasionally shopped at this Home Depot store when it has merchandise that is not in stock elsewhere. On two occasions, I saw on Home Depot's website that the products that I needed were available at this store in Ohio Township. For the first time, I placed my order online, and in not even 30 minutes, the store emailed and texted me to notify me that my order was ready for pickup. Super-fast service! Later that day, I drove to this store and walked up to the pickup counter. An employee immediately and courteously greeted me, looked up my order in her computer, and brought my products out in a shopping cart. Then the employee wished me a great day. For the second time, I arrived at the store, found the products--boxes of floor tile--on a shelf, and realized that they were too heavy for me to lift. An employee came and helped me to load the boxes onto a cart. He wished me a good day. I used the self-checkout machine, and I experienced no problems with it. When the basement flooded and needed completely redone, painting the whole house, fixtures to hang pictures with, and tons of garden items... Home Depot has so many items you need at decent prices. Sometimes we have to wait for someone to cut something for us, but usually someone is available to help when we need it. They also honor veteran families like ours! read more

Literally the worst of the Home Depot's in the Pittsburgh area. This store doesn't carry a wide variety of projects and items. It has the most unhelpful staff of all time. On several occasions we have been met with an argumentative staff or staff who have refused to complete an ask (such as gather items for an online pickup in the back of the store) for whatever reason. Today I asked a staff member for help finding an item only to hear that it isn't in store. Instead of looking it up on the device they were holding I did it myself and found where it was locally. There's also a lack of training here -- we asked a question to our cashier who told us she couldn't check our carpet order out and sent us to customer service, who then told us they couldn't check us out either. We then went to the self-serve area and did it ourselves. Sense a pattern here? I thought it would be great having a local HD near my home, but I would rather travel further to have a wider variety and helpful staff with my home project needs. read more

I have been to at least 10 Home Depot while living in New York and I switched to Lowes do to lack of anyone to help you. Wife &I just moved to Pittsburg and obviously I needed ton of things for the home. I was super surprised and astonished when the depot workers which were everywhere in the store asked if I needed help, Wow that is a first for me and I also checked on appliances as we need a whole new kitchen and the salesman told us to wait till wen as they were having a huge 4th of July sale. Wow again both great customer experience and no pushy sales pitches. I found my new home based store again I give them 5 stars and will definitely be back over and over. read more

It's not that bad of a location, I just wish that it were easier to find what you are looking for. Sometimes what you need isn't in the most obvious of places within the store. And to find someone that actually knows is just as hard. I came here to grab just a few items that I needed and because this was the closest place to go. I used logic while in here by looking that the aisle markers to find what I needed. Not always the best idea. Sometimes the item can be across the store. And let's be honest, Home Depots are not small, you better have worked out before you got here so you can sprint across the store. But that's only if you find the right associate that knows what you are looking for, not one that will refer you to a none existent associate elsewhere in the store. Once you can find what you need and your way around the store, the hard work is done. You don't have to worry about talking to anyone else especially if you use the self checkouts. read more

Just wanted to call out Nick R and his partner, an older woman whose name I didn't catch, from the vinyl flooring dept. they were both very helpful in helping me evaluate my options, costing, and suggestions. I've said it before, the one thing that will kill a Home Depot experience is employees who act bothered when you ask them for help. These guys did a great job! I'm not a fan of these big box stores, I got much better service at the mom & pop hardware stores that have almost all disappeared. My big complaint about Home Depot is that it's extremely difficult to get someone to help you find what you need. I'm not usually a fan of food. I can go many moons without eating. But this was something else. The steamed avocado cauliflower salad could not be put into words. It was simply to die for. It was mostly good except for the blue liquid in aisle 5. The 6 hours of constant diarrhea was well worth it though. The service was honestly very good except for when I had a severe asthma attack and they wouldn't give me mouth to mouth. 10/10 would try again!!! read more

Some of the laziest employees ever! I had to return a few pieces of trim, and the young woman at the service desk told me, "the upc# is cut off, if you want a refund, you have to go back and get the upc#." Really? On the same visit, I purchased mulch and stones. I went to the register told the young man what I wZnted. He told me it's all outside. I proceed to get the items loaded, and was unable to find the gravel/stone. The guy helping load, said, all the stones are inside. So, I unload my toddler go back in, and the same cashier said. Oh yeah, you have to get your own stones. So, I go and load the stone I said I wanted, only to find, this cashier rang me up fir stone that was twice the price, plus, I needed to go back to the service fest to get a refund and purchase the correct stone. A different woman waited on my and had such a poor attitude. She rolled her eyes and hugged upon my explanation of my needs. The only reason I gave two stars is I interacted with other employees that were helpful with their not knowing. read more

