(not something I've ever seen at a China buffet restaurant before). I was not a fan of their crab Rangoon. Yeah, was more like cream cheese, than crab. The spring rolls were good. Sweet-and-sour chicken was a little on the tough side. The green beans were good. They did have sushi choices. We did not try any of them. Dessert choices looked good. Also they offer a salad bar. Used to be a good buffet, but the last two times I have been the quality and service have slipped. The first time was during the lunch rush, when you would expect the food to turn over fast, but a lot of the dishes tasted old, as if they had cooked an hour or two ahead and sat on the counter before being brought out. The sushi also tasted old with the some of the rice crusty. I didn't see the usual sushi chef I was used to. A lot of the dishes I liked were hot but still tasted old. The second visit was at 2:30 and I expected some of the dishes to be old since it's an off hour. But it was worse than expected. Crusty sauces. Old and soggy fried foods. Just bad. Worse, the sushi was ancient. It had been made hours before and all the rice on the rolls hard. I would have enjoyed the nigiri, but he wasn't making any. The chef was just standing there looking around. I pointed out that helge plate was empty, but when I returned the plate was still empty. Every time I went here, about every other month, I always saw the same sushi chef and unbelievably he always remembered me. Went for lunch to get a to go plate which is suppose to be $6.99. However, while looking at the screen I noticed that she charged me $7.99 which is for the dinner buffet. So I mentioned this to the young girl and she said oh! It's because you had this and she's pointing at the filet fried shrimp and coconut shrimp or something like that and I asked her so how would I know that I couldn't get that and that it was an extra charge. She comes around to try to point something out on the paper which it still does not state any seafood or shrimp or whatever is an additional dollar charge per pound so another lady comes over there and she's telling her what's going on and I said how would I know? How would I know that there's an additional charge and not to get that if it's not stated anywhere? You would think if something's on the bar you can get what's on the bar. Like I've been to other places and if you're getting crab legs you know it's extra because they state it's extra. So eventually the woman takes it off. So all in all I'm just saying just be careful if you are getting the to go buffet because they're tacking on an extra dollar per pound. It's okay if there's an additional charge just let the people know. Otherwise it's a get over. Food was subpar. read more

You should stay away from this restaurant for a number of reasons. The first reason is that the food is not authentic. The restaurant is managed by Asians but all the food is cooked by Mexicans. During lunch time, loud Tejano music was blasting in the restaurant from a cheap radio at the sushi counter. Sorry but the ambiance sucks. The food is horrible. Observation...when a Chinese restaurant doesn't have Asian customers, that's usually a red flag. No matter what time I've visited in the past, the meat for many of the chicken dishes came from bad parts (gristles, etc.), is old, and covered with heavy sauce to mask the problems. I've also noticed that the cashiers will cheat you if they suspect you're not paying attention. I was upset that I was charged for a tip the last time I was there. Especially since I had take out and on the copy I signed for, I made sure that I didn't offer one. I saw the problem once I got home. Although I wasn't happy, I figured I'd give the restaurant one last time a few months later. The results? The food was even worst and a different cashier charged me with dinner prices even though it was early lunch time. After being cheated twice, I'm guessing this isn't an accident and I don't have the patients to argue over a few dollars. I highly suggest you avoid this place. read more

I was craving Asian buffet for a long while, and they cravings were definitely satisfied at China Buffet. It was super busy, and a little chaotic, hinting at this place's popularity among the locals. The variety of dishes was impressive, with a mix of classic favorites like sesame Chicken, Mongolian Beef, chicken and broccoli, alongside seafood options like flounder, clams and crawfish just to name a few. The dessert selections were mediocre. The flavors were typical of buffets like this, as not everything was a winner and some dishes were not seasoned well and some dishes were only luke warm. The staff replenished the food quickly when they were running low. One of the highlights was the made-to-order stir-fry and soup noodle station, where you can customize your own dish with a wide