Excellent care under Dr Neil Zachs. Very detailed and always a success with implants and dental surgeries here. He's been my implant specialist for about 20 years now. This review is not targeted towards the doctor or clinical team. I had Dr. Lammont and he's done two root canals. He's fantastic and quick and such a painless procedure. I never felt any after pain. This was for two molar teeth. My only qualms is the administration team. They have a contact us on their page but they have never answered my question. I have delta dental and they are in-network for this practice thankfully. However I still ended up paying almost 500 out of pocket! I believe they balance bill which they are NOT supposed to do, due to being in-network for my insurance. It'd only be 500 if they're charging a ridiculous amount for a root canal well above standard amount. With my insurance they maxed the entire plan out which was honestly shocking. I recently got a root canal and crown and paid almost 500 out of pocket for BOTH from a different dentist. I even have almost 100$ left in my plan. That says a lot. Anyways I tried reaching out to them to ask about the break down and they never got back to me. A bunch of money siphons! I'd avoid this place. I love Dr. Lammont and his team but administration is some shady team. It's full of young women who are busy chatting with each other and not actually helping patients. Also side note for my root canal they let a student sit in and assist Dr. Lammont. I was not informed of this and not offered the choice if I wanted the student to sit in. The student had no prior experience assisting with a root canal. The student was originally watching the procedure and then they were like "you want to sit in? Okay grab some gloves" and never asked me if I was okay with it. If I'm going to be your Guinea pig at least ask or give me a friggin discount to let you spectate. Student did a terrible job by the way. Kept poking me in the mouth. Hope she doesn't become an endodontist. read more

I totally agree with the earlier reviewer who said they were impressed with Dr. Johan Kritzinger and the staff at Canyon Ridge Dental. I was sent to them directly from my dentist's office. I met with Dr. Kritzinger who did a thorough exam, explained the findings and options in a very objective, calm and soft-spoken manner. I decided to proceed with the root canal that was performed right away with dental assistant Shyra who provided for my comfort throughout. I've worked with many medical professionals during my career and could tell that Dr. Kritzinger is a patient-centered provider who acts with integrity and respect to his staff and those under his care alike. I have had no post-procedure discomfort, have not even needed to pick up a prescription that had been sent in for me. This is an efficient, client-centered practice. read more

Everyone was professional and caring. The procedure went as expected. Post-procedure plans were clearly explained. Since many patients require a driver, the waiting room was too small. And if your appointment is mid-morning or later, you can possibly expect a delay. While we were close to on time, other patients were waiting for over an hour. read more

While I do regret saying this because the consultation and my dentist was very nice and seemed to CARE, their business model is flawed. Do NOT go here if you don't have a lot of excess money. Even with great dental insurance which INCLUDES orthodontia, it doesn't matter- they want at least $200 as a non-refundable "fee" regardless of the service you're offered FOR EVERY SERVICE. That means even if you pay a lot for dental insurance and you have a low copay, they still want $200. Every time you go there. Just because. I hope this place goes out of business. This is exploitation manifest. PLEASE, don't help this place by going there. Go somewhere else. read more

