I felt like I was receiving a home cooked meal prepared with care by a family, not a staff! Highly recommend the cauliflower appetizer, even if you are not a fan of the veggie. It was delicious! We placed two orders! Pair it with several baskets of garlic na'an and you are set. We got a variety of delicious dishes each custom made to each person's desired level of spice. Level 3 is pretty spicy as a reference for your choice. The ambiance was basic, but very clean. They do have a bar and private room for special occasions. Service was fast and very courteous. I felt the prices were very fairly charged. Ready to break out of the same old thing for dinner? Visit Peppers in Jamestown.

My newest food fixation is the Sesame Cauliflower from Peppers in Jamestown. I cannot stop thinking…read moreabout it. The perfectly cooked soft center, the crisp exterior, and the sticky ssssaaaaauce it's covered in... It's savory and heavy enough to be a meal but I was being generous and decided to share the appetizer with my spouse. They do offer a spice scale and they don't hold back. I foolishly tried the spice level 3 (out of 5 being the hottest) and should have chosen a 2 spice level. But the cauli was so good I fought through the pain. Worth it. I could have easily stopped there but we also ordered the garlic naan (also yessssss) as well as the Lamb Korma and Chicken Vindaloo. Both those entrees were delicious but the Korma really stood out to me. The rich and creamy sauce was very unique to my pallet and when I returned, I ordered the Chicken Korma. Clearly I love a good sauce. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, very spacious and would be great for groups or a romantic dinner for 2 (or 3 if you are into that sort of thing). The service was excellent and our server was patient when we ask questions about the menu. Fortunately, a lot of the dishes have descriptions on the menu so you have a good idea of what you are ordering. Looking forward to returning to Peppers again .... for the cauliflower... and the naan....

In general the place was basically clean. The servers were speedy and brought drinks and silverware quickly. Refills came quick and buffet plates were removed swiftly. Four of us got buffet and two ordered from the menu. The menu orders seemed to take a long time. The salad bar was the old fashioned kind with all the old fashioned fixin's. The hot food was plentiful but I can't say that the quality was especially wonderful. It was good but not great. Some things were not salted and others were overly salty. The flounder were especially fishy and flounder is not fishy fish. The dessert was grocery store leftovers. The "cobblers" were goop. And they only had vanilla ice cream in the machine (maybe on purpose). All in all, the experience was lacking. It wasn't awful but I certainly was hoping for better.

Everything was not as fresh as it could have been. The chicken and broccoli was probably the most tender chicken I've ever had. The sesame balls were good. (not something I've ever seen at a China buffet restaurant before). I was not a fan of their crab Rangoon. Yeah, was more like cream cheese, than crab. The spring rolls were good. Sweet-and-sour chicken was a little on the tough side. The green beans were good. They did have sushi choices. We did not try any of them. Dessert choices looked good. Also they offer a salad bar. Our waiter was very attentive. The atmosphere was typical of a Chinese buffet. We still would go back again.

And honestly, the atmosphere alone puts it above some of the other Korean all-you-can-eat spots in the Triad. In the words of my lovely husband, "This place doesn't feel like an Applebee's." We had kimchee, bean sprouts, broccoli, tomato and cucumber, and some kind of fish...whatever they were they were tasty. My husband ordered prawns. They brought them to the table raw and seasoned to be cooked on the metal platter in the center of the table. I got chicken that was already prepared and again so yummy! Both meals came with salad and rice and every table received the appetizers. I will say the price is on the upper end, but it is well worth the price because it was so good. There were families with children and everybody seemed to be enjoying their meal as much as we did!

