It's a buffet...so 4.5 stars...but in my opinion, the best buffet in the High Point/Greensboro area! Understand the assignment - show up hungry! We're a big China Buffet fan and this will definitely be our new spot when we have the crave. Full on buffet - everything from classic Chinese takeout staples, seafood, hibachi, Korean, soups, sushi, dessert, and a classic American food side the kids will love. The food is very good for a buffet, the service was great, the atmosphere is clean and modern and there were staff members walking around the buffet aisles with headsets communicating when food needed to come out. I noticed that I ate a lot more food than I usually do at other buffets and felt 10x better walking out. I've wondered if there's significant MSG added at other places that cause you to feel stuffed after eating a smaller amount than you'd expect. That's not the case here at all. We had dinner at The Yummy Buffet & Grill in High Point last night. I give this Chinese buffet 3.5 stars. I can see why folks rated it 4 and even 5 stars -- this restaurant is certainly good and decent for the area, but at the end of the day, it's cheap-quality, average-tasting food. At $22.99 per adult at dinner, Friday-Sunday, what do you expect? Since yesterday was a Monday, they charged me the weekday adult dinner rate of $20.99 and my parents got the senior rate at $18.99 each. For the sheer variety of food - including sushi (sashimi, nigiri, rolls), clams, crab, abalone, at least a couple different types of cooked fish (turbot, golden pompano) Korean short ribs (LA galbi), chicken feet, frog legs, snails, and steak - this is not a bad deal, especially compared to bigger cities where this kind of pricing would be unheard of. The Yummy Buffet opened in early August 2025. For over five years, this building sat vacant after China King Super Buffet closed in 2020 during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our family - my dad, in particular - ate at China King a lot. I'm glad Yummy Buffet has popped up in its place, with a more modernized look and expanded sushi offering. Last night, the freshness and quality of some of the items were questionable. I wonder what they do with all the leftover chicken feet, pig's trotters, etc. that were barely eaten. I hate to report that one of the sushi chefs did not wash his hands when he was in the restroom the same time as me. On the bright side, I always saw him wearing gloves when he was handling food. This is one of the buffet with better quality of foods The location was a bit far - we drove 35 min to get there but it was worth the drive. All on weekends. We've been there 3 times in about a month. bbq bar - my fav is the bbq pineapple. Very good. Hot foods - lots of selection - including duck , steamed fish , crabs , crawfish, frog legs. And all other usual buffet selection. Dim sum - they do change week over week which is nuce - steamed dumplings, chives dumplings. My fav - chicken claw. Pork feet. Hard to find in other places. Salad bar - cold shrimp and other seafood selections. Sushi - all the common rolls , periodically, broiled eel, and other seafoods. Dessert includes ice cream. I stopped by here on my way to the furniture market. It was good and only $10. I wanted to have protein and fresh vegetables, something more well rounded than a fast food restaurant. It's conveniently located near hpu. To go plates are weighed at the register. Checkout was was easy. I enjoyed the sushi and it was being need fresh. Families were enjoying meals there. Went to this place when it first opened haven't been back. My daughter and her fiancé joined me. We were excited to have a buffet in HP again. We were surprised on price. Turned out to be a $80+bill. They have many options for meat and sides as well as soups and desserts. We went around 6pm some of the food was hard and old in the steamers had to wait a few minutes for fresh. The sushi bar was pretty extensive. The place was very clean except bathrooms they were not taken care of. The lady that served us kept taking plates away as we tried different things. Some were good, others salty, some bland... depends on what you like? Not wowed. The buffet interior has been updated with brighter lights and the food looked fresh and was delicious. Sushi, Chinese food, grilled food, seafood and American food. My favorite chicken was the orange chicken. The staff seemed to be consistent going to tables and tending the buffet food items and cleanliness. Took my father tonight to try this for dinner. The regular food was good, but nothing special. The sashimi was well sliced, fresh, and tasty. The sushi was Ok, except the rice didn't taste good. I could see it being made fresh, and the fish was fine, but the rice just tasted weird. Our favorite thing was the lobster soup. Both of us had two bowls and enjoyed it, though I didn't see any lobster in it. What ruined the experience was the price! I read several reviews before finally trying The Yummy Buffet. Some were good and some were bad. I went at 2:30 pm my first time. The price was $15.99 plus the drink. Food was good. Some had been out for a while. An overall good experience. Second visit was 8:30 pm. Price was higher put the drink was included. At that time they did not replenish the food.
