After talking to four or five firms, Milton from Izzy's insulation reached out to me and made the most practical recommendation based on my unique situation. We ended up going with a blown in fiberglass insulation of R 38 and 13 inches. His price was the best by a few bucks, but I particularly liked his practical recommendations, and so ended up using him. He booked me out a week later and showed up exactly on time and had the job done in just a couple hours. He even provided me with before and after pictures that I can use when I submit my taxes for an energy tax credit. Very straightforward and honest service I recommend if you're looking for installation to talk to him at least. As it ended up the insulation did basically nothing to help with the temperature in my garage. If others are looking to do the same thing, I tell you to look at a combination of insulation for your ceiling, walls if needed, and the inside of your garage door these metal garage doors really radiate a lot of heat into the garage.

I was resigned to getting a response in the morning until lo and behold my phone rang with caller ID showing Ideal Air Conditioning. It was 9pm. I couldn't believe it! And it was an actual person on the line when I picked up. I can't remember her name but she was empathetic and helpful. Before I knew it she had scheduled a service person to come in the morning between 8 and noon. What a relief! The service person got to my condo around 9:30 just before I had to head to work so I left my credit card info with her and entrusted my roommate to oversee the repairs. By 11am I got a call at work informing me that the AC was up and running again with the repair costing me just over $1500, which included a $300 service plan that I thought made sense and was a good idea for continued maintenance. He did not move and instead doubled down the next time he was out and used both trucks to block the sidewalk. No considerate of others. In response to the company's reasoning, I disagree, I have lived in this community since April 2000 in 3 different homes including on that street and it is first of all is not a thoroughfare and has very little traffic but regardless is wide enough for him to park on the roll up curb or even park 1 car length further up to allow pedestrians and vehicles to both pass safely. There are work trucks parking on that street everyday and none of them were parked so far onto the sidewalk that they impede pedestrians walking by safely. There was also ample room in the homeowners driveway to park further back and not block the sidewalk. Obviously, you're more interested in arguing with me on a public forum than the neighbors you serve. But I have 2 small dogs on a walk and it was already 95 degrees at 9am - the asphalt is 20+ degrees hotter than the sidewalk and it was burning their feet. I'm sorry your tech is too lazy to walk 10 addl feet than inconvenience the neighbors. The bottom line is sidewalks are for people not for vehicles.

We decided it was time to take advantage of the SRP rebates to add insulation to the attic of our…read moreolder home. We got estimates from the three highest rated companies. Thermo S and another company's estimates came back close but with very different approaches to cooling down a bedroom that was always hot. In the end, we decided Thermo's solution sounded more logical. In the end we went with Thermo S because of Caden's expertise with duct work. He recommended duct sealing and adding an extra vent in addition to insulation. Day of, the team showed up on time, did the work efficiently, and cleaned up their mess. The difference was instant. The air felt cooler coming out of the ducts, the A/C comes on less, the hot bedroom is cooler, and the house is quieter. I do have bad allergies/chemical sensitivities and the duct sealing was rough but after 3-4 days the smell faded and it's been fine. I would say communication with the office could have been better but they always returned calls the same day. All and all a very positive experience--I would highly recommend Thermo-S.
