    Evergreen cafe in Wrightwood, Ca

My family of 5 went there on Sunday morning (2/1/26) for breakfast. Excellent food. (The chicken fried steak was huge!) Top notch service. We were in and out in about 30 minutes and the restaurant was packed. The valentines day deco added a lot to the ambiance. They also have a model train circling the ceiling! My kids loved the train. We will definitely be back next time we come up the mountain.

Been coming here for years. Great spot to ride your Harley to. Food is amazing, bar is fun, service is good, and the people are friendly. Plus, they've got the best to-go cups in town.

Monte Cristo Sandwich and crispy salty fries

It's been a while since we have been this cafe, but this Monte Cristo never disappoints. Even though it was missing the jalapeño jelly, it was still good. Especially the fries! Hopefully, when we take a drive next time, they will have the jelly. And Our server was extremely nice!

The fish and chips best I have ever tried. The pancakes delicious and fluffy. Stake and egg's plate and grill chicken sandwich was loved by my friends. Strawberry shake and Michelada deli. The service 10/10 made you happy to hear the staff so friendly and polite. A definitely must try!! Food coma guarantee so please plan a light activity after.

Andrea gave our hungry group great service, was very kind and brought our order per our request. Small place but definitely gives it a warm home like feel to it. When we visited it was during October and they had halloween decorations. Our food was good we didn't have any complaints on it! Definitely will visit when in town again.

This is half of a $19 French dip sandwich.

We've been going there for over 20 years and it seems like they have undersized and overpriced themselves now. $20 for an egg and potato breakfast. I guess they haven't realized prices have actually come down .

I really loved this place! Took off a star for the prices aka they are pricey! We spent $60 not including tip for our dinner tonight (2 burgers coleslaw, sweet potato fries) a side of soup and 2 small apple ciders. Most "mountain" cafes are usually just ok, but this one was exceptional. The sweet potato fries esp were cooked perfect with no grease. My only gripe is that they should have some music or something playing in the background, as we could hear the full conversations of the workers having fun and talking about their dating lives, which totally changed the ambiance. Great place and I would totally come back, but maybe would try another place that's a little less expensive.

    Great experience, food, staff, everything!

Wow! What a special place! My grandson and I picked it just because and loved every moment of our experience! Sorry we didn't take pictures of the food, but it looked so good we dove right in. The Montey Cristo and the turkey melt were delicious! The service was fast and the staff was friendly and professional. Great halloween decor and ambiance! Definitely worth the wait and highly recommended

My favorite place to go with my family after skiing or riding the inner tubes down at Snow Fun Park in Wrightwood. This place feels so old timey and cozy! Their decorations really showcase their unique history in the area. Love how it stands out among bland corporate chain diners. Full of locals and tourists alike. The menu was stndard diner fare and we had no complaints! Will definitely be back!

Sometimes on quiet days in town there is a wait because the cashier is also responsible for preparing the food/drinks, but it's always reasonable. The prices are very fair, they do not hit you with the "mountain tax" at all. The drip coffee is tasty and the espresso is good as well! I haven't had the pastries yet but they look good, especially the donuts, and I'm excited to come back and taste them. Today I had the breakfast burrito, the cashier was very helpful and accommodating of some recent dietary restrictions I have developed, and she made me a great burrito! I swapped out the bacon for avocado (not normal for me, but like I said, dietary restrictions) and it was just as good as with bacon! My burrito has avocado, eggs, hash browns and tomatoes, and it was exactly what I needed. Good to note that the only bread option is sourdough, however, it is very tasty homemade and fresh sourdough, which is quite the treat. Unfortunately, not for me today, but I have enjoyed it in the past. I usually get to go and drive up the hill to picnic with a view, but I'm looking forward to eating in one day. That atmosphere is very cozy and calm, both the inside and the patio are nice. Speaking of atmosphere, I was happy to see many pride and pro LGBTQ flags in the restaurant, helping foster a welcoming environment for all. TLDR - 1. Good food , good coffee , very fair prices. Mostly serving sandwiches, pastries, coffee. 2. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere and staff. 3. Big wine selection. 4. Cozy interior or nice patio for Al fresco dining.

The mountain sat there, green…read moreand dry, collecting nothing, and the little village at its base did what mountain towns do in snowless years: it waited. The shops stayed open. The Raccoon Saloon poured drinks. The hikers came instead of the skiers, which is a different energy entirely -- quieter, soberer, less likely to require a boot dryer. You adjust. And you eat at Mexico Lindo, because Mexico Lindo is the kind of restaurant that every small California mountain town has, or should have, or once had before someone replaced it with a gastropub. You know this place. You've been eating at this place your entire life, in different buildings under different names in every town from Big Bear to Idyllwild to Tehachapi. The booths are deep. The menu is laminated and enormous -- four pages, maybe five, covering every permutation of tortilla, protein, cheese, and sauce that the Mexican-American restaurant tradition has produced over the past sixty years. Combo plates with rice and beans. Enchiladas. Burritos. Fajitas that arrive on a sizzling cast iron plate with the requisite theatrics of smoke and noise. A molcajete. A seafood section that the name promises and the menu delivers. A margarita list long enough to suggest that someone here takes tequila seriously, or at least takes the selling of it seriously, which for your purposes amounts to the same thing. This is not the Mexican food that gets written about. Nobody is driving up the 2 from La Cañada to evaluate the mole or compare the tortillas to what you'd find in Oaxaca or even Boyle Heights. That is not the assignment. The assignment, when you are in Wrightwood on a warm weekend that should have been cold, with hiking dust on your boots and nowhere to be, is to sit in a booth and eat a combo plate and drink a margarita and feel the particular comfort of food that isn't trying to impress you. Mexico Lindo is not trying to impress you. It is trying to feed you, which is a different and in some ways more generous ambition. The service is warm and unhurried. The portions are large. They brought a sombrero out for the birthday girl in our group, which is the kind of thing that would be corny if it weren't so obviously sincere, and sincerity is hard to fake when you're placing a giant hat on a stranger's head and getting the whole restaurant to sing. They have Mexican candy shots, which you should order because you are in a mountain town and the rules are different here. Every small town in California needs a Mexico Lindo. Most of them have one. This one is good at being what it is, and what it is -- comforting, familiar, unpretentious, the kind of place that's been copy-and-pasted across the state for decades with minor variations -- is enough. In a winter without snow, in a ski town running on hiking and hope, you could do a lot worse than a booth, a plate, and a margarita the size of your head.

It's the first thing we order and it's something we crave. Breakfast is served all day. At our latest visit, we had a feast. We started with the chips we'd been craving, had the Grilled BLT burger, Classic Eggs Benedict, and finished it all with coconut cream pie and apple pie à la mode. SO GOOD!!
