Biltmore Commons has asked me to leave a review. I cannot in good faith say anything nice about this place. I am new to the area and was recommended to this practice. My old practice was a single dentist, a few dental assistants and a receptionist. You spend your entire visit with the dentist and he provides you an honest summary of your visit. The total visit is under a half hour. Biltmore Commons has 6 Dentists and at least that many dental hygienist and more dental assistants and receptionists. You spend the majority of your visit with your hygienist and about 2 minutes with the dentist. Because there is so much overhead you get a Spirit Airlines experience where you are constantly getting upsold nonsense. The hygienists are more like used car salesmen than people who clean your teeth. I have been to this place twice and they have tried selling me laser treatment ($100) night guards ($800), Invisilign, a Waterpick ($120), an additional cleaning, and they were going to try to sell me an electric toothbrush if I didn't already have one. The hygienists don't give up the entire visit until you say yes to something. The dentist never says you need any of these things. I never went through with any of these scams. And I will not be going to Biltmore Commons ever again. My first visit was 2 hours (with x-rays) and my second was almost an hour (without x-rays). I have a life and my time is not valued. My recommendation is to find a dentist with less overhead where they can pay for their practice with just regular dental work and not ancillary products. read more

I have been going to Biltmore Commons Dental for over 3.5 years for normal dental check-ups, teeth cleaning, etc. All the doctors are very professional and their staff is super friendly. They're always happy to answer any questions and go above and beyond to make sure their patients are happy. When it came down to my cosmetic dental needs, I choose Biltmore Commons because they had already done such a wonderful job taking care of my teeth. After an unfortunate fall to the face, I cracked three top front teeth. Dr. Balestrino performed a root canal, did a crown and placed 4 veneers. Through the whole process Dr. Balestrino explained everything thoroughly from my root canal all the way to having my veneers. He made sure I was comfortable with the color of my veneers, the length, and made them look natural. My biggest concern was to make sure my teeth looked natural and you couldn't tell they were fake and that's exactly how they look. I have peg laterals, which have always made me a little self conscious of my smile. I finally decided to go ahead with veneers for those two teeth and let me tell you, I am SO glad I went through with it! Dr. Sadowski and his team did an awesome job and everyone was always so welcoming. I felt like they were just as excited as I was to get my veneers! The process was painless and I love the end result! If you're thinking about getting them done, I highly recommend Dr. Sadowski. On a side note, I come to Biltmore Commons for my regular dental cleanings as well and I've seen maybe three or four of their dental hygienists and all of them are gentle but they get your teeth very clean. I try to take really good care of my teeth so I'm pretty picky when it comes to my dentist. Seriously...I used to drive over an hour to see my old dentist before I moved out of state. Terrible experience from start to finish. I went in 3 times with pain in my root canal, they blew me off insisting nothing was wrong. Finally they find an infection that had been causing me incredible pain for weeks. They will ignore anything you try to tell them, probably trying to get me out the door faster is what it feels like. The front desk staff is miserable, rude and not helpful at all. They make it very clear they don't like their job or helping their clients. It has been about 2 years since I had gone to this dentist office and I am still having so many issues with the fillings they put in. I came for a general cleaning, they made me do a deep cleaning and said I needed 8 fillings done. I have had a couple before, but never that many and I had no pain and no issues with my teeth. But I figured they were experts and I would do what needed to be done. They spread my fillings over 2 appointments (4 each time). It was a grueling process. A piece of the filling fell off a few days after but didn't seem to cause an issue. However, they left a gap between 2 teeth where I am constantly getting food stuck. They also ruined my bite, it is not even and I tried several times to correct but realized that I will eventually need the fillings replaced. Two years later and I'm still having problems. The fillings themselves are giant as well! Several dentists I have gone to since then said there was too much drilling and the fillings should not be that big. I feel they did this only to make money and I sincerely regret going there in the first place. My advice - get a second opinion and be very cautious at this office. If their diagnosis feels wrong, don't do it! I wish I hadn't trusted all the good reviews and followed my instincts. read more