range of vegetables and proteins. There was also a limited sushi selection which was surprisingly good for a buffet. The service was great and they cleared used plates quickly, and drinks were refilled without needing to ask. This is my third visit over the last several months, all around the noon meal time. The crowd was not large and very friendly with little issues with carrying on a conversation. The groups was hungry though and this caused many empty or near empty pans of food. And those with food were not hot. While the food was tasty, it would have been better if it was hot. I do enjoy their Sesame Chicken and get a little serving with each plate. The salad veggies were fresh and very tasty. I just wish they would turn up the heat on the various hot bars. The restaurant is very clean, and the servers are extremely attentive. For me, the options were not as fresh or tasty as I would expect, and as I've experienced that other Asian buffets in the area. The sushi options, even considering the fact that it is a Chinese buffet rather than a Japanese buffet, were still extremely limited. Every single option was imitation crab, with no options for fresh real seafood. The General Tso's chicken was just OK as were the egg rolls - just tough overcooked or over fried pieces. I love going here if I'm craving for seafood and real crabs. I also love their sesame balls and ice cream. Wide selection of food items. You'll get your money's worth if you know what to splurge on eating in a buffet restaurant. I came here recently with my wife to get lunch and upon entering greeted by a friendly and professional staff member immediately brought us to our table. The entire restaurant was very clean tables and chairs. The food was all fresh and a great variety of items available. Hot food, cold salad bar and dessert. My favorites were the sesame, chicken, Korean chicken, yellow vegetable fried rice . Everything tasted great and was not bland. They also have a variety of sushi which was obviously made fresh and tasted very good. The guy making the sushi was very friendly upon entering that area and asked if we had any questions about anything. Exiting the restaurant we had a thank you from the hostess on our way out. We were staying at the nearby Fairfield Inn when we noticed all the cars at China Buffet and decided to try it out. The intricately carved cork artwork in China Buffet could easily be overlooked if you were really hungry and focused on the food. I liked that there was a nice mix of people and noticeably 3-4 tables of Asian customers. The food was a nice mix of Chinese-American options, Sushi, and Mongolian BBQ style grill. I was pleasantly surprised by some very Chinese dishes that I didn't expect to see at a Chinese buffet. I liked that there was a buffet attendant that monitored the food that was out. If I could give negative stars I would. First red flag the restaurant was freezing cold. I was hungry and new to the area and wanted Chinese. I hit the buffet and loaded up my plate with what looked pretty decent food. Wow was I wrong!!! Every single thing I got was ice cold. When soup has no steam you know there's a problem. Pushed that plate away and figured I would try the hibachi and it would be hot and fresh. Totally wrong. Yes they cooked it in front of me but when I left I was horribly sick. They apparently don't keep things at the proper temperature. When I told my server he walked away and did nothing. I had been craving multiple types of Chinese food, so I decided to pick up a friend and go to a chinese buffet. I felt overwhelmed by the number of people once we walked in and should have left right then. We stayed, though, and were seated quickly. It is lovely decor, but that was all the ambiance I could enjoy. Trying to get food felt like it was an Olympic sport, dodging kids and trying to get the good seafood before it was gone. It was an impossible task. People piled multiple plates at once with crab legs, leaving the rest of us with sad, salty, little leftover pieces. Everything was dirty and in disarray. I felt bad for the staff. It felt like they had given up trying to keep things clean or replace food, dishes, and silverware, and i don't blame them. Most of the food looked steaming hot, but by the time you doged and weaved your way back to the table, it was ice cold and soggy. The only good things were the hibachi rice and the butter shrimp. However, I will say I did not make a plate of raw food to be cooked like some others did, and I should have because everything else was just disappointing. This is why I have left three stars instead of one. Because they do have a fresh food option, but I felt too overwhelmed to make it and wait for my food to be cooked in the midst of the hustle and bustle. I just wanted to get out of there. I have not been to a buffet in at