So my friend came across Thread on ig and we tried them for our trip that we took to Miami in 8/2019. Though we both agreed that the service was good and the people were nice, we agreed lash lifts would not be among any of the services we would get again in general, it just wasn't for us. After my friend went back in Nov. to get her lashes done, I ( who had never gotten my lashes done before due to hearing of others experience) was convinced by my friend that they do a good job. After going to them and receiving the Santa baby package after a few days my lashes begin to fall off. I reached out to them and they offered to fix the situation if I could come in for them to assess my lashes. After the assessment I was informed that they had received a lot of complaints and that it was due to faulty glue, meanwhile my friend who went a week before me and got her lashes done by the same tech Kinda (the techs name) her lashes were also falling off. I honestly believe it was the tech who just didn't have a good technique. After removing the remaining lashes and offering to provide me with a complimentary lash service I was willing to try and see if the outcome would be different. At this point I am not sure how the tech was reprimanded but she seemed to be hurt. As she was the one who removed remaining lashes she wanted to know why was I getting them removed instead of a touch up. SN: Me and the tech had exchanged Ig but I guess after they told her I complained she unfollowed me. Note to owners: You should be careful what information you provide your techs, if they feel some type of way towards a client who makes a complaint, that energy can be felt and lead to the tech being unprofessional. When I returned the next visit for my lashes the previous tech also didn't speak as I was getting the complimentary service done by someone else. All and all this set has not lasted either within the same time. Not sure if it's me or them I can't say, but I know that this has definitely ruined my experience with eyelash extensions. I will not be going back to thread due to my previous experience as well as how far out of dodge it is for me, if the service sufficed I would take the trip. They thread eyebrows and tint well. That was best part of the Santa Baby deal. They have really great deals which gives you a bang for your buck, but I guess the saying is true what you pay for is what you get! read more

I got an eyebrow shape/ tint & lash lift done by Sylvia. The shape of my eyebrows came out great but the tint was done sloppily and actually made my eyebrows look like they weren't done at all. I was glad that the tint faded out in 2 days (waste of money lol). My lash lift came out great, but she left glue all over my damn eyelid. Normally wouldn't be a problem but I mentioned that I was hopping on a flight when I left. Guess who had glue all over their lids for the following 24hours, as you can't use water on your eyes for 24 hours after the lift? To add insult to injury, my eyelids were sensitive to the glue & now I have a rash on my eyes (using rose water & aloe Vera is helping) All in all, I'd go back for eyebrow shaping, and the lift, so long as the glue is cleaned off properly afterwards. I'd skip the tint next time. read more

Finally a spa that is modern and clean. Got my eyebrows done here a couple times. I had every eyebrow tech thread my brows and they all did a fantastic job. I also got a facial with a nose cleanse done once. I loved it. There is plenty of street parking available here. I drive from nassau county to come to Thread. I hope they open more locations one day. This place is beautiful, very clean, the staff are very nice! I came to know this place through instagram. I traveled from the Bronx for their wax and ingrown treatment. Everything was great except for the actual service, I mean the girl that waxed me was even cool, BUT THAT GIRL HAS A VERY HEAVY HAND, SHE IS NOT GENTLE, she was very caring that I was crying from how rough she was being. I had to correct her a couple times for my comfort. The thing I HATED THE MOST is she kept pushing down on my already sensitive crotch (which I told her I'm very sensitive) area to remove left over hairs. Overall it was cool. I was super excited that this place opened up since it's really convenient to where I live. The place looked cute and it had decent reviews so I decided to go in and get my eyebrows threaded. Since online it says to make an appointment, I assumed this would be necessary so I filled out the form and awaited their response. I didn't receive any response till like 2 days later but that didn't matter because I decided to walk in the same day I filled out the form. There was literally 1 person getting their eyebrows done when I walked in and I was told to have a seat right away to do my brows. I had asked the eyebrow lady what eyebrow tinting was and she sort of explained it to me. I told her I just wanted threading. After she was done threading, she got another worker to come and ask me if I was going to do the tinting and I politely told her no. The lady that did my eyebrows asked me again and I again told her no thank you maybe next time. At this point she just points to the register for me to pay. Mind you, I still have hair on my face from the eyebrow threading!!! I had to ask for a tissue so I can clean it up myself. Was it because I didn't get the tinting that I got sub par service? I've gone to many places like this before and this never happened to me. I usually get a little massage and they ask me if I want lotion. Here? NOTHING. Smdh My eyebrows came out ok. I went into Thread for the first time today and it already has cemented itself as my new eyebrow spot! The lady who did my eyebrows was not only precise but it was QUICK and nearly painless. When she asked when the last time I got my eyebrows done, which had been awhile, she informed me that because it had been so long one of my eyebrows was significantly thicker and wider than the other. Thus she would shape my eyebrows around the smaller one. She shaped them perfectly and cleaned up every stray hair! I will certainly be back. I'm so happy that a threading/spa opened in my neighborhood, which is just walking distance from me. It's also convenient for commuters, Q46 bus stop is just around the corner. There's ample street parking along Union Turnpike and 150th Street. The store was cozy, inviting, nicely decorated, 2 treatment rooms and a clean and renovated bathroom. I tried their day spa package, which included a facial, eyebrow threading and eyebrow tinting (replaced for a leg waxing/threading), for $100. Liz did an amazing job on my treatments...I was so relaxed during my facial, my eyebrows were nicely shaped and naturally looking after the tinting. I will surely comeback again and make it a monthly treat for myself! read more

