HORRIBLE STORE. The have an "all sales final" policy even on full price items that was not disclosed to me at the time of purchase even when I told the clerk that I wanted to try it on in different lighting and may return it. It is deceptive customer service to have a customer purchase something they may return without telling the customer that a return is only for store credit. Pure greed on the owners part. read more

Drawn in by the pretty window display, I was immediately taken back by the overbearing, negative customer service. My well behaved 5 y/o was treated like he had a contagious disease. The owner or manager, blond middle-aged chic, had "I don't want your business" written all over her face. She luckily had one nice salesperson who helped me. Upon leaving, the blond basically pushed us out of the store demanding we pick up our parcels so she could hang a wreath. She's doing herself nor the shops around her any favors. Don't waste your time, or God forbid your money, on her overpriced merchandise. Rather, spend it elsewhere in Concord with well-deserving businesses who know how to treat people humanely. read more

I've liked many of the items in this store in the past. But today I was dismayed to hear the salesperson telling an in-store customer about a recent caller who asked some questions about an upcoming sale. This salesperson repeated the caller's questions for everyone to hear, laughing about the caller's cluelessness --an unprofessional and condescending thing to do with other customers around. read more

Thistle Hill is one of my very favorite stores. Such beautiful clothes, bedding and housewares. The store is always so clean, beautiful and cozy. I could stay all day. Slowly but surely I'm filling my house and closet with things from Thistle Hill -- and, everything I buy there become some of my favorite things. I see some of the other comments that speak badly of Kelly, the store owner. This really surprises me as I love Kelly. She has always been incredibly warm, cheerful and welcoming, both to me and any other person I see her interacting with. I have never felt anything other than welcomed. I will say that Kelly has been very careful to remind people to use hand sanitizer when they enter, and has been very careful in following state guidelines about returns. She was also limiting the number of people in the store at any given time to ensure everyone had plenty of space to shop safely. I guess I can see how some people might take offense at these policies, but my opinion is that Kelly is just following state rules. And, as a shopper, I really, really appreciate her care and diligence. It makes me feel very safe in her store as I know how very careful she is. I highly encourage people to check out Thistle Hill. Wow. What a horror show. The other reviews are RIGHT! I recently had a run-in with the owner who wouldn't let me return or even exchange my purchase because I didn't have my receipt. I asked if she could look it up on her computer and she looked at me like I was from an unknown planet. She was unbelievably mean/rude to me and threatened to call the police if I kept asking her to accept the item for an exchange. I would expect a store with such fine merchandise to also have a very fine person running the place. It is truly a shame not to mention disappointing and downright disgusting to have to encounter such a miserable person, while in a boutique surrounded by beauty. I went to Concord and had a great day. I went into this shop thinking how adorable the clothes and bedding were. My 21 year old daughter and I were shopping and were interested in purchasing some of the clothes. The owner was so unhelpful and rude. We put down the clothes that we had tried on and planned on buying and took our business elsewhere. I do not know why simple kindness and customer service is out the window. For the price of clothing you can go somewhere better where they treat you with respect. read more

I absolutely love this shop! I've been shopping here for years. Kelly, the owner, has a great eye and does an amazing job of curating an exceptional collection of women's clothing and accessories. I've gotten all of my favorite pieces here. While the store moving to Concord has made it harder for me to just stop by, Kelly has been kind enough to make suggestions over the phone and pull clothing for me. Unbelievably Horrible customer service. When I tried to return something after 6 days, they refused to take back a very expensive bag that was still in packaging and unused. The salesperson threatened to call the police when I suggested that we do an exchange instead. Insanity. I have never EVER experienced customer service this bad. I will never go back. No one should! Ugh. Where to begin? All I can say is don't. Just don't. I purchased over $500 worth of clothes here -- on sale. Hence, buyer beware, this place is uber expensive. I wore one of the dresses I purchased to a dinner party exactly 2-days after I purchased it. Someone at the dinner party noticed that the collar was unraveling. I looked in the mirror and indeed it was. I took the dress back to Thistle Hill on the following business day, expecting an apology and a store credit for the cost of the dress. Guess what? Instead of what I was expecting, I was instead verbally attacked and I was accused of "catching the dress," on some earrings." I wasn't wearing any earrings when I put the dress on! I mean, really. The owner was clearly not going to do anything to offer me compensation, except to agree to give me $25 toward getting the collar repaired. I'm not sure it's repairable -- the fabric is unraveling! I paid $180 for the dress (on sale)! That's a very expensive 20-minutes worth of wear, let me tell you. I advise you to shop elsewhere. This pains me to say, as I'm a strong believer in shopping locally and I practice what I preach. However, Thistle Hill does not stand behind what they sell, the owner has a real attitude (see reviews for her previous Thistle Hill store in Rockport -- I'm not the only one who thinks this), and the owner actually accused me of "threatening her," when I told her I was going to post reviews of my experience at her store on the internet. I mean, who died and made her queen? Do yourself a favor and order the brands she carries (CP Shades, Graf & Lanz, etc.), on the internet. Even if on sale, you'll be able to return. It's stores like this one that make people go to the internet in the first place and it's unfortunate. I wanted to give this place my business, but the way I was treated makes it impossible for me to do so. I feel violated and ripped off and the owner could have cared less. Buyer beware. Great big buyer beware. Should something be defective, you have one choice and that's to eat your purchase. This store is not geared toward good customer service. Not by a long shot. Go across the street to French Lessons if you want a brick and mortar experience with good customer service. Similar price point and similar styles without the attitude. read more

Thistle Hill is so wonderfully curated with such personal attention to detail. The owner was kind and friendly. She told us the background of each piece we tried on. I was in a sling and took a long time to try on my items, but she was so patient and understanding, even though the store was busy. Spent just under $2000 days ago and have bought clothes here before to support a local company. I will not shop here again after a bad experience today with lack of disclosure on returns and exchanges---an actual refusal to exchange (not return) the bedding I bought several days ago for a different color. COVID is not a good reason when something is wrapped, still in the bag and absolutely unused. AN EXCHANGE NOT A RTURN!!!!!!Had planned to make a trip today to Concord but with this news instead bought linens from Matouk, another local business. read more
