Pleasantly surprised by Thom Thom! My husband and I had a groupon to this place, but put off going because it gets so-so reviews on Yelp. Soooo we decided to give it a try before the deal expires, and had an early Saturday dinner. The restaurant was about a quarter full when we arrived and totally full by the time we left. Good idea to make reservations. Anyway, we split a California roll for an appetizer, and then I had the Crazy Salmon Roll and husband had Marinated Skirt Steak. Everything was delicious! This place was great. The food amazing. The service was top of the line. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone who knows good food. The shrimp... Spicy and sweet. I was brought by a date. He knew I was big on food. I let him order everything. I wanted to know what he thought fantastic food was. He was right on the money about all. Vodka drink with pineapple and cranberry wow! Delisious... But only one one drink... Can't get sloppy or this date. The pitta dipping trio was nice. The humus was creamy and flavorful. This has become a familiar spot for me and my sig. The food is really good and the price is even better. If you decide to dine here, the Sushi rolls are great for an appetizer and I highly recommend the skirt steak for you meal. The lobster tail is worth it also. read more

Have been here a couple of times. Food is OK. We are big steak eaters and have eaten at some of the best steakhouses in NY and other states. Like I said, OK. Not something unforgettable. My Sangria was watered down and I know Sangria. For me best part was the pita and dips, which I'm sure is not homemade. Depends on my mood if I will return. Think it's a little pricey for its food and service. Won't write them completely off. We'll see next time I go if I will remain a returning patron. read more

I had dinner with friends Friday night and although the restaurant the bar section sure was. The bartenders were little rushed and seemed very unwelcoming. I wouldn't want them to be the first thing someone would see at my restaurant. The waiter was okay not overly friendly but not rude. We were a party of 4 and two of the four of us enjoyed our meal. I ordered the shell steak and it was tough and needed some flavor. You would think for a place that calls it self a steakhouse the steak would be of better quality. The mixed appetizer selection was good. Overall it was an okay experience I would try it again but hopefully better bar staff. read more

We brought my Father in Law here for dinner. We sat at the bar for a drink first. To my surprise they had one of my favorites Delirium Tremens in bottles that was a nice treat. My husband had the duck breast, my Father in Law ordered the Paella and I ordered the sushi and sashimi dinner. We did not order an appetizer because we over did it on the pita bread basket. The duck breast was fabulous! I ordered is medium rare for him and instead of bok choy he wanted sweet potato risotto. The duck was well prepared. It was tender and moist the skin was crispy, but not over done. The risotto was creamy and complimented the duck well. The paella was wonderful as well. Chris stole a few bites from his father I went on paella night with my dad a few months back so I didn't take any. My sushi was exactly what I was hoping for. I love sushi but it is hard to make a meal of it because it is so light. The plate was full, the fish was fresh everything looked and smelled great. I was very pleased. For dessert we ordered our usual double espressos, and cappuccino. The whole experience was very nice the waitress was great, the bartender was friendly, and the food was great. Some of the slowest service I've ever experienced in my life. But good food. I went for the Valentines Day prix fixe. $55 per person, plus tax and tip. With a drink, total for two came to $150 plus tip. The meal was supposed to include free champagne and rose. FYI I watched other tables, and no one got champagne. I asked where it was at the end of my meal and was told, "Oh? Champagne dessert! Most certainly!" Obnoxious response from the server imho. The food was excellent. I started with sushi; it was fresh and clean, and I could have eaten twice as much. Presentation was excellent as well. Our drinks arrived after the appetizer, which is unfortunate, but the server apologized and I understand that the bar was probably overwhelmed. No big deal. My main course was oven roasted chicken breast, with charred asparagus, and potato. Also delicious, well seasoned, and filling. My thanks to the chef. After the main course, we waited approximately 15 minutes in front of our empty plates, and our server was no where to be found. All of the tables around us waited with checks, dirty dishes, etc, as the server for this section had disappeared. When he finally arrived, he had forgotten what we ordered for dessert, so we reminded him. We were not told that a scoop of vanilla icecream (our request) would be an addition $4.95 when we chose that as a substitute for the desserts on the prix fixe menu. But here's the best part. After taking my credit card, our server disappeared for **18** minutes. How do I know? Because I timed it, because we were trying to catch a train. There is no excuse for disappearing for that long. I had to get up and ask a bus boy where our server was. Anyway, that 18 minute wait really ruined the experience for me. Other than that, the food is superb. Perhaps go on a night where you know it won't be busy? read more

The skirt streak is amazing and the waiters are friendly and always make good conversation. Nice beer selection (a few good IPA's) and the sushi is fresh and always good. The sides are delicious (especially the creamed spinach) and all the meats are great. Cant wait to go back. read more

Went here with a party of 6 for Easter Sunday Brunch. Reservations were required and we were promptly seated upon our arrival. The place was certainly not packed, so the noise level was not overwhelming. The brunch buffet had a nice assortment of cold & hot foods, but my main focus was the sushi. The sushi chefs were continuously making rolls and sashimi pieces throughout the early afternoon. My only qualm was the lack of variety in desserts - macaroons, brownies and tricolor cookies - just not enough. The price for bunch, $27.95pp, was excellent considering Easter Sunday restaurants usually jack up prices. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants! My husband and I come here after work every Tuesday: for their special filet mignon! The staff is great, they know our order right when they see us, the food is amazing ! And for being consistent customers they throw in free desserts here and there which make us feel appreciated ! My hubby and I went there this evening for my birthday, it was sooooo good! This was our first time here. The place is decorated very modern but comfy as well, loved the decor! They have a prix-fix menu during the week, so we had a three course meal for a very reasonable cost!! We also enjoyed a Yummy bottle of California Red wine - that was very good and not crazy expensive!!! Our server - Lindsey was so nice. I brought my camera to take pics and she was so nice and took some for me. At dessert time, she sang Happy Birthday to me, I will Definitely come back!!! read more