I made my appointment to do the sonnet 18 which included brows and an eyelash lift with an option of brow or eyelash tint. It was a very easy location with lots of parking surrounding the location. The store was very clean and cute. I first did my eyebrows and it was fast which I liked. I saw them after she was done and they looked ok. Later when I got in my car after my appointment I was upset that the lady how thinned my eyebrows after I had been growing my eyebrows out for two months. The lady had asked if I wanted to do the eyebrow tint and I asked her for her recommendation, as I have never done it before, I got no answer on whether she recommended that I do it or not only that if I wanted to I could do it later. After, I got called in for my lash lift and the room looked clean. I felt relaxed as the pillow was so comfortable and all the blankets. The lady who was doing my lift was very nice and asked if I ever had done a lash lift before and I told her I had. She started with the process and it felt uncomfortable when she was putting on the rod. She then pulled out the chemical which smelled like eggs which alarmed me a bit. When it had processed, she began to take the rod off roughly that it hurt my eyes. She showed me my lashes and I was disappointed, my lashes were not that lifted. My lashes looked like it does when it's the end of the day after curling them in the morning. Taking a closer look in my car as I did with my brows I was disappointed. After I finished with the lash lift I payed and was given no after care directions, thank goodness I remembered from the lash lift that I had gotten before. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt because the pictures on Instagram look amazing compared to what I got so I waited a day to post this but I took a shower and the chemicals from the perm irritated my right eye so much that it was shut close and red. It burned so bad. Also, a lot of eyelashes had fallen. Everyone was really nice in the store and everything was so pretty but this place is not for me. I will be going back to my girl Alicia who is killing the lash game and using Yumi which is way healthier for the lashes. read more

I tried brow lamination and I am very happy with the results! I have very light and fine hairs and now my eyebrows are looking much fuller.

I decided to come here to try to fix my eyebrows but left with the same disaster. I told the lady to even them out since I've been growing them back for a long time. All she did was clean up the existing shape(s) so now I'm back to square one. When I mentioned it, all she did was try to convince me that it looks good. What I find upsetting is the customer service here. The staff is rude. I made my first trip to the salon with my son just to be told he can't come in so I said what am I supposed to do with him, leave him outside?!? She said oh your choice. Doesn't really sound like a choice but ok. I later saw the covid restrictions at the bottom of the webpage. I took him home and came back and explained that I was just there since the wait was an hour or more. I was told rudely that oh your name isn't down so nothing I could do. I still waited just because I heard this place was good and I needed my brows fixed. Nope, got treated badly and my brows are still a mess. read more

Place is nice and clean and does a great job in brows. However, I am very puntual. If a place states they open for services at 10am I expect to find someone Available at 10am. This place is the best!!! I just went in for eyelash extensions today with Sylvia as my lash technician and she is amazing. I explained to her that I wanted a round shape, longer in the middle and she made them so perfect and symmetrical but not too much. I haven't gotten lash extensions in about a year because the places I've tried in the past have always made them look either too fake or asymmetrical. I drove an hour to this place but it was so worth it. She did a beautiful job and I can't wait to go back! read more

For years Liz is the only person who I let thread my eyebrows. When you find someone who knows what they are doing and actually cares about your brows, there's no need to go anywhere else. No matter how bad I need them done if it's not Liz then I'll wait. I've also gotten my eyebrows tinted a bunch of times, lash tint, nose cleanse, and mink lashes. Lashes were great, I did 70 pieces and will do more next time. The rest of the staff is friendly and the salon is decorated really nice. Highly recommend. read more

