5 Stars!! I cannot say enough about Dr. Vissor and his staff!! I'm a native of Phx, Az, born and raised here and Dr. Vissor is the best dentist I've ever had, especially when it comes to NEEDLES!!! He is SUPER SUPER GENTLE. My hygienist DIANA was excellent too! He has a patient for life with me. I sincerely mean that. I had alot of work done in the past and today....two crowns and two fillings...I knew I had to get some work done but didn't want to go back to my last dentist...long story. Fortunately I found Dr. Vissor on YELP and went to him based on YELP reviews and his location which is much closer to me but believe me I would travel to see Dr. Vissor. I went here in pain hoping for some sort of relief. I was already taking as much over the counter medication as directed by the bottles and was still in agony at night time. He told me to basically keep suffering gave me an antibiotic that hasn't helped at all and told me to continue what I was doing. The doctor was very nice and professional but I felt judged and that my needs as an individual where not listened to. They wanted me to take continue to take IBuprofen which was not helping at all. If you are in bad pain don't go here because they will not be of much help. I would not refer anybody to this doctor. read more

It was time to find a new dentist in the area, and I turned to the reviews to help make my decision. After reading the great reviews for Thomas Dental, I decided to give it a try. The front desk staff was friendly and the paper work was easy to fill out. The dental hygienist was extremely thorough and was more than happy to answer any questions that I had. They took many xrays of my teeth (even took a few extra to answer a question that I had) and documented everything with great detail. I just went back in to have a filling redone, and it was very quick and painless. Dr. Visser seems to have your personal interest as priority, as he suggested things that could be done in the future, but was not pushy to get things done. I will definitely be recommending Thomas Dental to friends who are looking for dental needs! read more

My first experience with my initial appointment for a root canal and chipped molar was fantastic!! The doctor is quiet funny and her dental assistant makes you feel comfortable and assists her quit effectively. I had a family emergency and had to cancel my following appointment which was three weeks out and I called a few hours prior (my appointment was on a Monday morning) to speak to someone to explain and reschedule. When I called the office to reschedule my appointment they weren't empathetic at all and actually made me feel worse than I already did about having to miss my appointment. I have yet to return. Today was my first visit. I needed to find a new dentist because I had moved more than an hour away from my last dentist of over 12 years. So far, so good. The staff is friendly and efficient. Dr was very thorough with his inspection of my mouth. He is personable and was very detailed with explaining his recommendations. I need two very old fillings replaced because they are cracked. They were able to get the work done that day. Wow, I wasn't expecting that. I didn't have time, but did schedule it in a couple weeks. I will update my review after that work is done. read more

This dentist's office was amazing. The staff treats you like family they were so sweet to me and were very knowledgeable they were able to answer all my questions. the office is clean and comfortable and inviting, and the equipment was high tech. The dentist I saw was so skilled that I couldn't tell where he did my fillings they were so flush with my teeth, plus my bite didn't change and no sensitivity. The best part of all was the fact that they don't over charge just because you have insurance. They worked with me on a payment plan and I was able to get everything done that I'd been putting off. Well, I am glad I went with my wife to this procedure. I am not sure how this place has so many positive reviews, I guess it might have something to do with what I read earlier in the reviews: they give (or gave?) Starbucks gift cards for positive reviews. First off, they were 1 hour and 40 minutes late. I understand things happen but they never once let us know it was going to be a significant wait. They kept saying "it's going to be a minute sorry we are running a little late". Next, the dental assistant comes up to the receptionist and says, literally right in front of us and everyone else waiting, "why doesn't VB (her name, I don't want to spell out for privacy reasons) want to be put under, does she not have enough money or something?" Little does she know, my wife is a successful engineer with a masters degree and probably makes 3 times what she makes. Then they finally call us in and they say she needs to be put under and they can't get a hold of our insurance company for a quote, and they said it was our fault for all the last minute changes because my lady said she would like to avoid being put under. I told them that was BS because my wife is not an professional dentist and we came in two weeks ago for an evaluation and did x rays, examinations, etc to prepare for this. Nobody made a strong case for being put under then and its obvious the dentist doesn't look at his paperwork until minutes before the surgery because they were totally shocked about plans we made weeks ago. Like I told the girl when we were there, the whole process was very unprofessional and we will never come here again. read more

Dr. Visser and his staff are extremely professional and accommodating. I called in and was able to get a same day appointment for a dental cleaning and x-rays. After finding out I needed fillings, they presented me with an estimate including what my insurance would pay for and offered to perform this treatment same day as well. When it comes to customer service, state of the art technology, hygiene and community involvement Thomas Dental and Dr Visser got it covered. As you walk in you are received with a smile, everyone is always courteous and kind and understand that a visit to the dentist is not pleasant to everyone but they make it better with their attentive customer service. The office's updated look is modern and fresh. All the equipment is state of the art, including digital x-rays. The large windows and doors in the rooms really open up the space, so don't worry if you dislike tight rooms, they're all spacious, including the bathroom. A complimentary TV is in the waiting and also coffee, yes, you read it right! Coffee! Refill anyone? During my various visits Dr Visser has taken the time to explain what will be done during my procedure. This makes you educated and well aware of what's to be done, therefore, minimizing the doubt and fear that most have when getting teeth work done. On all my appointments the establishment has always been clean: outside area, waiting room, bathroom, and patient rooms. This makes me feel that hygiene is a priority for the staff and puts me at ease as I'm a little bit of a germophobe, but hey, who isn't? Lastly, a neat fact about Thomas Dental is their community involvement. I've always respected anyone that donates and Dr Visser has earned my respect through his continuous work with the Phoenix Zoo. It's also kind of neat and cool knowing that you dentist has worked on tigers and lions, so I'm sure he can handle your little canines. It also gives you bragging rights, which are always handy when arguing with your favorite sibling. To conclude, I can tell you how great this dentist is, but is nothing compared to a first-hand experience. I truly hope your experience is as pleasant as mine. I went here on a referral and I am very happy with the service.The most comfortable I have ever felt at a dentist office. All professional and personable. Gracie is awesome and works with my schedule and gets the most out of my insurance for me. Diana keeps it real with me about my dental hygiene and on her advice I got a waterpik and have seen improvement which I totally appreciate.
