This place is great! So many draft selections and you can package your own 4/6 pack Togo for bottled and can beer. They serve food and it looks great - we had gelato and it was awesome! Staff is friendly enough and allow you to enjoy yourself but are easily accessible when you need them. They have couches to the left as you walk in and it is very cozy. Food and beer is great. Could have been an off night, but the staff seemed miserable while also talking smack about each other. Where my doubt comes, is that it was an off night, is you could easily sit with an empty glass all night till you say say something. I asked for the steak medium, if it's thin sliced I'll just come back another day because I don't think it will travel. They reassured me it'll be fine. Just say come back!!!! I absolutely love Thistle Draftshop! My wife and I enjoy the atmosphere and the incredible selection of rotating taps. The tacos are amazing, and we always pair them with an order of French fries, which are always just the perfect amount of crispy. We moved here from Austin a year ago, and this place definitely has the vibe that we are used to. It feels trendy and cool without being pretentious. I know that's a weird way to describe a taproom, but if you've been to a lot then you should know what I mean. We like to go when Elton is tending bar because he always makes an effort to get to know the patrons. I highly recommend checking out the Wednesday night special for steaks. They are open again and ready to pour you a drink, so go check em out. read more

The service was okay, servers were nice enough. The ambiance was clean, lively. The wings are $2 a piece and I couldn't even eat them as the skin was soft and not crispy at all. My friend ordered the pork tacos for $14 and they were teeny tiny for the price. read more

I came back this weekend to try Thistle Draftshop in a different way. I was the first one there for lunch. I had the new Smitty's Braut with truffle fries. The brat is a good one, in a different way that most. The bratwurst is locally made. It has less salt that most brats, which lets the beer braising flavor come through. It is also softer than most--you won't get the same "snap" as a store-bought Johnsonville, but that's OK if you are not expecting it. The truffle fries were wonderful, even better than last time if that's possible. The fries were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, with a great rich flavor. Their garlic aoli complements the fries perfectly, no ketchup required. The last time I went was with a party of eight with kids. I don't think the bar service works well with that kind of party, but if you're on your own or with a small group it's great. Since I was the only one there I got a lot of individual attention. Definitely a place that will stay on my radar. read more

Great concept. Unfortunately, not many options for non drinking customers. No sodas, Sparkling water, not any ice? There is a gas station next door. If you're out, grab a bag. "Sorry, there is no solution". Really? It's 91°outside. Here is the official response. "there is no need to have ice". We'll here is a reason. Excluding customers who now will not come back. If you want arrogant snubs, and poor Customer service and mediocre food, come on in. Otherwise enjoy other establishments that have plenty of draft beer nearby. Food was great, honestly it's much better than the prices which is a rare find. The bartenders are also super knowledgeable about the selection, mine asked what liked drinking and made a great suggestion for what they had on tap. Everything was totally a 5 star, but the service at the bar top was incredibly slow, which is the reason it dropped down to 4. Doesn't change, this will be a place I return to. I dig the decor and atmosphere. It's close to home and they source local. My experiences have been generally good. It has been sorta mixed good and not so good each time we've been, so far. The first time we went to Thistle we had good service by a friendly bartenders, but the fries were greasy. I'm not sure if they weren't drained well or if the oil wasn't hot enough, but I couldn't eat them. The second time we went to Thistle the food was good, but the service was lacking and the bartenders weren't very friendly. This is a perfect spot to grab a beer after work or meet up with friends in the evening. The bar seats almost 30, plus tables and it looks like they can roll up the doors when the weather gets a little warmer. Great beer selection (60+ on tap, plus 50+ bottles/cans) and food is delicious. They've only been open about a week so the menu is still changing regularly but it's all delicious. Interesting selection of beer...especially mead and cider. Service was spotty at best and they forgot part of our order. No apology or rush to correct it. No asking if we wanted another drink. My burger looked good, but was super salty and I had removed the pickles that were also super salty before taking a bite. Regular fries were good and the shining star of the meal were the truffle fries...but the meal was pretty shot by then. Grilled cheese was good but had to remove the bacon as it was soggy and chewy. The tomato soup was boiling hot and bitter. Had high hopes going in, but looks and service were deceiving. Were running a tab and getting the bill was challenging - no one (including the Mgr) asked us how our food was. Disappointed and won't be back. read more

This place is pretty cute and a chill place to grab a beer. I opted for cider out of their fridge as their on tap menu was a little overwhelming for me. It is kinda strange as other people have mentioned that its basically like self service as you have to walk up to the bar to order every drink, but it is what it is.