I am a newer patient with this office, but my experience has been great! The first two times I was seen by Dr. Perkins. He was great to work with. Very personable, professional, and thorough. He took time to explain the process and wasn't judgmental that the time since my last visit to the dentist was longer than recommended. My third visit was a little different. I had some painful gum soreness after hours on Thursday and I knew that I needed to be checked out and soon. I waited way too long. I called at 7am the next morning (Friday) and I asked if there was any way I could be squeezed in given my perceived urgency. Dr. Balestrino was the only dentist in that day and he was booked back-to-back all day. I explained my symptoms, was placed on hold for a short moment, and I was told Dr. Balestrino could see me at 8am. When I arrived at the office at 8am, I was treated as if I had made the appointment months ago and I was in the exam chair quickly. After Dr. Balestrino did a quick check of my gums, it became clear that I needed more than just a quick once over. I knew based on the previous phone call that the Doctor was booked solid all day and didn't really have time to numb me up and clean out the sore spot on my gums, but I would have never known that based on his behavior. He was friendly, thorough, efficient, and allowed me to ask questions, all while seeing other patients in the same time period. Each time I leave this office, all of my concerns have been addressed, my experience has been pleasant, and I have felt much better about my overall dental health. I have been looking for a dental office for a long time. I have long history of fillings that have always worried me as I get older. I scheduled an appointment and was so worried but from when I walked in the front staff, Kayla, Nellely and Elisa, were so welcoming. They greeted me with my name and made eye contact. It may seem silly to mention but that is really important to feeling heard and comfortable in any Dr office. Another great thing they have done for me is address the staining on my teeth left by having previous orthodontic work that I believed was unfixable. They laid out a plan and showed me before and after photos of patients they have helped with similar cases in a consultation room. This reassured me they wanted to help and for me to gain the confidence I always wanted with my smile. But most important, what is the cost? Or how is the cost am I right? The front staff sits down with you and gives you a break down of what costs is for any future procedures. They never push for me to schedule immediately. They never say "did you want to schedule your appointment" instead they say "you can schedule if you feel ready or call in if you need time to think and decide". They have something called the Aetna Access Plan that discounted my dental work if I applied for the membership. With dental work prices and no insurance anything helps. I hope to continue feeling comfortable and visiting this dentist. I'm ready to stop dentist shopping. read more

Went in a total of 5 times for one issue, my partner had an excess on her crown that needed to be drained, it took 3 different dentists to find this issue and she consistently told them the issue but none of them except the last doctor wanted to hear it. After they drained it, they told her she needs to come back to redo the crown once it heals, she agreed. Once we came back we asked the front desk lady "Lisa" could she check the insurance, I'm not kidding she said "that could take me an hour to look up". This woman did nothing...then after we left, we left a review on Google and yelp, suddenly they called us back within 15mins and we were good but they couldn't do that while we were there. This office only cares about their public reputation and not what you the customer needs or want. They also said if we came back "it would all be covered" then suddenly when we are making sure the price they tell us "o, you still have to pay the 130 out of pocket". This dentist office might as well be a bunch of salesman how they act. I am a US veteran of the marine corp on disability, and I have never been so disgusted. We paid for 4 different services that were not what we asked for because we decided to believe them....do not trust this office, they just want your money not your loyalty. Doctor called me to check on this, obviously didn't read my review as he thought it was about me. And I have stated it was about how my partner was treated...don't believe their 4.9 star average, look at the reviews...too many 1-3 stars stating all the same thing THEY DO NOT LISTEN, or read it seems... read more

Just a comment to start. How can the overall rating be 5.0 when multiple people have rated him 3.0? Not a math major but it's impossible for the overall to be 5.0. Dr. Sadowski is probably the most social dentist you will ever meet. He wants to know you, what you do, what your story is, etc. This is a positive and unusual for a dentist. My guess is you will be very happy with him for routine checkups, fillings and minor work. I was a cosmetic patient and required many visits and a lot of precision. His social skills are sometimes a problem. When he is supposedly working on your teeth he is chatting with the patient next door and you are sitting around waiting. I think he is very good at the basics. He pitched me his willingness to switch gears in my cosmetic work and go back and redo things. Some things did not look perfect at all but when I mentioned this to him he merely dismissed this by saying "that's the way it turns out sometimes," "you can't do anything about it, etc." He was too eager to get to the next step and I finished my work elsewhere and had someone redo what he said couldn't be done and it now looks great. I think he tries to be too many things at once--regular dentist, orthodontist, cosmetic dentist (where the big money is at) and he's honestly better at the basic stuff than the aesthetic stuff. Overall a very nice guy and the staff is nice, but I wound up with a stern but very exacting dentist instead who gave me the look I wanted. read more

So I took my son to Dr Sadowski by referral from my orthodontist when he was done with his braces. I made my appt by phone and explained how I would like to bring my son in for a consultation with the Dr, then leave him on his own for his cleaning and oral examination (he's 16 so he can Lyft himself back to school). They assured that was fine and we scheduled the appt. I received a call from the office 2 days later asking for my insurance information which I gave to them, at that time I reconfirmed everything with the person on the phone. Then later on that same day I received another call confirming my appt and asking for my insurance information again....when I told her that I had just spoken with someone about the same issue she said she didn't see anything in the system and wasn't sure who I spoke with, so I gave her the information AGAIN. One the day of my son's appt we arrived at the office and they needed my insurance information AGAIN because they had no idea who I had spoken to and my information wasn't in the system. To make matters worst my appt had been changed to begin 2 hours later then the time we confirmed......of course no one knew how the change occurred but as a result I had to wait. In the end my son missed school that day and I missed work. No apology from the front desk or anything just a "there's nothing we can do and we don't know how this happened". In the end Sr. Sadowski was WONDERFUL, he answered all my questions and gave great advice and I felt totally confident in his work and why Dr Serrano referred him to me. I was ready to pay for my son's work and get the process started, but I couldn't get past his front office staff. I would hate to have the same situation happen again or worst with my son coming in on his own. I in turn decided to contact Dr. Serrano for another option in order to complete his dental work. 5 star rating for the Dr but his staff totally knocked down his rating. read more