BEWARE ON MARKETPLACE ONLINE ORDERS 90" Garage Shelves: Ordered 2, got 1 but home depot marked the order complete. Burden of proof was on me. Online orders ship direct from vendor and Home Depot Customer Service would not engage at all. I spent 4 hours on calls with 3rd Party Carriers to confirm only 1 was delivered. Home Depot then agreed I was short shipped, but is now unable to get me the 2nd unit, claiming it's out of stock. Except it's not out of stock, stores have it but they will not ship it to me. Home Depot is picking up the other one from my house at their expense vs. shipping me the 2nd one. Took 6 weeks and 7 calls to get that outcome...bravo. Poor customer service and terrible policies regarding omni channel fulfillment. P.S. Tried to submit the above review on HD.com as written and it was rejected due to comments regarding shipping and customer service. So they don't allow customers to share their true experiences. I went in to buy $1000 worth of paint. Left with nothing but high blood pressure. I gave the paint guy my list and he rattles off a bunch of names of paints. I know nothing about paint. Hence, why I am standing in front of him, the professional. I am sure Home Depot puts these people through some sort of sales training. I really thought he would ask me qualifying questions to help me decide type and price. Wow...thanks for the effort paint guy. So after 10 minutes of this I took my list and left. I pass a Lowes or Home Depot everywhere I go across town. I have always went to Home Depot. I guess I will change that. My company spends a lot of money at Home Depot. This is usually what happens...Business owners ask what happened and it was right in front of them the entire time. Crap service! I then went to the East Liberty store where, WHAT DO YOU KNOW, he asked me questions and got to the point to where he knew exactly what I needed. It took all of 2 minutes. read more

Don't shop at Home Depot. Absolutely terrible customer service. I placed an order with a delivery scheduled for the next day. I received a confirmation the equipment was out for delivery. By chance I check the tracking and see a notice that says "Unable to Attempt" no phone call, no email so I call. I spend 45 minutes try to get through to customer service and the the person at the Ohio Township store tells me to calm down, I was admittedly upset. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will never shop at Home Depot again. read more

I've been a highly successful residential contractor for over 30 years. This is definitely not one of my favorite Home Depot stores (Ohio Township). I've spent, at times, over $10,000 a week at Home Depot in many different states. This particular store has a staff turnover that is unbelievable. You never know are you going to get, but you can count on getting people who don't know what they're doing. Wait times are long, The staff is rude, and a lot of mistakes are made. I resorted to placing a lot of online orders so that I could just pick the stuff up, but that didn't work. Online orders were filled incorrectly, couldn't be found, and staff was not trained on the equipment so service is very slow. I don't recommend this store. I'm in Pittsburgh northside, and I highly recommend the Ross Township store. Never a problem at the Ross Township store, although it's a smaller store and not really a "contractor" store I almost always walk away with what I need, and never get treated like a piece of read more

Alright, before Yelp was a glimmer in my eye, I shopped at Home Depot. It is, as my three star review suggests, A-OK with me, though I'm seemingly pathologically incapable of leaving there without spending at least $100. There's always been ONE area of their services that caused me great consternation, however, and that was their automated tank exchange kiosk system. I recently returned to Home Depot to exchange my grill's propane tank and see that they have solved this problem uniquely and ingeniously, by placing an "Out of Order - See Attendant Inside" sign on it. I believe that sign has been on it for two years now. The following "review" was written pre-Yelp, but sums up my "automated propane exchange" experience. I don't recommend it, unless YOUR Home Depot has implemented the above solution. ----------------- Home Depot in its wisdom has streamlined their propane exchange process. Now, instead of the old antiquated method of telling the cashier that you want to exchange your propane tank and having that person walk out with you and unlock a tank and take yours and let you go. . . they offer this high tech alternative: You pay for the exchange at the counter. The cashier hands you a receipt. You exit the building and walk to the exchange kiosk outside the building. If you are a dumbass you are not wearing a coat because you don't expect to be long. It will probably be close to freezing. You approach the kiosk and try to figure out what to do. A short video will show you a person taking his receipt and folding it over a credit card, then sliding it through a card reader. You will perform this action and it will rip your receipt in half. You will continue to perform this until a locked but empty gate automatically swings open. You will place your tank in the empty cage slide it into place and close the cage. You will return to the kiosk when nothing else happens. It will ask you whether you have another tank to exchange. You will say no. The kiosk will thank you for depositing your empty tank. No full tank will subsequently appear. At first you'll think this is an error, but it is just part of the streamlined process Home Depot is offering. You will walk back into the building and summon a cashier who will then tell you to wait for someone outside. You will return, coatless, to the outside for several minutes, waiting. The wind will pick up. When help arrives you will present your receipt to him just like you did before the streamlined process. He will take your receipt and double it over a credit card. He will swipe it through the card reader you previously used and rip your receipt into thirds. Subsequent swipes will open the exact same locked compartment you previously filled. The helper will look slightly perplexed at this, but when you tell him that yes, this IS the tank you just deposited he will nod knowingly, ask you to shut the door again and observe nothing happen. The helper will then swipe your receipt again, and observe another empty cage open. He will ask you to shut it. When you shut it, the cage you previously filled with your tank will open. He will then close it himself, take out a key, open something, push a button or two, mutter, then return to the kiosk. Once more he will swipe your receipt. you will no longer be able to feel your toes. The cage holding the empty tank you returned to Home Depot will open a fourth time. The helper will ask you to remove the tank and replace it, apparently in a nod to my IT department's standard Help Desk solution, "turn it off and turn it on again to fix nearly every computer problem.". You will then close the door and the door to another compartment will open. You will then retrieve the full tank and carry it to the car very carefully in light of your inability to feel your fingers. All in all it seems like a lot better process. I noticed that not EVERY Home Depot has implemented this time saver. Perhaps they're piloting the process at mine. It's awesome. Really. read more

