Not sure on how i feel about this restaurant, it is bigger than I thought , they offer buffet from 12 to 3pm we got there around 5pm or so and was greeted right away and seated the place was empty not one other customer inside they did have a few take out orders but that was it So let's start with Crab Rangoon 8 out of 10 taste goods Fried pork wontons 7 out of 10 the wonton was nice and crispy and have a decent flavor. But did not go with the sauce that they gave you would work better with a garlic or teriyaki sauce instead Orange chicken with fried rice and a egg roll 8.5 out of 10 You can taste the orange zest on it ,nice and crispy chicken will eat it again . Boneless BBQ ribs with beef fried rice with extra egg and a egg roll 6 out of 10 The rice was the saving factor in this dish the boneless ribs gave me a beef jerky taste and feel to it the bbq sauce was not it as well the eggs rolls was not bad Garlic beef with vegetables and fried rice 8 out of 10 Had a great taste some snap peas, which we love added steam, broccoli but we got white rice instead of the fried rice but I did not make a big deal out of it ,tasted good so no complaints The service was great ,the restaurant looks good inside , must of the food was good not the best but still good I think I will give it another shot down the line but something just make me not want to go back but maybe I was just not having a great day or something you be the judge when you come and try for yourself, I think next time I'm going to try the duck

Round one- cheese wonton, spring roll with pork filling, assorted chicken dishes

I would rank this place a 3.5 if that was an option. This is our first time at a buffet since covid began and it feels somehow very naughty! They are taking precautions and have gloves available as well as masks. The food was all pretty good, not exceptional and not bad, pretty much as expected for Chinese buffet fare. It's a relatively small selection compared to other buffets but I didn't miss anything- all your usual staples are here. This is one of the only buffet options open these days and it was a fun experience to be back in one however it did seem that a good amount of the food had been sitting out and was not at its best. But if you have that buffet itch this can definitely give it a scratch!

After the lunch rush. The buffet is still ok

We were in clemmons and I decided to give this place a try. We came in around 14:30, so not the best time to come to a buffet since the lunch crowd has left and they are winding down. The selection was was sparse, but they very kindly offered to cook anything I asked for. I felt the customer service was very professional and nice. I need to come back during lunch time and and try out the buffet when it is at it's tops. It's a little out of the way but way bigger than it looks on the outside. Seems like a good place to bring a group of friends and have a good dinner.

There's a fine line you have to walk if you want to be a tasty Chinese buffet. People like variety, but they also like food to be fresh. Most people come to buffets because they want a variety of tastes, but not so many that they could never try everything, or would even want to. I think Mandarin has found the perfect balance of these things... and on my first visit last week, I was treated to a really nice selection of chinese dishes without all the fluff of things like sub-par pizza, spaghetti, and all the other crap larger buffets plop down to claim they have more stuff than anyone. What I got was a nice chinese meal. A good variety of proteins were available, along with rice, noodles, all your favorite fried apps like egg rolls and rangoons, a couple soups, and then a light selection of sweets for dessert. All of it was fresh, and the price was very right. The highlight here was a spicy thai chili chicken. Think of a spicier and crispier version of General Tso chicken. The chunks are smaller, but have a firm shell texture and a little spice to go with the sweet. Also, the shrimp in their seafood dishes were a really good size, and jalapeno pepper beef was awesome. Definitely going to come back here. Don't let the outdated shopping center dissuade you, count on the experience of a place that has been around this long!

Odd pink spots on chicken in the chow mein.

Underwhelmed would be an understatement in this case. I ordered scallion chicken (decidedly not crispy), chicken chow mein, curry chicken, chicken with hot garlic sauce, pork spring rolls, and crab rangoons. The crab rangoons were a no show, the chow mein was an odd watery chicken with cabbage and some really thick fried bread-like "noodles" with several pieces of oddly pinkish chicken, and the others had combinations of veggies I've never seen in the dishes at other restaurants. This was my first time eating here in about three years, so I'm not really sure what's happened. The reviews and previous experiences didn't line up with the reality of this visit.