I am so grateful that this place helped me get out of pain on the weekend. The doctor called in medication to help me get through the weekend and got me in immediately for a root canal on Monday. Dr. Perman is so professional, kind, gentle, efficient, and skilled. He is like the Mr. Rogers of endodontists! Dr. Kim was very kind and supportive on the weekend. Kind of venting here - Canyon Ridge Ortho is a repeat offender. A simple root canal. My primary dentist, for an annual visit, after taking complete X-rays saw that I needed a root canal and referred it over to Canyon Ridge. Sure OK. I'd been there 2-3 times before over th past 15 years (though I had forgotten their M.O.) I make an appointment - provide complete info, including scans of my license and insurance etc ... and confirmation emails and texts. 4 days later I arrive at my appointment. They drop a packet of forms in my lap (same info I provided over the past week). I spend 20 mins RE-filling out forms. Now the good part. They provide the advanced "estimate" of the charges. The root canal - 90% covered by insurance $30-$40 out of pocket paid in advance. But then there is a cryptic CBDC or something charge ... $370 out of pocket - not covered by insurance. What the heck is this? I ask. Oh- that is for a complete set of X-ray Images. umm... You have the referral with the tooth # for the root canal. And the primary dentists provided the recent set of images from 4 days ago. Our Dentists likes to have their own set of images, just to be thorough. (goodie for him!) -- I say "I'll be passing on that charge" - he has enough. "Well, we require the images in order to do the root canal." In other words $400+ in advance otherwise I can't have the root canal. Of course I walk out of the office, and choose my own dentists from the insurance list, By Damn - they get away with that cr*p? This place is excellent. If you are scheduled to have any work done there, you are in good hands. Very competent, very professional and very personable. I had a root canal done by Dr. Thomas Helvey and his assistant Sam and it went great! Do not fear and do not worry. They are good people and will take good care of you. They know what they are doing. The receptionist was excellent and competent too. Very warm and friendly. Sleep in peace the night before because it is going to be fine! I highly recommend them. And I am persnickity. I was treated very rudely by this office. First I was forced to go to the Tatum location because dr Lammot couldn't see me at the location I preferred. When I arrived at the office they assigned me to a different doctor with no explanation. Then they tried to bill me $350 for a consultation fee which is not covered by my insurance even though my insurance covers root canal therapy at 100%. They were charging me to retake X-rays which I had just had 1 month earlier at my general dentists office. When I asked why they couldn't use the X-rays the snippy office lady lied to me and said the X-rays couldn't be sent electronically. That's not TRUE. They had contacted my insurance for pre approval but never notified me of this hidden fee prior to my arrival for my appointment. The uncaring attitude of this office was shocking. read more

My review is for Dr Zachs and his staff. I went to another periodontist and walked out of that consultation because it was so awful. Starting over again was not exactly exciting but I've put off my gum grafting for too long and it's time. Ugh. Dr Zachs is a no-nonsense professional. He comes in, gets down to business and you're on your way. He's a busy man and he doesn't have time for small talk, which I can respect. Others may want to chat but I, personally, don't have the time so that doesn't bother me. He does sometimes run behind which can be annoying but I've never felt rushed with my millions of questions so he wins a star back for that. Plus, his staff is always super friendly and entertaining. The day of my first surgery, I was in and out in less than an hour. Again, he's not one for small talk and he's all business but when you have a gigantic needle coming at your face, do you want to chat? I think not! The procedure was as good as can be expected. The facility is clean and sterile, the check in was seamless and the doc didn't hesitate to be generous with that numbing needle. I panicked a little at first, and had to call the office because I thought I may have gotten myself infected and the staff was super accommodating and got me right in. Luckily it was my over active imagination, but knowing they didn't hesitate to spring into action was comforting. I've already booked my second round and I know I'm in good hands. If you're looking for a great periodontist, Dr Zachs is your man. read more

Upon being referred to Canyon Ridge by my regular dentist due to a probable need for a root canal, I was able to get an appointment quickly. Jocelyn checked me in and was friendly and efficient. Dr. Khalifa and his assistant Karina were excellent. They explained what was happening at each step and were constantly insuring I was comfortable. Check out with Grace was efficient and when I returned to my regular dentist to get a crown, he commented on what a great job Dr. Khalifa had done. I highly recommend Canyon Ridge. read more

