I had services with this office in Dec 2024 and believed my account was settled at that time. Recently, I discovered that Acadia Endodontics charged my credit card without my authorization for $70, despite no recent services or consent to use my card on file. I did not approve this charge, nor was I notified in advance. Additionally, there remains an unresolved credit related to unused X-ray services that I never proceeded with, which I had previously raised. Regardless of any internal billing disagreement, charging a patient's credit card without current authorization is unacceptable. I am now having to spend time disputing a charge that should never have occurred. I can't yet speak to the long term success of the procedure because I got it done today. But Dr. C and his dental assistant made my first root canal the easiest procedure. I get really nervous and have low tolerance with dental pain, the numbing process was almost completely painless. (They gave me a topical first, I've never experienced that) the dental assistant (I want to say Amber) was so kind and sweet to me during it all as well. Dr. C was very helpful when it came to educating me on my options and the procedure before and as it happened. After talking to him about everything literally all my worries were resolved and I volunteered to do the root canal treatment that day! Thank you to the whole team for everything my experience was beautiful. Also for anyone worried about having a root canal, this office made my whole process so much less intimidating. If I could rate this office ten stars, I definitely would. I initially visited towards the end of the day, feeling very nervous because another office had failed a root canal, which got infected. I had a lot of bacteria buildup and was concerned about losing my tooth. From the moment I stepped into the office, I felt a positive energy. I was greeted by the receptionist, Taylor, who had a welcoming smile and already knew my name. The office was clean, organized, and even had a Keurig coffee machine with multiple drink options. I was taken back immediately, which helped ease my nerves. Despite it being the end of the day, the assistant's attitude made me feel comfortable, as if I were the first patient of the morning. Their body language showed no rush to go home; they were focused entirely on making sure I was comfortable. The seats even had built-in massagers! I then met Dr. Claire Anderson, who was polite, funny, and confident about saving my tooth. We scheduled a follow-up for the procedure, and I met Alma, who was professional, polite, and had a great sense of humor. She explained the costs clearly and answered all my questions. On my second visit, I was greeted with the same warmth and professionalism. Despite it being the end of the day again, the staff's demeanor was still excellent. Dr. Anderson's confidence and expertise shone through as she knew exactly where to administer the anesthetic without causing any pain. She was very informative throughout the process and even made me laugh with her sense of humor. One joke that stood out was when I smelled something bad after she drilled my tooth, and she said, "It's not me; I showered. That's the bacteria in your tooth living its best life." Staff and facility is super friendly, clean, high tech and attentive. On my Monday visit, however, I observed a few distasteful things. A few things changed from a visit I had with them six years ago. I was not told until I was at the appointment that Arcadia Endodontics was out of network with my Met Life Dental Insurance. They had opportunities to tell me when I made the phone appointment and when they confirmed the appointment. It was determined after doing an X Ray and CT scan during this consult that I needed endodontic retreatment of a molar. They really sell you on their "wave" procedure, claiming the other option of regular therapy you will need to set up multiple office visits. Their quote for one tooth was $2500 between my portion and the insurance. I set up an appointment for a week later to do the retreatment. After processing the shell shock on the drive home, and determining that the cost was highway robbery, I cancelled the appointment. I chose an in network endodontist instead. They only charged $1000 for the same procedure in network including everything, and it only needed one visit. The frosting on the cake, is that when I got notification of the claim being processed by Metlife; it shows Arcadia sent a claim with higher charges than listed on my invoice. I am currently awaiting a refund that is due to me. Lesson learned and won't be repeated. read more