This place may look small but don't let it fool you! Spacious on the inside and owner is very nice. They only offer lunch buffet from 11-3. IMO it's better than Tin Tin. Their food has more depth and flavor although not as much selection as Tin Tin but it's more than enough. Price is reasonable.

    Hunan Shrimp

I had Hunan shrimp with no green pepper or water chestnuts and it was excellent The plate was served hot with a liquid sauce that means the wok was hot

    Boneless duck was excellent.

The food was just not good. The beef in my pepper beef was bland and the fried rice was greasy. Don't think we will be back.

I've had take out from here several times, and until very recently the food was decent. I'd had the Black Pepper Chicken several times, and it was a dish that I liked, and this is a dish I order whenever I can find it in a menu - it is a bit rare. But things have certainly changed - definitely in the kitchen, maybe in ownership as well. The last three dishes I've tried here - Mongolian Beef, Crispy Beef, and Black Pepper Chicken on this visit - were smothered in shiny, sweet brown sauce, and there were far too many superfluous vegetables. All three dishes were rubbish! Needless to say I'll not be returning.

Their pork fried rice is incredible! They don't skimp on portions at all. They use large chunks of pork in the rice, so you can actually taste it, and it's so good. The General Tso's chicken is spiced to perfection. My absolute FAVORITE though, is the teriyaki chicken skewers. I've never tasted anything so wonderful in my life. I could go there and only eat those and be more than happy. Egg rolls are always on point too. I always eat too much because it's so yummy, but it never makes me feel awful afterwards like some takeout does. The only thing I've tried that I didn't love was the chicken wings. Overall I just can't rave enough about this place!

I usually get the combo plates that include an entree, egg roll and rice. Today, I have been battling a cold and cough and some wonton soup sounded perfect to sooth my throat. The rest of my family ordered some different dishes for themselves. We ordered online and I sent my son to pick everything up which only took 20 min. The wonton soup had so many wontons in it I split it into three servings. They also give you the fried wonton strips to sprinkle on top if you like that. The portions on all the other food were also big. Mr. Lus doesn't skimp there. We all had plenty for lunch the next day. The service is always fast, reliable and friendly. There is no dining room. All the items chosen were good, with the Fried Shrimp and the Mongolian Beef proving to be very, very good! Mongolian Beef is a favorite Chinese American dish. Despite the name, it was developed in Taiwan before coming to the USA, an been very popular, especially as a take out item. The version served here is among the best, nearly as good as the best in the area, that served at Jade Garden in Advance. The dish here adheres to the straight forward simplicity of processing quality beef, onions, and peppers well seasoned with a soy based sauce. The fried shrimp are small, fresh tasting, and well breaded and well seasoned. This isn't an item often thought of when considering Chinese American appetizer, but I would suggest you consider it , especially when a bit of hot mustard or Chinese hot sauce is added. I have tried at least a dozen items here, and there have only been a couple I would not reorder. The sipped with which your order is prepared is a definite plus, usually you are out in under 15 minutes.

I ordered 2 lunch specials at $8.55 - Scallion Chicken and Beef in Garlic Sauce. Each came with Egg Fried Rice, Egg Drop Soup, and 2 small Spring Rolls. The Scallion Chicken was not a bad dish, but neither did it reach the level of a good dish. Why is it so hard for Chinese American restaurants to cook Scallion Chicken in a manner that does not result in gobs of gooey? And who decided that that particular cut of carrot was the right one for stir fries it is almost always overcooked! The Beef in Garlic Sauce was simply a flavorless mess, loaded with extraneous vegetables, including the particularly awful baby corn. I have had this dish at Jade Garden and China House, and both were very tasty! The baby corn is,in fact, regular corn that is picked while the corn is still immature, and has not yet developed the sweet corn taste most folks love - in fact, it has no flavor. It is loaded into stir fry dishes in Chinese American restaurants to make the dish seem larger. While it is used in China, it is not a staple. Most such corn is used in Thai, Indo-Chinese, or Chinese American dishes, mainly stir-fries. Most of the world supply comes from Thailand, and it is either canned or frozen, rarely if ever is it fresh. The Egg Drop Soup was very under seasoned, and the Spring Rolls needed a good amount of hot mustard. I may try some other items here, but certainly not these two!