Let me first say Dr. Lammont was hands down the best in the industry, great table manners, personable and does phenomenal work. No question on why he comes so highly recommended. It's just to bad he's sold out to another corporate poorly managed company. The staff leaves much to be desired, I walk in there are six girls behind the desk just chatting away about life. I had a root canal done, the next day my crown popped off completely. When you leave the office staff tells you to call if you need anything, the paperwork they give you tell you to call if anything is need, yet no buddy every answers or calls you back. The office was my first call at 9am when it opens, I left multiple messages for the "operating manager" who I have yet to hear from to this day. When you call that number is goes straight to voicemail without a ring, which clearly means it's either set up that way to screen calls, her phone is on DND or they just flat out don't care about the customer to give them a call back. I wonder how many voicemails are on that message box. I was able to get ahold of my regular dentist, who was able to get me in the next day but they needed the notes from the work Dr. Lammont did. Once again called the "operating manager" with no luck. I ended up calling the scheduling department who answered and said "please hold, I have two other customers in front of you". Eighteen (18) minutes later that same lady came on the phone. I informed her that I was not happy it took 18 minutes and I have been trying to get ahold of someone for a full day now and her response was "well I had other customers so what did you want me to do?" Understanding customer service has gone out the window fully when covid hit but to just blatantly express your lack of care to customers is WILD. I've spoken with multiple people sense and the common agreement is Dr. Lammont is great but the staff and corporation he sold leave a lot to be desired. I don't know how this company has such a high rating but my suggestion to the general public is understand your paying for the doctor and hope you don't need help from the staff because they clearly don't care about the customer. read more

Of course I was nervous when I entered.. but there was no need. Ryane was the kind receptionist that took my information and told me that they would be right with me. True to their word, Saira came out and greeted me at the exact time of my appt. She gathered more info and then took needed tests, explaining as she went. Dr Helvey was professional and very pleasant. His examination was thorough and then he took time to explain the treatment plan and options. When I was ready to leave I met with Grace, who checked to see if I was happy with how I was treated. Her tone was sincere and she smiled just like everyone else. Wow ... And not in a good way. I waited more than 90 minutes after my scheduled appointment time for a doc to show up. When he finally did, he spent just a few minutes with me, said he couldn't do anything, then sent me on my way. They charged nearly $800 for the consultation: insurance covered a portion. Lessons learned. I should've asked exactly how much I was in for before the appointment ... better yet, I should've waited NO more than 20 minutes. read more

This was THE WORST root canal I've ever had and I have had quite a few. I'm never an anxious or nervous patient but this was awful. Root canal: after 4 days of pain and searching for help I ended in Dr Khalifa hands. My pain was 30 out of 10. Dr Khalifa is amazing, very professional, whatever goes in your mind pain fear ... his attitude, his positiveness, office vibe just makes you forget about your pain. I needed emergency work in another clinic, he called his people, told them I am on my way I got there in 15 min and everyone was waiting for me. Dr Erin (an Orthodontist) in the other office was young but wow she was amazing, professional, attentive, careful zero pain. I applaud both of you Dr Khalifa and Dr Erin and both your office teams. Treating people like you want to be treated especially when they are in pain has no price. I wish all the best and more success. I am recovering and I feeling better. Dr. Dustin Putnam w/ Tatum Creek Family Dentistry (also 5 star!) referred me to Dr. Lammot for my first ever root canal. They were able to get me for an appointment within 2 weeks during the busy holiday season @ the Desert Ridge location. At check-in Erika was quick and efficient, and was able to answer all of my questions regarding insurance, co-pay, and payment options. Dayanara did my CT scan, and made sure I was comfortable during the process. Dr. Lammot ensured I understood what was being done (drew a picture of my tooth and all), and why. All of my questions & concerns were addressed, and I felt very heard. He's professional, qualified, and efficient! While I hope to never have another root canal, I would definitely come back to this location and staff. I've recommended/referred my personal friends and family to this practice. read more