My teen daughter was referred to Arcadia Endodontics due to a fractured and discolored front tooth. When I called to make her initial appointment the receptionist, Alma was very nice and helpful. She was able to work my daughter into their schedule at a time that worked best for me. Once we got to her appointment we were greeted and taken back to a room quickly. Kilee was seen by Dr. Clatanoff. Dr. Clatanoff was great with explaining what he recommended. He also showed Kilee her X-ray so she understood what we was explaining. Kilee felt extremely confident about doing same day treatment. After treatment was completed, Kilee had minimal pain. I was referred here by a dentist that I got a second opinion from who confirmed I needed a root canal due to a bump in my gum. That dentist's staff had called and made the root canal appointment for me here--talk about white glove service! I assumed all my information has been routed over as no one from here had contacted me to ask about any paperwork/insurance information/confirmation of my appointment or provide me with an estimate. I showed up on time for my appointment and they asked me to fill out paperwork. No biggie, but I mentioned my surprise about the lack of contact and the receptionist said they thought I didn't have insurance. I wasn't sure why they thought that if the referring dentist office had my insurance information. I also mentioned I was surprised no one had contacted me to provide an estimate. I asked about the estimate of charges and they had to wait to input my insurance information before they could provide that to me. The whole time they kept asking for my credit card to put into their system. I told her I wasn't giving my credit card until they gave me an estimate. If you read some of the reviews here or maybe it was on Google, there were complaints about their pricing and billing policies so I was extremely hesitant to hand over my credit card as the paperwork says they are authorized to charge up to $300 without contacting you, but if it's more, then they will contact you for permission. Anyhow, I got the estimate and gave them my credit card and I was taken to the back where they proceeded to do X-rays. I also was hesitant about coming here because while the reviews were great, that was like 2 years ago and on Google, while there are recent reviews, they are mostly from first time reviewers. However, if you find the ones that have multiple reviews, they are not good reviews. So I just kinda had a bad feeling and kinda didn't want to be there, but the new doctor had referred me here so I was like, it has to be good! The girl that was doing x-rays was super rough and making me have a gag reflex because of how she put it in my mouth. She kept asking if I normally take any medication to calm my nerves before going to the dentist like it was MY fault I was gagging based on how rough she was putting the thing in my mouth. I told her no--it's only with you that I'm having this reaction and issue. Finally get the x-ray done. Then she takes my blood pressure, but doesn't tell me what it is, which I thought was odd. Then she takes me to get the 3D scan, but she's like we can wait for the doctor to ensure it's needed if you want. I'm like well is it necessary or not cuz if it is then fine (it's out of pocket at $295) and she's like yes, he'll probably say it's necessary, and then was like, let's just wait to see what he says as we don't like to push the patients. While I appreciated that being said, it didn't feel like that was the message and feeling. I meet Dr. Axx and I liked him. He's straight to the point and tells me to take the 3D x-ray. We complete that and he's like looks like we are good to go for a root canal as there are no fractures. Provides two options for the root canal and says it's up to me how to do it and to schedule that. I'm like, wait, this appointment was to do the root canal and he says, well, you didn't get back here until 3:28 so now I don't have time to complete a root canal. That was odd to me cuz I actually found an article when he first started where he says he likes to book a late appointment so he doesn't feel rushed and can concentrate on the patient! But again, that was when he first started so times have changed. We both notice a fly circling around while he's talking to me. Turns out they are remodeling and I saw the holes where a fly could definitely get in. Not a huge deal, but the lady working was like ew, it's all over the equipment. I get the printed estimate and it doesn't make sense to me. The front guy helps explain and I finally get it, but the way they print it out doesn't make sense. I had to pay the $295 for the 3D x-ray right away as it isn't covered by insurance so that was fine. Then they show the other x-ray costs plus the regular root canal costs plus if you do the gentle wave costs plus one other cost that might happen. It was more than I expected, but whatever. But the first availability was 3 business days later and I had scheduled the appointments for replacing the crowns based on the original appointment so I had to call the general dentist to see if that would be okay as they meant no healing time inbetween, but that doctor had already left for the day so I had to wait until the morning for his answer. It was just a hassle and I did not get a good feeling from start to finish here. I ended up doing a bunch of research online that evening and found another doctor to do the root canal the same day who cost much less and only charged around $150 ish for that 3D scan! read more

The facility is ultra modern and very elegant. And Dr. Axx and his staff were very nice. But these are not the critical factors for selecting a dental provider. My wife went for a root canal. A year or so after, there was an infection, requiring another expensive procedure called an Apicoectomy, at significant additional cost. While this is always a possibility with root canals, our outcome wasn't satisfactory. Why would we return? We will take our chances with another endodontist. read more

