I'm rating a six, because thermal shield was very professional and timely and they did what they said they would do. Nick, the owner, is very professional. When I called, he gave me a rundown of various prices that would likely be estimated for adding insulation to our attic, Depending on the amount of insulation I wanted. He then provided a written estimate via email. What I really appreciated, as I was considering his business along with other insulation companies, he followed up with a call in about a week and asked if I was interested in using his company. It was not a high-pressure call, rather a follow through which benefited him as well as me. It benefited him because I decided to use his company, since he was willing to follow up and adjust the estimate according to my needs. Nick was flexible, because he offered a special where in he was going to put some insulation over the attic, but I didn't need that. So he just offered to put that insulation in with the rest of the attic insulation give me about 1 inch more. So all in all I have about 40 inches of insulation. We haven't spent a summer in our home yet, and I know the air-conditioning did cycle prior to adding insulation, but I'm assuming AC will run more efficiently, having done this before in another house. Bottom line, I just like a business that's willing to follow up and has a professional aire about it. At least they acted like they wanted your business. I recommend thermal shield, and would use them again if I need any additional services. read more

The field sales rep Caden is friendly enough, but there are some opportunities that are present they need to work on. First, keep your appointment times. We had 3 different promised times of arrival in one day. And don't blame this on COVID....COVID ain't got anything to do with punctuality. I have yet to be delayed going anywhere myself due to "covid." 'Sorry I'm late to the party bro; this pandemic just got me moving slow,' said no one, ever. Second, clean up your mess when you're finished. I get that blown insulation is a bit messy, but for gods sake don't use a leaf blower to clean up the jobsite. There was literally insulation dust everydamn where in the garage, all over my vehicle, my tools, the freaking mini fridge after their install crew left---because they used a leaf blower. Bottom line, USE A VACUUM. Other than that, I suppose the new insulation is making a change to the heat rejection, but it IS November-ish now, so there's that. read more

Wayne was great. They came out to give me a free consultation and quoted me what I felt was a fair price. SRP rebates included. Another company I called said they charge $79 (which they will put towards service). They also quoted me $1900 over the phone since I didn't want to pay a fee for them to come out. Thermosheild came out about a week ago to blow insulation and seal areas in my attic that were open to the outside. I can already tell a difference and hopefully my electric bill goes way down! read more

We called APS for an energy audit when I was getting closer to our due date with our baby. I had an internal freak out knowing that we were coming into summer and it is really hard to keep our home cool. It is okay for adults but I didn't want to have that with a brand new baby. APS directed us to a different company at first but they couldn't get me in until August, so I requested a new company because that would be far to late. Nick gave me a call that day, I explained my situation and he was able to get me in for the audit the next week. I received nothing but genuine care and overall helpfulness from the guy who came and did the audit to Wayne and Wayne who came out and did the work. They were timely, always gave a curiosity call to let me know when they were on their way and even put up with our dogs excessive barking the entire time they were here (sorry again guys). I am so happy the other company did not work out because as soon as the audit came back Nick and I worked through what would be best for what we were trying to achieve, a lower bill but a cooler house. I did have to leave for work after the Wayne and Wayne got here to do the work for the day. I just asked if they could give me a 30 minutes heads up when they were about to be done so I could come back and lock up the house. Again, they were awesome, walked me through what they did and I could instantly feel a difference! I am very impressed with the work that they did and the ease of the entire process. I am definitely feeling much better about our little one getting here in July and how simple it was. I highly recommend!!!! read more

Our estimator was truly knowledgeable and was the one to really inspect our attic, with pictures showing me things I've never seen in my attic. He was the reason we went with Thermo Shield. The 2 guys that did the blow-in insulation were right on time at 6am. I've got to say that they were friendly and really worked their butts off, blowing in 107 bags over existing insulation. They also installed dams around the 3 access covers getting into the attic. They did a great job, and we are very happy with the work done. I would highly recommend this company. read more

Great customer service with affordable prices. We had about 7 inches if cellulose blown in. They came out quick to give a quote, gave me a Veteran's discount, and had us scheduled a few days later. They arrived on time and were mindful about not making a mess. Our attic access is in the master closet so they had to run the hose from the driveway all the way through the house. They put plastic down for the hose to lay on and covered our closet in plastic so nothing would get dusty. Afterwards they vacuumed what little mess was made. Caden was the second person to come out to our home. He spent over an hour trying to trouble shoot the noisy rattling pipes. They were going to add insulation to stop the noise. We ended up finding where the noise was coming from. Ended up not being loose pipes and then I called in a plumber to fix the problem. read more