This was my second time going to thread for a lash lift. The staff is very friendly and my lashes came out decently considering I have short lashes. However, there was glue left all over my lids after the lash lift. I also had my eyebrows done and the shape was completely ruined. I was more focused on getting the glue off my eyelids I didn't notice how thin my ends were and my rounded brows turned into an arch. read more

From the reviews I can tell they have decent services when it comes to waxes but facials and customer service may be an issue. I came here for a diamond micro-abrasion and wax the next day with vajacial. I came here for a wax with dahria* first time ever last month and really enjoyed it. Now the microabrasion, I don't feel as if my skin really benefited from anything. It didn't feel like the first time I got it. . The lady did extractions with her gloved hands and I don't know if that should happen. Anyways I had a wax and vagacial the next day. I'm late and I understand (26min) This lady takes 10 min to do my wax. I have a whole 20 min before my appointment is truly over. I feel as if I could've had the vajacial or at least squeezed in somewhere as the esthetician said "you don't even have a lot of in grown hairs" anyways I was upset and I wanted to speak the owner. I spoke to someone over Instagram? I don't even know if that was the owner, that's where I was directed to. Everything was Okay until she told me that the esthetician said we only had 10 minutes left. Lies. I just felt like the customer service was trash. I don't even think I was speaking with Liz but if I was, over Instagram? Is that really the best place to handle customer issues. I don't know if I'll go again. I canceled my vajacial bc I am SO DISAPPOINTED with the customer service. The waxes were good tho. My vagina looks good. But customer service? TRASH. So disappointed! read more

I've gotten my eyebrows threaded here before and had a good experience. but the second time I came in I wanted to get their back to school special which included an eyebrow tint, threading and nose cleans. The threading was fine but was quite painful and I was left with cuts on the outer corner of my eyebrow. Then came time for the nose cleaning. I have never had one before and the aesthetician did not tell me once what she was going to do and before I knew it she pulled a metal rod out of a drawer, wiped it with a tissue and dug it into my nose. It hurt SO badly I had to tell her to stop. I have a nose piercing and let me tell you what she did hurt more than getting that piercing. I could not believe that she thought that was okay! Not to mention the hygiene issue with the metal rod!!! A little word of advice to Thread, maybe communicate with your customers before you dig mysterious metal rods into their nose!! read more

The first time I went to this place I got a hybrid lash set and the technician did a good job (her name is Sylvia and she no longer works there.) I went a second time despite it being really far from where I live because they have pretty good deals but I was not impressed the second time. I had a new technician named Kinda who clearly didn't know what she what she was doing because my volume set starting falling off two days after I went. My friend went a week after I did, had the same technician and experience of lashes falling off as well. I sent them a message telling them about my experience a couple of weeks after and their initial response was that it was caused by the technician using OLD GLUE. I was told I could come and receive a free set of lashes for the inconvenience. They called me again 5 minutes later and proceeded to question and blame me saying that it was probably my fault and that I should've called them sooner. The management is very unprofessional to have extended an offer and then took back their complimentary offer and were extremely rude. I will NEVER go back to this place or recommend them to anyone. read more

This place is so perfect! The design and decor is beautiful everything is pink and white and it is very clean. Liz is also very kind and attentive to her clients. I got my eyebrows threaded and she did them really fast but they came out perfect. I do have thick eyebrows but I have some spots that aren't as thick as the rest and she recommended I get tinting which I will come back for. I also got a Brazilian wax which I was super scared about but the price was amazing only $30. She took her time and really did a fabulous job. She checked in on me to make sure I was okay and said I could take as many breaks as I'd like but I just wanted it to be done so I didn't take any but, I really appreciate the thought. The pain is relative to any other waxing place and depends on your tolerance to pain and for the price it is totally worth it than going to a franchise waxing salon. I recommend coming here for any of her services and I will be sure to return soon for a follow up on my eyebrows and wax. read more

I would give them zero starts if I could. I went in for a brow lamination and nobody explained what was in the chemicals or the procedure. They were kind though the owner did my brows and she obviously had no idea what she's doing. I explained to her I haven't done my eyebrows in a while and I was nervous for anyone to touch them because of my past experiences and this experience was even worst. I had an allergic reaction to whatever she put on my face my brows were way darker then i expected because my hair is blonde. I treated them with respect though she offered me a refund. But I had to call them two days after to remind them to send me my money. Around my eyebrows were bruised up and the hair was missing. Like I only went there because of there reviews but if you don't know how to do brows or even fix it after you messed it up find another job. Don't waste your time going there. Now I need to wait until my brows grow out and my face goes back to normal. Ridiculous. read more