I was referred to an endodontist by my dentist to discuss a root canal, or a potentially cracked molar (which would negate the root canal option). He had recommended an endodontist that had a 2 week wait. I wanted to come in much sooner than that because I was experiencing a lot of pain. After calling several offices, Arcadia Endodontics accommodated me the same day. The office was nicely appointed/decorated. It was also very clean. The staff was extremely pleasant, and professional. I saw Dr. Clatanoff. After reviewing my X-Rays, Dr. Clatanoff spent a lot of time (I never felt rushed) explaining the X-ray; my current condition; as well as my options --including the pros and cons. He was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant, and honest. His advice/ recommended treatment plan was based upon what was best for me, including variables known and unknown (the "what if's"). Going to the dentist aside, not terrible. I possibly needed a root canal and was referred here after a different entodondist advised me he did a 'not covered by insurance scan' on all patients. I mean, I get it, you went to dental school, you're more knowledgeable than me, but maybe at least look in my mouth before insisting on doing a procedure not covered by insurance. Anyway, I digress. This place I liked. I was seen by Dr. Axx and a nice woman who's name that started with a T (that I will definitely update in my review at my next appointment.) Even before my first appointment, they were very good about getting me as accurate quotes as possible for the initial exam. I specifically inquired about the scan the first endodontist wanted to do, they said they would do it if necessary. Now that makes sense to me. As for the actual experience, wow. Blown away. These people were sickeningly nice. But like in a good way. I had a couple different options for a root canal. They explained how the procedure would be done, the different options, and the pros and cons and cost benefits of each so I could make an educated decision. In truth, the world is a better place with Dr. Axx, aka, El Kevino. His chairside manner is sublime. He explains everything. He's personable. Friendly. Relaxed. And likes to laugh. Plus he has a great reputation. I live in Buckeye and three dental professionals knew him and admired his work. One endodontist told me that the root canal Dr. Axx performed was through the crown and was, and I quote, "Beautiful." For me, root canals are over hyped. I.e., there's nothing to them -- especially when one requests el gas-o-reno. During one root canal I continually fell asleep and during the procedure with El Kevino I dozed off a couple of times. Lastly, Dr. Axx has the latest equipment. And his office is tastefully and minimally decorated. Good magazines, too. Plus he keeps the entire office blessedly cool and clean as a whistle. Upshot? During my initial phone call with Erica, and follow up with Aileen, I knew I had connected with a top notch practice, Arcadia Endodontics. I, like most people, do not like dental work but I had done my research when I was told by my dentist that I may need a root canal. I first consulted a friend, whose opinions I value greatly. She recommended Dr. Axx highly. After reading online reviews I felt comfortable moving forward with Dr. Axx. My consultation appointment with Dr. Axx and his assistant Carol confirmed the positive reviews. Carol is like a big warm (virtual) hug and immediately calmed my fears. Dr. Axx's calm, confident expertise cemented my decision. Tona assisted Dr. Axx with the root canal and her upbeat personality and teamwork with Dr. Axx was a well oiled machine. Throughout the whole process from beginning to end, Dr. Axx listened intently to my concerns and difficulty with getting numb. He expertly administered the local anesthesia and I was pain free. I was visiting Arizona and had to have an emergency root canal. I have never had a root canal before, and was nervous about doing it with a brand new dentist/endodontist. I found this place to be very nice, the staff was very nice. Valencia is a total sweetheart but.....I literally had an appt at my dentist at 7 am and had xrays done. They referred me to Arcadia Endo and I made an appt for 1145. So, literally 5 hours later, I was in the chair and was told they needed xrays AGAIN. I asked if my insurance covered it because I JUST had them done and she said yes. Not the truth. I had to pay for them. On top of a ridiculous office visit fee. It cost me 108.00 to have an xray and fir the dentist to give me antibiotics. I was told nothing could be done until I paid 275.00 for a "special xray". read more

