I checked in the other day. Brian was a great and helpful bartender. Food did taste on the fresher side. Cons: Tried to BS about a proper Guinness pour. There is a Youtube video from the Master Brewer at Guinness on how to proper pour. Even the man being trained tried to convince me the way they did it was correct. I even looked it up to verify again. The younger Girl and a Guy preparing food in back were EATING at the Grill and prep table while making everyones food. They didnt even seem to try and hide it. I was excited about the waffle fries that came with my burger. When I tasted them, I was let down immediately. They had that right-out-of-the-frozen-food-section taste and quality to them. Not a big fan. Additionally, the buns on my burger were dry and big -- not the ideal patty-to-bun ratio I prefer. The rest of the burger wasn't bad. There was an OK selection of beers and refills were free (on soda, not beer). The ambiance wasn't bad; there was a 'regulars' vibe to it. Go anywhere where else besides here. I don't give bad reviews. I thought about this for 2 days after going there before posting this. This is the worst service I've gotten ever. Had to stop and ask the servers while they were walking by for everything: a seat, a menu, order beer, and order food. We waited almost 30minutes before asking to order food. 5 groups of people who were seated after us were served food and left before we even got our food. Beer was flat, under poured with tons of foam, and the pizza was subpar. The four of us in my group all agree this is the worst service we ever had. When we asked for to go boxes for our two large pizzas the guy brought us styrofoam togo boxes even though he saw the pizzas we had, like come one. We even had to ask for the bill after that and he walked by 3 times before we had to stop him to give him our payment. Go anywhere else besides here. read more

Overall I had a great first experience here. The bartenders are friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and the locals were friendly as well. There are a few TV's with sports playing. There's a jukebox too. I ordered a hot chocolate and my friend ordered pulled pork sliders with onion rings. We shared the meal. The food was great, and for the price, it wasn't bad at all. Pros: Good service and friendly bartenders Oversized import beers on tap for $6.50 Appetizers were good (wings, poppers, etc.) Cons: The place is too small inside. The seats at tables had zero back support, just benches. Pizza was OK but not great. Not enough sauce, cheese and dough taste were kinda bland. But it was served piping hot, and the dough was fluffy at least. $20 for a 3-topping 16-inch pizza. read more

Character is the first word that comes to mind after a visit to The Yodeler. After a long day hike to Mt. Baden-Powel, we opted to eat at the Yodeler after reading all the positive yelps. The exterior facade reminded me of Santa's Village with a candy cane decorated tree, Christmas lights and other adornments. The outside patio was filled with various locals -- young and old. The interior has typical darkwood bar tables. Clearly, we were from out of town, but we were greeted warmly. We ordered at the bar, and they brought out our food to us in the patio. The bar offered a decent variety of beers on tap and bottled. The garlic bread was crunchy and not drenched in butter. The pizza was delicious and served piping hot. The crust was thin and crisp. Service was casual which suits the mood of the place. (My only concern was watching one of the servers and maybe the cook taking a cigarette break on the patio while our food was cooking, but I left it was part of the restaurant's personality.) Wrightwood offers a small number of dining options. So glad that the Yodeler is one of them! read more

Really went down the crapper years ago! I first visited in the mid 70's and it was great. I went there for years and saw it gradually go downhill. This decade it's become a joke! Way overpriced and lousy food! Their pizza used to be great, now it's lame. Their burgers were fantastic and now you need a magnifying glass to see them. Their beer prices have gone through the ceiling as well! The clientele has always been "unique", but in recent years it's really gone downhill and the rudeness of the patrons has followed the general downturn in courtesy and consideration for others. If I want rowdy, I go to the Raccoon Saloon across the street. That place makes no excuses about the patronage and I accept that. The "Yodeler" is nothing to yodel about! read more

Came here had a drink and than had friends meet us. Ate dinner and came back ... Put money in the juke box and than the tvs went loud and the owner after we spent money on food,drinks and the owner shut off the music. Common old town courtesy is to let the music play or give back your money. Didn't understand his attitude if he doesn't need our business..Get small town however you can watch sports as Tom stated and listen to music and treat customers equal. Awesome neighborhood bar! Came here to watch the UCLA v USC game and came to find that the owner is also a fellow Bruin! He literally made my night because when UCLA won he played the fight song over the speakers. Thanks for that! My husband and I shared the steak dinner which was to die for! You wouldn't necessarily expect the food at this somewhat of a dive bar to be that great, but it realy was. The meal started with a delicious Italian salad, homemade garlic bread and then the steak came with a stuffed baked potato that I can't exactly explain, you just have to get it! The meal was about $20 something dollars, but was big enough to share between the two of us. The steak was huge! I wanted a Kentucky Mule (same as a Moscow Mule but with bourbon instead of vodka) and they didn't have ginger beer. The owner said he could do something similar with bitters and soda water, and I think he did a great job! I ordered the makeshift Kentucky Mule all night! The only reason I'd give it a 3 star is because service wasnt exactly great, and the bathrooms were pretty ghetto, but we got the Beetles nest drink which was pretty good, a little pricey for what it is but not bad and the poutine which was definitely not made from scratch and not exactly a traditional poutine but not bad either . Had the Big Yodeler hamburger....very tasty...and the fries were amazing...and the soda was cold..The front of the establishment was absolutely disgusting.... cigarette butts littered every corner of the buildings....YUCK!!!!! .What concerned me the most was the male bartender......The dude went out to have a cigarette...right outside the entrance to the eatery, mind you...and when he came back in...Guy didn't even wash hands......I was flabbergasted.... Absolutely aghast...The female...was lovely... We had to ask for them again after 45 minutes of waiting and on top of that the food came out wrong so that was disappointing. We even had to ask them for simple plates.