I threw the suggestion out to Sally and she thought it would be fun to try something new so she picked me up, we got on Gate City Boulevard and drove west until we found this place in a small strip mall. The outside won't necessarily draw your attention, but once you step inside this simple takeout/ dine in spot, the experience is totally different. As soon as we walked in we were approached by a gentleman who must have been the owner. He was incredibly kind and appreciative of our patronage. He explained all the dishes and a little bit about the company itself. This guy was full of pride about Seafood Destiny and I was impressed. Besides dining inside, they offer takeout and catering services. He was particularly proud of some of his dishes and when he told me that the crab legs was a special tonight for $20, I knew that was the best fit for me. You pay at the counter after you choose your selection and then have a seat and wait for your food to arrive. We were the only ones in the restaurant, although I did see a few people pop in for takeout. I could not help but wonder with it being so empty whether the great reviews would match up to what they claimed. I got my Diet Coke from the fountain machine with unlimited refills which always makes me happy. After chatting for a while with Sally, this huge plate came my way. The crab legs special for $20 was amazing. Not only did it have plenty of crab legs, but it came with a half-dozen beautiful shrimp with excellent seasoning, turkey sausage, corn on the cob and delicious scalloped potatoes. I ordered a side of asparagus. Although it was tasty. I don't know if the asparagus was worth $5. On the other hand, the main dish was a real bargain!! The food was delicious. Sally ordered salmon with pasta and loved her dish as well. I just ate and ate and ate and ate and eventually devoured the entire dish. Boy, that was good. No doggy bag here! We were each served a special dipping sauce from the Seafood Destiny. It was sweet and tasty but I was happy to just devour the fish as is. It was well seasoned and scrumptious While we were eating, a young man came out to chat with us. Something told me he was the son of the owner or he was indeed the manager or both lol. We had a nice chat about the place and it's history and he really appreciated our visit and hoped we would spread the word. I will! We arrived at 6:30 and before we knew it it was 8:00 and the place was beginning to close. I devoured my last crab leg, got a refill on my diet Coke and we headed out. Both Sally and I discussed on the way home what a delicious meal that was, how lovely the owners and staff were and what a shame that there not more people in the restaurant. I am hoping that was a fluke on a Tuesday night because Seafood Destiny definitely deserves customers. The place was simple, but the welcoming staff, the good priced seafood meals, the plentiful portions, and most of all, seeing the incredible pride and love the owners put into this place made it a winning combination for me I'm always a big fan of family owned operations and Seafood Destiny deserves your patronage. Whether it's shellfish or salmon or grouper, I highly recommend you head over to this place. As unassuming as it is on the outside, the inside was a delicious and welcoming experience!. I will be back and I hope to see you there!

Overall, between the amazing food, solid drinks, and fantastic atmosphere, this place is a gem. I'll definitely be back!

While it's a relatively impressive looking storefront in a rundown and half empty shopping center, I have always had great experiences with the food. Items are prepared fast, fresh, and always taste great. From working here, I know that many of the items on the menu are made fresh in a house (eggrolls, chicken teriyaki appetizers, sauces, etc.) and you can tell from the fresh quality. Like many restaurants at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, China City closed their storefront and transitioned to a strictly takeout or delivery model. Granted, before that happened, it was extremely rare to see somebody dine in and there's has always really been a to-go establishment. I recall a time when there used to be a buffet, but it was never busy enough to maintain. Recently, they have reopened the storefront and put out a couple of tables for inside dining and you can actually walk inside to pick up your food from the counter again, and it's nice to have that interaction with the owners which has been missing for years! To get in line with modern times, it would be nice to have online ordering as an option, but I've never had difficulties placing a telephone order and the food is always prepared very quickly.

I am not really sure what spice level they ended up serving me -- they seemed to want to serve me medium, but the spice was completely imperceptible. Definitely not hot as requested. Potentially mild. The food was flavorful, tasty even, but not even a whisper of heat. That was disappointing. To put things in perspective -- I'd say a slice of pepperoni pizza with a few red pepper flakes sprinkled would be spicier. The chana masala was also SUPER oily. I'm not sure if that's normal for them or not -- no matter how many times I stirred it, around 1/4 cup or more of straight oil kept separating out. Beautiful restaurant, clean, quiet, with tasty enough food, but they majorly failed on delivering heat, which is one of the main things I enjoy in Indian food. I am not sure if they typically serve the mildest Indian food on the planet, or if they didn't think I could handle what I ordered, but regardless, I don't see myself choosing to return here.
