Tiz said don't judge a book by its cover, well don't judge a place by the parking lot. you wanna enjoy a laid back atmosphere, here's your place where all walks of life get along (on most nights, lol) , those who go here, wish to enjoy themselves & have a fun. it's better then Cheer's & as always respect those who are bartending, politeness goes along way. & is notorious for being a cool place to beat the summer heat. & don't be offended if oneself is cut off & served water or coffee (is free of charge for patron's, Folger's) ) this is their job, they do follow laws. They do not serve food, they do let you order food & have it delivered, no out side beverages. (Advised to ask if you intend to bring in food, non delivery, chances are they'll say ok.) Point blank if you want to enjoy going out & have fun, this is a little hole in the wall with great employees. Treat them kindly & respectful they'll be respectful back, even if there's a barback (bartender in training) they do get busy. restrooms. I know the women's rest room is usually clean (99.5%). The men's & unisex (handicap accessible), I don't use them, so I can't rate them. read more

If you love meeting new friendly people , playing pool and karaoke come on WEDNESDAYS & SUNDAYS. I haven't ordered food from here so I can't comment on that . Between the inconsistent service and a new crowd, it has things that need to be addressed Like the services and prices seem to be based on the bartenders who are almost post lockdown hires and their mood If it's favorable and they like you things are good but if they don't things are slow and expensive and the drink quality takes a dive .... and it all changes day to day the other thing is the crowd seems to be more stoner based than before and some even seem to be there just to sell their possibly illegal wares outback on the patio a few I've seen just have them out in the open the owner needs to address a few issues so it can get back to being an ice place read more

I'm writing this from the point of view of a band. My band, Crinoline, played there last night and it was a really good experience. We drove up from Los Angeles, and it was well worth the trip. Carlos, the booker, was very accommodating. He was actually there, so if you deal with him, ask for him. Sound's like a given, but we've played at many clubs where the contact person was nowhere around. He told us originally that he had two 30 minute slots available (10:30 and 11:30). Since it's a long way to drive for only 30 minutes, plus we have enough original songs to play for 2 hours, we asked him if we could have both slots and play for an hour. He agreed. No hemming or hawing. He was also very fair with our compensation. Nick, the sound person, was good. The PA is for vocals only, but it served us and the room well. He didn't rush us as we set up our equipment. I might suggest that the bass drum get mic'd, though. One drawback is that there is no stage, but that's not a deal breaker for us, plus it puts us closer to the audience. The fact that there is a big free parking lot makes load it very easy. It was our first time there and we felt very welcome by the regulars and the staff. Not to be disrespectful, but there were some people in the parking lot that were a bit, er . . . um . . . "street smart", but it wasn't worrisome. Just keep your wits about you, don't leave your equipment unattended, and keep your car locked. (But, I could say that about any place, couldn't I?) We hope to become regular performers there. read more

Terrible service. Have to wait forever for their waitress Desiree to give you a drink and when you do she has a terrible attitude. This place is a dump. And when they have bands they are terrible and so loud you can't even enjoy yourself or with anybody your with because you can't hear anything. read more

So... Where do I begin? When I got there I sat up at the bar and luckily I sat next to some nice people on both sides of me. But when I was dropped off there by my cousin (I live out of town and was visiting for the holiday) she warned me that this was a bad area and that once I get inside the bar to make sure I didn't go outside. Whaaaat? Ok. I hear later that drug dealers and etc. hang out around there. The place is definitely a dive bar, and the majority of the people who hang out here seem to be a little sketchy (I hope I don't get retaliated on for saying that). I was there on ladies night which is 1/2 price drinks for women (yippee) and it was karaoke night (awesome!) the bartender was really friendly, but my main complaint is that when I would finish a drink she would automatic give me a new one, which some people would think of as thoughtful but she did it all night and I kept thinking, "What if I didn't want another drink?" or wanted to switch to something else, you know? Ultimately I had a good time but this one lady was drunk throughout the night and kept making high pitched sounds which were very, very annoying. I even said something to the bartender about it but she seemed to be friends with her and didn't do anything about it. Anyway, this woman got very drunk and ended up passing out on the floor. Rather than calling her a cab home and getting her out of there they allowed her to lay on the floor and just put chairs around her as if to "cone" her off. She literally laid there for the rest of the night. I feel bad cause I tried to get her water and get her to sit down but after she passed out on the floor nobody seemed to care. I feel bad for saying all this cause I actually had fun. Would I go back? Honestly... I'm not so sure. read more

I'm finally reviewing this joint having lived in the Antelope Valley (or the A/V as the locals call it) for the last year. Of all the dive bars I've been to in the area, I like this one the best. Obviously, the main reason to go to these hole-in-the-wall places is for their lax smoking rules. To actually go to a bar in Southern California and be able to drink and SMOKE and interact with your fellow man & lady without having to brave the weather. Bah! If I wanted to go outside & socialize, I'd stay home and yell at kids to stay the hell off my lawn. But I digress... this place fancies itself as a British pub, though there's hardly any actual Queen's English being spoken here. They have the obligatory jukebox, darts and pool tables, as well as regular DJ's and karaoke on select nights. The one night I was there, I swear the karaoke host was Ron Jeremy's lost twin. Dunno if that's a good thing or not... They've also got multiple t.v.'s as well to view sports and whatever else. The barmaids are friendly enough and mix a mean drink. Tip them well, and they'll keep 'em flowing for you until last call. Good place to hang with a group and chill, or else engage in some drunken conversation with a new best friend. Plus if you need some comfort food to fill your belly & soak the booze up, there's a McDonald's and IHOP nearby. I give their White Russians/ambiance 8-painted toes out of ten. read more

