Dr T takes pride in his work. Have been a patient since day one. I'm a difficult patient and they still gave me 100%.

HELP! We were driving through the Madison/Sauk City area (from Chicago, up to Baraboo to go…read morecamping) when my 5 year old son accidentally swung a metallic water bottle at my 8 year old daughter and BROKE HER FRONT TOOTH IN HALF! Needless to say, we were traumatized. There was lots of crying and blood everywhere. Adding to our distress was the fact that we didn't know anyone in the area AND it was a Friday at 5:00. Every dentist in the area had gone home. After making a dozen calls, my wife managed to track down a very kind receptionist (Sheila), who referred us to Dr. Hernandez, who was on call for his own practice. He - very graciously - offered to help, despite us not being his patients. After some conversation, he advised that fixing the tooth could wait until Monday when we returned to Chicago. What a relief!! We are extremely grateful to Dr. Hernandez for his act of kindness. He didn't have to help. He had nothing to gain from it, but it was hugely helpful to us. More importantly, it was extremely comforting to speak with him. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

You walk in and there is always a smiley face greeting you. Dr.H involves the kids and parents with the treatment plans. Dr. H only wants the best for the children's dental health and yes I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

My daughter has been going to Dr. Rick since she was a toddler…read more Due to age (getting older), we were told she is ready to see a primary dentist. After (2) different primary dentist visits, both had the same results of 14 cavities. We have been faithfully going every 6 months. Not once have we ever been told about any issues. So much for preventive care. We can't wrap around on how an individual can get 14 cavities within a year... Dr Rick and staff are clearly not doing their job. Shame on you. Look elsewhere or advocate for you and your family. Clearly Small World Dentistry doesn't care.

Since apparently my other review was somehow deleted, but either way I still feel like I need to…read moresay it again. I was a patient throughout 2011-2020. For years 2013-2016, I was mistreated and am now here out the the anger of my PTSD. 1: They did work on me that both my mom and I think was unnecessary, as I recall never feeling pain or any signs of cavities or abscesses in the teeth that needed to be work on, extensively, with apparently enough numbing being laughing gas and an "anesthesia" covered scraper, poked hard into my gums. 2: Apparently, they thought that the issue was that I was not happy with the dentists, considering at the time of the abuse, I was between 5-8 years old. So instead of giving me actual numbing to do work that I believe was not needed, they changed me to a different dentist. 3: In May of 2021, I switched to a nicer, local dentist, he asked this office for the files with my history and they refused to give them to him. Hiding your abuse, eh? 4: My mom was not allowed to be in the room with me after I turned 5, because apparently that's the age where children and old and mature enough to go anywhere without their parents, shit, we should make the drinking age 5 if you think that 5 is the age where people are comfortable being on their own! 5: They told my mom for years and years that i should get braces, not when I have adult teeth, IMMEDIATELY, put braces on baby teeth and have them fall out and fuck up your adult teeth! Anyways I got Invisalign from a nicer, local orthodontist and not these child abusers. This place hurts children for no reason for money, take my word. You guys are lucky, when malpractice happens to a minor they have until they're 18 to sue, and we don't want to sue as of now due to how hard malpractice cases are to win. Maybe it was by design? To make money and not face consequences? I can tell you who I am, and we'll see what you have to say.

Awesome friendly staff. I have referred so many friends and clients and everyone is always so…read morepleased and happy. They treat you like family here.

I can still recall the day I was told my three-year-old required extensive dental work. He had…read morefallen and developed an abscess on his front baby tooth that required an extraction. As a mother, and a woman, I immediately succumbed to an irrational set of beliefs: (a) this situation was completely my fault and (b) my child's social life was doomed. After consulting several pediatric dentists, Dr. Hanson was the obvious choice not only because of her impressive educational background but her constant professionalism. She is not only highly educated but extremely personable as well; a combination of traits that is not always present in this field of work. She sat down and actually explained to me the reasoning behind the need for the extraction and talked me through what the process would involve. Her confidence, knowledge, and compassion immediately won me over. Moreover, I particularly liked that she provided me with the option of bringing in an anastegologist to her office- essentially not only saving me hospital fees but, more importantly, providing a setting my son would be familiar with. Even more surprisingly, they even closed the office for the morning which made the experience far more personal. I had chosen to bring in an anastegologist due to my son's age and the work he had to have done. This was not an easy decision, but my husband and I could not have asked for a better group of people to perform all of this on our son. Everyone on the staff, right down to the receptionists that greeted us at the door, did everything to make us feel comfortable and welcome. When you walk into the office there are childhood pictures of Dr. Hanson and her entire staff in frames on the wall: a reminder that we were all children once and that going to the dentist can sometimes be a little scary. I was able to show my son her picture and explain that like him, Dr. Hanson was little once too. Four hours post op, I couldn't believe how rapid his recovery was. One would never believe that just hours before he was completely sedated. He did not complain of any pain whatsoever. He even was able to walk out of the office on his own. Dr. Hanson and the staff at Dayspring greatly exceeded my expectations. They made the entire experience significantly easier. My son experienced minimal, if any, pain at all. Dr. Hanson followed up with us later that day and was readily available if we had any problems or concerns- which we didn't. At our follow up appointment, my son was not afraid to go back and seemed to have no recollection of the actual procedure. I credit Dr. Hanson's professionalism and skill but, I would be lying if I didn't mention the fun toy that he got to pick out at the end of his visit. Dr. Hanson also gave me tips and tricks on how to be most effective when it comes to brushing teeth. She showed me different positions I could place my son in to make sure that I could reach every spot. She even provided me with a special fluoride toothpaste to help given the tiny size of my son's mouth. Needless to stay, although the drive is over forty minutes from our house, we definitely have made Dayspring Pediatrics our first choice when it comes to our children's dental health. I realize this review is on the longer side, and I apologize for that. However, for parents, especially ones that are looking for a dentist that can perform exceptional work beyond the routine teeth cleaning, I hope this helps. Picking a dentist for your child is not an easy decision. I never write reviews but I genuinely felt that I would be doing a major injustice to this office and everyone that works there if I didn't take the time to thank and acknowledge them for helping us through a difficult time. If you are looking for a pediatric dentist that encompasses professionalism, extensive experience and knowledge, but most importantly- genuine family values, look no further. I assure you that after the visit you will want to post a review as well. It's refreshing to see that there are practices still out there that care more about the child than the money. Thank you Day Spring. It's nice to see my son have his smile back.