Dr. Lammott is beyond incredible and is supported by a 5-star team!! Estefania and Omar did an amazing job assisting and matched Dr. Lammott's quality and speed. Jocelyn at the front desk, along with Guadalupe who supported my exit process and payment were both fantastic, friendly, and helpful! Thank you all!! Normally, you'd say an experience like this was too good to be true, but was it ever TRUE! Dr. Lammott is the fusion of a perfect bedside manner (peak emotional intelligence, simple notepad sketch drawn with laymen speak vs. technical, over-my-head talking while pointing to CT scan image), humble confidence matured by conducting over 50, 000 root canals, master-craftsman speed while still delivering a precise, optimal surgery, and then thorough walk-through of post-op instructions followed by deliberate, natural eye contact and answering any patient questions. I think it took all but 18 minutes from "Ok, are you ready?" to "Ok, you're all done. Couldn't believe it." I said I was waiting for him to say "Ok, I'm going to make the incision now" and instead he started stitching me up. We then laughed as he said the incision was the first 30-seconds. The numbing was perfect and not unpleasant, I had no clue he had even cut my gums. Been through the wringer with dental issues since a kid and a huge differentiator is effectiveness with the numbing agent and injection precision. The top 1% and most savvy understand this and can artfully make this a superior experience. Dr. Lammott possesses this skill. I couldn't believe how gentle the numbing was and even so for the palate injection. The lidocaine or novocaine is clearly premium quality. Like any pharma lido/novacaine is no exception...there is a difference from branded vs. cost-effective. We are just always at the whim of what the practice chooses to spend for. Clearly, Dr. Lammott used some premium quality product. Overall, as much as I hope to never have to be operated on again, I'll gladly do it if needed...if it's Dr. Lammott! You just don't find surgeons and dental professionals like this. Thank you, sir! read more

I just came home from my first appointment with Dr. Johan Kritzinger over at Canyon Ridge Endodontics over on Tatum in Desert Ridge, and I am IMPRESSED. Dr. Kritzinger is thoughtful, intelligent, methodical, insightful, graced with excellent communication skills, and as a person, he is warm and deeply kind. His outstanding assistant Kirsten is right there with him, following along with everything being discussed, anticipating the doctor's every clinical need, and helping the patient through it all. They create an outstanding endodontic environment, one in which I learned as much as I was helped. I'm so grateful to have found Dr. Kritzinger and Kirsten and I cannot recommend them highly enough! read more

Dr. Perman was excellent and took great care of me on short notice, so this review is not based on his services. It's a shame the back office support doesn't match the dental service. If I could give negative stars, I would. Ruby (Billing Manager) and Yvette (Practice Manager) are two of the most incompetent individuals I have ever worked with in the back office. My services were performed on August 9th, 2024. I was not notified there was a billing issue until April 21st, 2025. I had dual coverage at the time of services, so I know for a fact I have plenty of coverage to handle the claim. My referring office was able to get me in on very short notice (30 mins) to get to their office, so I was not prepared (literally no identification or payment method with me). They worked with me on getting services completed, and I promised to call them with a CC as soon as I got back home; their offices closed at 5 p.m. I called around 4:50 p.m., and no one answered, so I left a message. I was expecting a call for a deposit payment, and it never came. Months go by, and I receive an email from Ruby on April 21st, 2025, basically telling me I have a balance of $2225 and my account is "VERY past due". My first question to her was, "What took so long to notify me there was an issue?". I figured it has something to do with the dual coverage, so it should be simple, right? Yeah, no..in my corresponding emails with Ruby, her tone insinuates I am trying to defraud the practice in some way. I asked that Ruby provide me with all of the documentation, and I will contact both carriers directly and see where I can assist. May 15th, I contacted both carriers; one carrier needs me or Canyon Ridge to answer 6 questions from the EOB, and the other needs the EOB from the other carrier, simple enough. I emailed Ruby back with this information, and the first sentence in her response was "As I stated in the first email this account is VERY past due." Once again, the tone of the entire email was unprofessional and accusatory in tone, and this time, I request to speak with her manager (Yvette). As expected, Yvette didn't call me on May 15th. I did call her and left a message as well with no return call. On May 16th, I spoke to Yvette. The purpose of this call was to understand why Rudy was sending emails in her tone and what needs to be done to clear this issue up. Well, to my surprise, Yvette carried the same tone as when on the phone. "We don't have dental cards or ID for you, nor did we get payment, and we don't know which is the primary insurance". I pause her there, all of this is regarding dental cards and the declaration of which is my primary carrier (my job insurance is primary btw), which they had correct. Our 1st conversation ended with Yvette threatening that if I don't provide dental cards by the end of the day today, they would pursue additional actions. This was the first time, In the more than 11 email exchanges with Rudy, not once was my dental cards requested, maybe it's a poor assumption on my part, I would expect my referring practice to provide that information, but it was not provided. I asked Yvette the same question, What took you so long to request that information, CRICKETS, no answer from her. Within a matter of minutes, I emailed Rudy one dental card I have saved and called my other carrier to obtain the other, since my coverage had lapsed in 8/31/24, my card was not available. However, I did have a declaration of insurance page, and I emailed this information to Ruby. I then make my 2nd phone call to Yvette to let her know this information was sent to Ruby. This conversation went sideways as well, because by this time, I realized I was dealing with a back office of incompetent individuals. Rudy threatens to hang up the call after I call out all the at least 10 opportunities her team had to avoid getting to this point. I told her to disconnect the call, and I will ensure others are aware of how this was handled. read more