I would be really careful about going here. It seems like it could be a fun 'dive' bar but in all honesty it goes beyond dive to just be a dump. I didn't feel safe or comfortable here. The slot machines are really noisy, and everyone in the place seems very tired and worn down by life. The parking lot is congested because it shared with a few other businesses. read more

The Locals are friendly once they get to know you. I met my co-workers there one day after work and the owner bought us our first Round of drinks plus gave us a free Supor Bowl t-shirt. We had a blast! The front room can get smokey but I like the back room by the dart boards and the patio. Good selection of beers at good prices. All the bartenders have been female and friendly. read more

Yvonne is an incredible bartender. Best bloody Mary in town. Friendly and wants to know your name. It's a dive bar but the atmosphere is great. It's worth killing a couple of hours here, if for nothing else the service and the bloody Mary. read more

I GIVE THIS PLACE A THUMBS DOWN AND NO STARS BUT IF IT MAKES ME RATE IT (it does), THEN 1 IT WILL GET. "JUST BECAUSE OF THE BARTENDER" The bartender screams and yells at people in an INAPPROPRIATE manner. I know if your kicking someone out, you gotta kick them out. But otherwise the WAY you do it reflects the business and the owner. This guy outside tried to ask me money to pay for a taxi to get back home. His taxi had just left when I got there, so I told him to call another taxi and come get me, He then went to go ask some guy inside for a ride. (I would have given the money to either the taxi or the guy inside the bar. NOT the man) The bartender started screaming at him to get out. I tried to calm her down from all that yelling because that was completely not right the way she was treating people. Ialso wanted to ask her a question and a request so that I can help this guy, but MAN this lady just started yelling at me and continues screaming at him to leave and then turns to me to scream at me and because I'm trying to calm her down she tells me "YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE, YOU NEED TO LEAVE!" I explained to her that her behavior was inappropriate and I need a manager. She states (really screams) "I am the manager!" when I ask for the owner. I didn't get an answer out of her. It was my birthday and man to be treated with bad service can tick a customer off on any other day. BUT ON YOUR BIRTHDAY?!?!?!?!? man. She asks me why did I come there. I told her I wanted to play pool but because I wasn't going to buy drinks she wanted me out too. All this happened within 5 minutes. Service is horrible, I guess it's what the owners and the workers do to a business to make it look good or look bad. read more

What's this? A dive bar in Lancaster? I'm shocked! In all seriousness, this place isn't bad. It's a "British Pub" dressed up as a dive bar. The whole place is pretty beat. They do have a decent sized bar, two pool tables and dart boards. There's even occasional live music, which is hard to come by in the area. Not a terrible place, and not that you should expect much on that side of town, just lower your expectations and you'll be alright. read more

The Britisher has good drink prices and some good live music, started to get all excited about the karaoke but.... Not sure about it. They now have karaoke several times a week as well. If it's not crowded you can expect to get served in the order that you sign up. If it's busy the karaoke list seems to go by the favorites maybe? But bartenders are good and they have pretzels. read more

I went to the Britisher bar this past Saturday night (March 2011) with one of my best friends.. I asked the bartender girl for a glass of water & she charged me $2.50. Then after I drank the glass of water, I asked her for a free refill & in a REALLY mean, mean, mean nasty way she said "NO". So she first charges me $2.50 for a glass of faucet water & then wont even let me have a free refill of water. She was soooo mean & nasty to me! But the thing is, I didn't even do anything wrong! I was very nice & polite to her! So I dont know why she was being so mean & rude to me for? She was an older lady with blond hair.. read more

I have never given a one star review but this place is worth one. When you first walk into this godawful place a wave of smoke hits your eyes and tears immediately come to your eyes. The bar area is small and cramps; every time someone walks next to you they bump into you. The beer tastes watered down and the bathrooms are atrocious. I guess they found it funny to put a chalkboard in your bathroom where people write lewd comments and think they are funny. They have a couple pool tables and some darts if you like that kind of thing. But all around if your looking for a place that has good drinks and atmosphere, do not come here. read more

This bar opens at 6am, so it gets 4 stars by default. It's laid back, and they have an internet jukebox with every song you can think of, except for jazz tunes. Ask the bartender for a Tequila Mockingbird, a Britisher original which does not contain any tequila. Only weak point, Sean Hannity playing on the TV, and not for ironic reasons. read more

This place has dartboards, pools tables, popcorn and indoor smoking. The bar tenders are really nice. I don't really like where it is located because the bums hang outside and get money from you then walk inside and drink. It's pretty annoying. just standing in there for a couple minutes, makes your clothes smell really bad of cigarettes. If you don't smoke, it'll be pretty hard to stand it. read more

Decided to spend the night out in Lancaster and stumbled on this place randomly. Super glad I did, I had a blast. Bar tenders were super friendly and quick despite the massive crowd. Fun smoking patio too. People there were pretty friendly, I was there by myself and had a great time socializing with the locals. read more

Cool bar with super-cute and ultra-friendly barmaids! They serve up a nice selection of local brewery pints and any booze you choose. Internet jukebox with a great selection of tunes. Met about a dozen locals while imbibing and all were amazingly friendly! Really glad I stumbled into this place. If they had a pinball machine I would never leave. The bartendresses at the britisher are lovely, the atmosphere is homey with a mix of all sorts of people. Pool, darts, live bands, karaoke, smoke deck, pleasant people and entertaining assholes, a classic bar feel with variety and a crowd which is neither all young nor old, and generally down to chill with eachother regardless of generation or style. read more