Went there on a friday night, the place was packed, it seats 200 and every seat was taken, the room is small for that much seating, which made it quite noisy, with that kind of crows the noise is to be expected but still hard to have a conversation during dinner, I recommend going on an off night Parking was great even though the restaurant was full. Watching the food as delivered, the presentation is excellent, everything we saw delivered was almost artful. The food was quite good, very flavorful, I had the steak and turf, the tail was crispy fresh, the steak had great flavor, though it was a smidge tough, I still recomend. Every time I've come here, I've always loved my meal. They have great happy hour specials if you are looking for a quick bite. Place gets pretty packed on the weekends, definitely recommend getting a reservation. Nice decor and lighting. Only downside is they don't have great parking. Excellent drink/wine menu. Got a last minute res on a Saturday night and was seated promptly. It was the first visit for my party of 3. We are happy engaging people and the restaurant was not packed yet so we engaged our server by saying we were happy to be there and it was our first time. Other than an "oh, that's nice " we got no other response, no offer to review menu items or go over specials. Other than being ignored, the food was nicely prepared. The sushi roll we ordered as an app was nice albeit with no wasabi or ginger. Rack of lamb was tender and flavorful but a bit undercooked for medium. Filet was nice. Marinated skirt steak was very nice, a twitch sweet for my taste though. Mushroom risotto was a nice treat as a side, the creamed spinach, less so. Love love love that the corking fee is only 15.00. Would definitely return to try other menu items and hopefully get a more personable server. read more

My husband and I visited thom thom steakhouse for the first time Sunday evening as we had a LivingSocial voucher. We had no idea kids eat free w/ each adult. So the place was loud with several parties celebrating birthdays .There was only one waiter for the whole place! He tried his best but even with the bartender, trying to play hostess and help serve he could not keep up. The teenage bus boy never pored more water despite several requests. The pita bread was excellent. My filet mignon was cooked correctly and husband enjoyed his Pork. We had to beg the owner? Who seemed to be eating with his family to get our check?? We actually paid cash so we would not have to wait even longer for the waiter to run our credit card. The poor service became a drag and we may not rush back anytime soon. read more

I've been here a few times - the food is good, but far from memorable. Last time I went with the sesame crusted tuna. It was slightly under seasoned, but came with a delicious sweet potato risotto that did the trick. The dishes are normal sized and filling. We ordered a side of creamed spinach and asparagus. I didn't eat the creamed spinach, but the asparagus had a gas taste to them - almost like they'd been cooked on a grill and the flame went out, so they were left over gas. That's not the most satisfying taste. What really brings this place down is the service. Our waitress seemed confused at times and lacked a personality. When it came time to pay the bill, she charged us for another table's meal - it was significantly more expensive. She went back to fix it and came back to assure us that we had been refunded and applied the proper amount. My mom asked for a receipt, but she said they could not provide a receipt. My mom, working in retail, knew that this was incorrect and knew the problems this could pose should we get charged - you always get a receipt! She finally got a manager who was able to provide us with a receipt and she apologized for the inconvenience. I always rate a place based on the food, but the service really affected our experience. read more

My husband called 2 weeks ahead for anniversary reservation and when we arrived our table was next to the door. There were plenty of other tables available and we requested to mive. The service was friendly and quick and the drinks were served promptly. We ordered the meatball appetizer and they were mediocre at best but mediocre is better than spoiled and uncooked. I ordered the sea bass and my bf ordered the chicken. The chicken was not cooked through and was pink in the middle and chewy. The sea bass was off tasting and the accompanying bok Choy was filled with sand. The waitress was apologetic but there was no manager to be seen. Was here once for a birthday party and food was outstanding. Steak melts in your mouth! Figured we'll go for restaurant week try their pre-fixe menu and so glad we did! Usually on these menus you get smaller portions as restaurants will tend to skimp a bit but not here! For appetizer I had kung pao calamari it was a full portion, very soft and fresh, cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. My girlfriend had the surf and turf roll which had skirt steak in it- she loved it. For dinner we had the filet mignon with Gorgonzola crust- amazing. Friends with us ordered the paella, salmon and chicken and there was not one crumb left on anyones plates. I'm not usually a dessert fan but as part of the menu I ordered the molten lava cake- wow. Can't say enough good things will definitely be back. Our server and all the staff was very attentive- plates were cleaned up immediately water/drinks always full. Highly recommend! read more

Went last night for Restaurant Week. The place was packed, yet the server was attentive and cheerful. I'm sorry I didn't catch her name. Drinks were creative and tasty, perfectly made. Not too weak or strong. The meatball appetizer was delicious but kept repeating on me all night. My friend had the Kung Pao calamari with peanut sauce and said he really enjoyed it. I had the petite filet with string beans and roasted potatoes. All were cooked to perfection, very tasty and fresh. He thoroughly enjoyed the Sushi Roll. We shared the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream and a warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Both were delicious. We were not rushed and had a lovely night out.