I had the best experience with Dr. Helvey. I truly cannot say enough!! I was referred here for dull tooth pain on an old filling. After x-rays and CT scans, Dr. Helvey determined that I needed a root canal. My initial consult was at desert ridge and my root canal at the Scottsdale location. I had never had one before and was terrified from all of the horror stories. He walked me though everything and kept me so calm. It was truly a breeze!! I'm so thankful that this experience wasn't traumatic like I've heard and if I ever need another root canal, I'll be coming back here 100%! read more

Many times what most people need is not a brilliant mind but a kind heart that listens. And most people dread medical professionals, particularly dentists and endodontists, because no one looks forward to teeth being pulled much less have a root canal. This was the easiest experience I could ask for maybe because I have a high threshold for pain and partly attributed to being numb for hours after my procedure. Everyone is so wonderful here from check in to after care check ups to ensure your well-being. So grateful my dentist referred me to them. I love they discuss costs with you before you undergo a consult and it's not surprise. And if a procedure is required, they talk options and provide guidance of the best one for you. Dr. Khalifa is incredible and not enough words to praise him. He's thoughtful, patient, an expert in both human relationships and teeth mechanics. He's calming during a stressful procedure and yet he injects humor and tidbits so it's not overwhelming. My nurse was extremely kind and sweet too but I can't remember her name. While I don't want to make it a habit to see this office, I highly recommend them if you need to see a specialist. Kindness is more than just deeds. It is attitude. It is facial expression. Each staff member I engaged with was very friendly. Every step was explained to me clearly and overall communication was great, including a breakdown of cost. This was my first root canal, let alone at 26 weeks pregnant. Needless to say I was ANXIOUS. From the time I walked in and was warmly greeted by reception, filled out their paperwork and given the price breakdown I would pay after the procedure. I was brought back by Dr Perman's assistant who was so kind and explained each step of the process which put me at ease. The entire procedure was so painless I couldn't believe it. I so appreciate Dr Perman always checking in to make sure I wasn't having any pain throughout the procedure, and went through what to expect before during and after. I was referred to Dr Lammot late in the day for a quick assessment. Upon arrival I was greeted, information collected and in a chair in less than 10 min. Did 3 D extra rays, reviewed them and determined there was a serious issue and asked if I had time to do a root canal which was inevitable, I had a small issue but said yes and he said I will have you out of here by 5:45. I was walking out the door at literally 5:46 pm. Chair side etiquette was awesome and very genuine guy/Dr. Great experience. His assistance were of the same nature. Highly recommend. Phil C. read more