least 3 years, and now I remember why. I won't be back. I'll preface this review by saying I've not been to a Chinese buffet since 2018, and all I could remember was "meh food but it was all you could eat." Also, I'm reviewing this place as what it is, which is not P.F. Chang's or an eatery in Macao, Honk Kong, or Guangzhou. The Bad: The booth tables are weirdly tall. Not unusable or even uncomfortable to use, but as soon as I sat down, I knew my seat was short or the table was tall. It might have just been where I was sitting, but take that for what it's worth. The Good: The selection! Lawdy lawdy, it's huge! I posted some photos. I tried to post some videos but can't. There's the same fare you'd expect, such as orange chicken and fried rice, and of course the dessert and salad tables. But there are also other selections such as steamed flounder, which was so delicious. Nothing I had was bad, actually, and I quite enjoyed the food I had. Sushi. To be fair, it's as good as any typical Japanese restaurant you might go to. Plus, they will whip you up something special if you ask. Nice! Hibachi. There are 4 meat selections (beef, pork, shrimp, and faux crab) plus noodles, peppers, and such. There are also several sauce options posted on the glass where they cook your food. Just let them know what you want. Service. Not more than 5 minutes went by at any time before the server was back around, making sure we were good. My husband and I have a quarterly date night at this place- he LOVES the squid salad. I am not one for seafood, but I enjoy the hibachi bar. It's a great way to balance out the Chinese food! I don't know about you, but Chinese food can feel a little heavy. The hibachi bar is a great way to add some fresh veggies to the meal and balance it out. But of course, I had to finish dinner with a small plate of desert. The service is quick and the prices are reasonable for having a buffet, sushi bar, and hibachi bar. This place can get real busy! But they get you in pretty quickly. It can get very loud. But the food is good. I loved buffets, but I always get so full on my first plate. So I would comeback to try some of their other foods. Their sushi is really tasty. And there's some food out that can be a hit or a miss. But I over all, had a good time! The staff was friendly. Stopped in here today after our adventure to Battleground Park. They have such a large variery, hibachi grill and Ramen bowl area. Their sushi was so fresh! Price's have increased considerably since the last time I was here but great food non the less. Our waitress was very attentive. Probably the best I've visited based on the diversity of food offered, the amount and preparation as well as the cleanliness of the venue. Staying at the hotel across the street, it was an easy walk to get lunch. Prices are reasonable. They had a nice selection of sushi as well as a hibachi. I started with the peel-your-own shrimp which was a decent size and wasn't overboiled. Plenty of seafood choices including mussels, clams and shrimp as well as surimi. The rest room was very clean. The staff were using gloves and masks the entire visit. There was always someone to monitor the hot tables ensuring the food was full and the area was clean. Quite impressive. read more

We've eaten here a number of times, and generally the food has been solid to pretty good. That changed drastically at lunch this week. This is a broad buffet, probably 75+ items, definitely a 2 plate trip - Fried Chicken Wings, Pepper Steak, Lo Mein, Korean Chicken, Black Pepper Chicken, and much, much more. We walked in about 11:45, were quickly seated, and soon on our way to the large buffet line. I loaded up, as is my want, and carried 2 full plates back to the table. Went during dinner time. The crab legs are boiled then frozen and served when they are thawed, so they're cold. I personally do not like my seafood cold other than oysters. No seasoning on them whatsoever and no butter available. The meat of the crab was not the best quality. The seafood boil (crawfish, sausage, corn, potatoes) was seasoned nicely, I only picked up the corn though so I cannot speak for anything else. I enjoyed the gyoza and ponzu sauce, they weren't super noteworthy but definitely the best dish I had at the buffet. Tried some of the calamari, do not get it. The lo mein was average, green beans were good. Chef's special chicken was the best chicken dish I picked out, out of the five or so meats that I tried. Don't get the Korean chicken though. Paid $50 for two people, I would say you get what you pay for but my local buffet in SC is $30 for two people and their crab is surprisingly really good. Service was average, again nothing noteworthy. The interior is huge and spacious, moody lighting. The tables at the booths are too tall, but that's probably a me problem. read more