All customer experiences are different, and mine with Thermoshield was not that great. Upon requesting a consultation, they did show up on time and at the appointment provided some options. I went with installation of cellulose, but was not provided information upfront that I feel this company's rep should have provided around attic sealing. After the insulation was installed, enormous amount of dust entered the house. Thermoshield did come back, and then found my air intake platform was not sealed, allowing attic air into the living area. Again, something that I feel a company that specializes in energy efficiency should know about and check upfront. They then came back to seal and clean my ductwork, to find mounds of dust still left in the ductwork making it actually more dusty from all the crap left in the ducts. I since then hired another insulation company that came and was honest with me upfront, to remove everything Thermoshield did and start over with spray foam since the attic was never sealed. I also had to get all the ductwork re-cleaned and the ductwork cleaning crew that came over said they didn't remove all dust back to core and did a poor job (and Thermoshield charged me for this 'clean' job). If you're out shopping for companies, I'd recommend to keep looking. Again, all experiences are different. I just feel this company could've done more upfront to provide me with clearer pros/cons especially with an unsealed attic and open intake platform. To me, they wanted in/out and overcharge for the job. read more

Nick didn't try to oversell us, and he explained everything in an easy to understand manner. Prompt responses to my email inquiries. Very reasonable pricing. We got about 12" of the blown-in attic insulation, done by Caden and Daniel, who were very courteous, explained what they would be doing, and finished up in the timeframe they estimated. I first got in touch with Thermo Shield back in February of 2021. They came to my house, took measurements and emailed me an estimate. From that time, until a week ago, I had sent at least 15 emails with questions and requests for updates on estimate. I sent at least 30 texts in that time frame. I have an 80% gas furnace and I needed to figure out the best/safest way to have a foam insulated attic while still getting combustible air for the winter if I needed to turn on the heat. I did a lot of reading online and asked people in different industries for their opinion. I finally pulled the plug and had my attic done the week before Memorial Day weekend, 2022. Nick was super patient with me over that 1+ year period, answering every question and not pressuring me or making me feel like I was bothering him with so many questions. He gave me a fair deal and took care of the follow-up to minor things with removal of my cellulose insulation and adding foam. The solution for the gas furnace was to run a duct from the furnace area to and through the foam wall separating the conditioned attic from the attic above the garage. When the furnace isn't in use, I just cover it with a piece of insulation to keep the heat out and remove in the winter if I need to run the furnace. After the foam was done I had concerns about leakage in the ductwork and Caden came and did a duct pressure test, with great results, a tightly sealed envelope. In the past 12 yrs since I got a new dual stage AC & duct system, on hot days like today, I'd come home and it would be 78 degrees. I would try to cool it down to 76, but it wouldn't get there until after dark, around 9pm. Sometimes the house warmed up to 79. It was just too hot in the attic and the air in the ducts wouldn't be cold. That's not fun when you've been working all day and get home around 6:00 and have to spend the next 3 hours with a warm house. Today, it got up to 108 outside. I came home, it was 78, I set it to 76 and in 35 minutes the house cooled to 76! On days that aren't as hot, I can tel my AC is not even kicking into 2nd stage. I'm looking forward to the end of the summer to do a comparison. Additionally, I can see all the wiring in my attic which will make it easy for me to do the work I want to do and I've already seen less dust in the house because there's no more cellulose in the attic. Nick & Caden were awesome and so was Dom (did the foam). I 100% recommend Thermo Shield. They are super professional and do quality work. One note, depending on your house, it may take closer to a week for the smell to dissipate. I was able to be in my house about 5 hrs after the attic was foamed, but it took a week to 10 days to wear I couldn't smell the foam. If you're going to get your attic done I would recommend doing it in a cooler part of the year so that you can open your windows to air out the house quicker. I now set my thermostat to 1-3 degrees cooler at different times of the day, and my AC responds easily, and my bills are cheaper than last year. My most expensive bill this summer is $75 less than last years most expensive bill! read more

Nick, Ben, Jonathon, and Caden were exceptional. I looked at 4 or 5 different energy companies and I am so glad I selected ThermoShield. I had another popular company do an energy audit for me, but it was all about the add-ons, and the guy worried about his commission. That company gave me a bulk rate for the work to be done, not itemized. I turned to Nick, and it was totally professional, and I saved over $3000 for this project. The idea behind an energy audit is to get each of the registers and return(s) in your home to get as close to the number 0 as possible after insulation completion.. Nick did that with great fiberglass and foam insulation (on duct work and electrical parts in the attic). ThermoShield prices were quite fair, but more importantly, the work was done by its proud employees who wanted me to check all details of their work. I spent several hours getting estimates for blown in attic insulation and decided on Nick with Thermo Shield LLC. Nick had the lowest estimate of the companies I called. My house had some blown in insulation which amounted to about 5 inches and patchy at best. Nick's estimate consisted of R40 blown in insulation and a lifetime warranty "(if not disrupted or changed by someone else)". His estimate also included a senior/military and multiple home discounts. With all the discounts and great pricing in the first place, it was only slightly above what it would cost me to do it myself and I didn't have to spend 2 hours in a hot attic. His crew Daniel, Caden and Caedon did an excellent job in the attic and when done, cleaned up the mess perfectly. Nick also gave me a follow call which is something you don't get much anymore. I would definitely use him again for the following reasons. 1. Great price and warranty. 2. The insulation was very good quality. 3. The crew that did the work was very professional, polite, their workmanship was excellent and they cleaned up after themselves. Also this was Nick's crew and not a subcontracted crew. 4.