This is the Home Depot store that is the closest to my home. I have shopped here over the last 15 years since I first purchased my home and I have to say that overall, I have found that the majority of the times that I have been to this store that I have not received good customer service. In fact, about 7 years ago when I purchased a new washer and dryer from this store, and the delivery company scratched the washing machine bringing it into the house, I was told that I would be given a $50 credit for the store, and the manager at the time never honored that. I even called and he was a nasty SOB to me over the phone and was not helpful at all, yet...I've still gone back to this store several times because of its proximity to my home and because Home Depot does have a large selection of reasonably priced products. So, that brings me to today's visit. All I have to say is in the future I will ONLY go to this Home Depot during the morning of a weekday - in fact, I will take the day off just to do this because this is the first time that I have ever walked into this store where I was greeted and asked if I needed help not once, not twice, but FOUR (4) times!!!! What?!?! Why?!? Well, because they have older people working during the day who have manners and remember what common courtesy is and how to actually talk to customers. I have to give special acknowledgement to Allen who was so very helpful in the lighting section. He took the time to answer all of my questions and to find the perfect fixture and light bulbs for my new kitchen light. I cannot rave enough about him and how helpful and competent he is! Unfortunately, he will be retiring this November, but there were still other very friendly and helpful staff during this time of day, so I will make a point to go back during weekday daylight hours in order to get stellar service from the daytime Home Depot Team. read more

This rating is for the HOME DEPOT ONLINE BUSINESS.. not to be confused at all with Amazon. I decided that since I was working on the house over the past few months, I would order my stuff online so it was all gathered together for me instead of wasting an hour search each item down. I chose curbsite pickup and selected 4 items. I had done this once previously on a large order of lumber and it worked out well. In this case there were only 4 items, what I found out is that 2 of the items that shown they were in stock could not be found and for some unknown and TOTALLY STUPID REASON, Home Depot felt that they should send these items to my house. So, I went to the store, feeling that I could quickly fix this situation, found the EXACT two items that Home Depot said couldn't be located and went to the cashier assuming I could cancel the STUPIDLY HOME ORDERED items. What I was told was that I would have to call the 1-800 number that the store could not help me it was a HOME DEPOT ONLINE matter. They said I should wait until the items were shipped and reject them at my home.. REALLY, REALLY. this is a SOLUTION !!!!!! Or bring them in for a refund.. thanks, cause I really want to do more work for HOME DEPOT. I then spent the next 35 minutes on the line WAITING for someone to answer the 1-800 number.. yes, 35 minutes of the same repeating home depot corona virus commerical. When I got ahold of someone, they mentioned that I just had to wait until a tracking number showed up and maybe I could stop the shipment.. yea right.. because they give tracking numbers to all non-shipped items.. NEEDLESS TO SAY, PLEASE DO NO USE HOME DEPOT ONLINE... IF THE ITEM IS NOT FOUND, THEY WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOCK UP YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME IN ORDER TO GAIN A SALE. Nothing they do after the item is found is helpful to the consumer, only to Home Depot.. this will be my last online order.. if I can ever get it to complete.. one of the items isn't scheduled to be shipped for over a month.. but, Home Depot can't get in touch with the vendor and stop the shipment.. read more

Ordered a washer and dryer from the store on December 20th to be delivered on the 30th. Delivery agent called that morning at 6am to announce they would not be making the delivery aa they did not have my dryer and could not deliver the washer without the dryer. They rescheduled my delivery for 7th without any of my acknowledgment / consent whatever. They then bring my washer on the 6th without the dryer stating they would be back tomorrow with the dryer (I guess they can do that now). 7th comes and no dryer. They can't find it. Manufacturer requested a dock search on the 6th, to which I'm told takes 72 hours (3 days right? ) here we are on the 15th a week and a half later and almost A MONTH after ordered AND STILL NO DRYER!! No replacement or anything as they have to wait for the search results. I WILL NOT BE BACK TO A HOME DEPOT EVER. *will update when dryer is ever received and continue to share as well as this is absolutely ridiculous. read more

I come here all the time whenever I'm in the mood for planting outside or finding the perfect indoor plants. This place never disappoints my green thumb! They have affordable options for potting needs and there are always plenty of employees around who are happy to help you find what you need and to make sure that your experience/trip is enjoyable. I received tips on which pots are better depending on what you are planting, from seeds or seedlings, and on this particular trip I had someone help me hunt down the right length window tray for my indoor plants. The service is great and the selection never disappoints! read more
