We are on the road over the holidays and being a member of the Omaha Squad I thought you might find…read moreinformation on a very different Reuben Sandwich to be of interest. Being a relative local to Tomball, TX for many years we have watched Molly's go through plenty of tribulations, fires and all sorts of calamities but it has continued to grow into being one of our most favorite locations for lunch, a large choice of adult beverages on tap doesn't hurt, either. Molly's offers some very unusual and tasty sandwiches and one of my favorite is their personal spin on the Reuben, which they carry too. It's called...wait for it, drum roll..."Molly's Reuben" and it is sincerely worth a try. They make several changes to the normal ingredients but the biggest game changer is their use of a beer cheese sauce versus the Swiss cheese. It imparts a very rich and more of a smokey taste versus that of the Swiss. A true delight. So if you are ever cruising down Business 249 in Tomball, TX, swing on in to Molly's for a respite that I am certain you will enjoy. Peace out.

Molly's Pub used to be a good bar, but over time it has become filled with unnecessary drama. The…read moremanager was kind and caring, but many times it seemed like she didn't know how to handle certain situations. She hired some great employees who brought in customers, but one of her later hires was questionable. That former employee now seems to have the power to get almost anyone banned, even though she's the one who caused many of the problems. I don't understand why someone who no longer bartends there would still have the authority to decide who can and can't be at the bar. I have nothing against the owners personally, but I don't understand why they would allow a former employee to influence who is welcome in their establishment. Don't get me wrong--every bar has some drama. However, I've never seen or heard of drama like what goes on at Molly's in Tomball. The manager was sweet and caring, but she often brought personal issues into the workplace, making it difficult for some employees to do their jobs. She would even yell at employees in front of customers. A good manager should address those situations privately, such as in the office or away from guests, not by the kitchen doors where everyone can hear. If you're looking for a place with constant drama, kids running around, good bartenders being fired, former employees deciding who can and can't come in, bartenders allegedly getting high, taking shots on the patio, and lying to management about it, then this may be the place for you. Those issues also seemed to contribute to customers being over-served, property being damaged, and problems with the karaoke DJs. Law enforcement is there almost every weekend, and the bathrooms frequently smell like a sewer. This is just my personal experience and opinion.

But when I bellied up to the bar, the bartenders made me feel like I was Norm or Cliff from "Cheers". It felt like I had always belonged in this establishment. Crazy, huh? It just proves how out-going & friendly the bartenders are. Besides friendly bartenders & good liquor, what really surprised me was the food. The Golden Retriever's burger is one of the best burgers that I ever tasted. Forget those family-style burger restaurants, come to the Golden Retriever for some delicious food. Almost forgot, the live entertainment was good also. Give this place a try.

You step inside and transition from strip mall to an authentic British pub! Lots of great local and British beers. The menu is limited, but well prepared pub food. The only thing missing is a proper fish and chips. Service was very helpful and attentive without being annoying. We immediately felt at home. There are dart boards and pool tables and great little seating alcoves to hang out. One note, Golden Retriever does allow smoking. It didn't bother us as we sat in a different part of the pub.

It's actually a pretty cool place that is larger than it looks from the outside. There are numerous rooms, sitting areas, bars and places to lounge, and drink. One drawback for me was smoking which is still allowed inside, but it wasn't very strong at least. I was able to sit on the patio since it was a nice day outside. They serve hot food, which is a plus with more than typical bar food, like Shepherds Pie. Prices are reasonable, crowd is friendly, bartenders are nice. What more can you ask for?

Use to be a solid four star joint about ten years ago…read more I recently went back to ocp and Molly Maguire's on kuykendahl and was severely disappointed. 2 stars at best. Staff is cliquey, talks to each other rather than getting your order. One bartender would rather flirt with her boyfriends than close out my tab. Kayla robinson was specifically horrible at taking my order and then padding my tab. If you like an extra shot or two added to your tab, that you never drank, this is the joint. Funny thing was I would've tipped her extra if she needed the cash. Food is horrible do not eat the blue cheese burgers, they almost killed me. I'm apprehensive to how long the gree/blue cheese has been in the fridge. Also the taps taste dirty especially the Guinness tap, on top of that the makers mark always, always tasted watered down. P.s. the pool tables all need to be reworked. Amon needs to vet his people better. There were some people like John that lived for the job, then the youngsters could care less if they accidentally serve you ice they broke.

It's $22 for a 12 oz ribeye or $5 more for a 16 oz. You pick it up yourself at the grill using a pager system similar to Fuddruckers. 2 sides come with the meal and the mashed potatoes don't have any gravy I was told by the server. Took a long while to get the food even though it was pretty empty inside. Over 35 minutes wait. Steak was actually well seasoned and much more tender than Ale & Ivy. They even cooked it to the right temperature which was a plus as I was not expecting much. Mac and cheese was alright. The grilled Zucchini and cucumber were in long strips and seasoned. I would've gotten a double portion of that over the Mac and cheese. Waitress seemed nice but I didn't ever see her. She was running the entire inside from the looks of it. Lots of wood paneling inside. TVs on every wall. And a large patio deck. Mostly an older crowd which I actually prefer. They have a Ruben that's supposed to be good according to reviews. Might have to try that if there's a next time. Also daily lunch specials except Friday which is steak night. I think Wednesday is too.