I Had a dull pain in my molar, and along with ear and jaw pain. So my fabulous dentist John Pappas at Arcadia Dental Arts, put in a referral for me to see Dr. Axx. at Arcadia Endodontics, they got me right in, I met Dr Axx and his amazing assistant, after a few xrays, it was determined a root canal was needed. My fear was elevated, but quickly relieved when his sweet assistant made me feel better! She has a such a calm, professional demeanor! This place is the worst! Unprofessional, vile and disgusting people. Janet and Kevin Axx are dishonest sc*m bags. I went in for a root canal two weeks ago and so called Dr axx couldn't complete the procedure because he said it was too difficult, and he had ot scene an infection like mine before and couldn't get the tooth to drain. Yea some experienced dentist he is. Janet the sales woman who is a pathological liar came before the procedure to tell me i had to pay $1814 out of pocket. Even though I have insurance and they simply could of billed my insurance directly. She told me "I was not in the network". Ok so why didn't you tell me this before I came in? You had two whole days after my main dentist referred me to your office and gave you my insurance information. So I paid out of pocket because I was in so much pain. A few days later I find out they billed my insurance and asked my insurance to send them a check for $1100+. I called my insurance and asked told them I had already paid. My insurance was very surprised to hear that and said that is not normal for them to have me pay in full and then bill my insurance at the same time. On top of all this dr axx didn't schedule me in for a second visit even tho he told me in person I had to come back two weeks later. Janet the compulsive liar and sales woman was rude and condescending when ever I asked her simple questions. I told her I did not want to return to their office because I did not feel comfortable. They were supposed to refund me $1132. Janet told me I would only be getting back $932 because there's a cancelation fee of $200, and that I would only get the full $1132 if I came back to their office for mt second visit. So I decided to reschedule the appointment back on the 11th. The day before the 10th they sent me a letter telling me it's best that I find another provider, Janet didn't tell me about this even though she handles scheduling and she knew it was sent out. She schedules me for June 22nd and told it was because they were so busy and couldn't get me in sooner. These low life's run this dental office like a used car dealership. What can I say?!? Do I bother you with what lead me to see Dr. Axx? I think I should. I had a root canal 4 months ago with my dentist In LA. Three days ago I took a trip to Miami and the same tooth started bothering me to a point where I was losing my mind. I ended up seeing a dentist in Miami, who informed me the root canal that was done was never finished by my LA dentist, since I was en rout to AZ, he recommended Dr. Axx. Needless to say, I was pretty upset of the news. Dr Axx worked me into a very busy schedule. And let me tell you, I'm glad he did. He explained everything in detail, the staff was amazing, polite, courteous, and very sensitive to my level 10 pain that I was in. The treatment was methodical, painless, and with much care. He followed up with me the day after to make sure I'm ok. He sent me a copy of the procedure with images. I'm a MD myself and live in LA, but I can guarantee one thing, the next time I need treatment, I'll fly to AZ to see Dr. Axx!!!!!!!!! I am no stranger to dental work. Very impressed with this practice. As a retired nurse, I look with a critical eye at cleanliness, professionalism, friendliness, efficiency, care of the patient during a procedure, clear post procedure instructions, and courtesy between staff. And they get an "A+" in all categories! Dr Axx was so kind, respectful, answered all my questions willingly, and just as important, treated his staff likewise using "please" and "thank you" when he interacted with them. The staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. I tend to be afraid of going to the dentist, but Dr Axx was so warm I felt fine. I am soooo happy to see that Arcadia Endodontics has all 5-star reviews. The office was able to see me same day after a referral from my regular dentist. After it was concluded that I needed a rootie (my first), Doc Axx let me ask a million questions and genuinely assuaged my fears and concerns. The office staff promptly contacted my insurance and had everything laid out for me and was able to schedule me almost immediately. They ensured I understood my options, and I seriously felt like I was the most important patient of all time. The best part is that Doc Axx is an endodontic maestro. Admittedly, I'm a baby... and by the time my appointment arrived I had freaked myself out by reading too much on the internet. However, he made the procedure painless, fast, and pure textbook. I wanted to take a moment and recognize Dr. Axx and his amazing staff. I don't usually write reviews unless its warented. Originally, I was pretty nervous to get a root canal done. This was a procedure I knew very little about and what to ultimately expect along with the success rate of the procedure. I needed two so I really wanted to do my diligence. My initial thought was to visit a few Doctors and see who I felt comfortable with. I was originally referred to Dr. Axx and knew quickly I was in good hands. The experience was first class from the moment I walked through the door. The staff was welcoming and made me feel right at home. Carol Steph and the rest of the staff where absolutely AMAZING! They continously checked on my comfort and made the process a plesant one. Every office needs a Carol! :) Dr. Axx hands down is one of the best! He broke down the entire procedure, why this was the best rout to take in order to save my teeth and what to expect during the recovery period. And did his diligence and followed up with me on his day off to make sure I was doing well. Pretty cool!
