I vaguely remember my husband ordering a standard breakfast plate of bacon, sausage and eggs, but, I'm telling you right now, the nachos and the Ortega melt were downright GREAT. Our waitress was lovely and very sweet. And the inside of this eatery was home-y, cozy, and quaint. It felt very cozy inside and you wouldn't believe the kindness of the staff. We ordered the veggie wrap, club sandwich, the spaghetti with meat sauce, and the 4 piece fried chicken. They were not lying when they said homemade! Wow! Incredible tasting food. I'm bummed I forgot to take a picture of the spaghetti and also the fried chicken. My plate came out first and the veggie wrap was so good, I just started grubbing. This place is truly a gem and a rare find. Christina and Christian were both so sweet, so professional, and incredibly friendly; it felt like we were regulars. The décor was festive without being over-the-top, making it a perfect little oasis for a midweek lunch escape. I popped in during a weekday lunch hour, and it was pleasantly calm only about four or five tables occupied with couples quietly enjoying their meals. My server was an absolute delight, full of recommendations and zero pressure, trust me, she did not steer me wrong. I went for the pastrami dip sandwich with grilled onions, sweet potato fries, and a side of homemade ranch. Let me just say... wow. The flavors in that sandwich were bold, savory, and perfectly balanced, while the dipping sauce was basically a love letter to my taste buds. The sweet potato fries were golden perfection, and paired with the homemade ranch? Chef's kiss. I've driven past this café countless times on work trips and finally deciding to stop was a stellar choice. Super cute mom and pop cafe. Still decorated for Easter. Super cute decor and vibe. Friendly staff. We came for the French toast but we didn't know they stop serving breakfast at 1pm, we'll be back for that. We ordered the Frisco burger. It was yummy. A big burger on sourdough. The bread was a little too greasy for my taste, but nonetheless it was tasty. Will definitely have to come back to try breakfast. I gave it a solid four for the ambience and attentive staff. I was messing around on bing's "flyover" map feature and I came across this cafe. I sent it to my husband and he said we would be checking out this weekend. So today we went, I knew it was a small cozy place with homey vibes. They had Easter decorations and place had dim lighting. Very comfortable setting. I really liked that about it. Server came to our table right away. He got us menus and took our drink order. After that we placed our food orders. My husband got the French toast combo and I did a sausage breakfast burrito. Food came out fast and portions were a little bigger than I thought. Everything tasted well. Coffee could be stronger and the my serve Pepsi products here. A second server came out, female. She was so kind and asked us if everything was good. She checked in with us a few times. Once we paid, she came back to our table to collect our plates and we made small talk. She suggested other dishes for future visits (meatloaf, chilaquiles, taco night) and she also provided closing times. Super sweet lady. We will definitely be going back do lunch or dinner. read more

We will never blast past again! From the moment we step inside, we are welcomed, comfortable, cozy, happy and served excellent food! Mtn Top Cafe is literally always a holiday. Decorated for Christmas until Valentine's, then Valentine's until Easter, and on and on! We're greeted by the host/ server, who was always there for anything. We felt totally welcome to hang out at our table for for a long while. My sister's eggs Benedict was just as she hoped for. My senior menu Chorizo Burrito was huge and loaded with plenty of great fresh salsa. Hubby's country style senior breakfast was excellent in every way. He commented that the bacon was really good. At the crest of the hill on the 138. Have seen this cafe for years and never stopped in. We stopped in and we were beyond impressed. Quaint decor, friendly staff and great service! We were greeted upon entering and waited on right away. The food! Oh the food! Large portions, great tasting. It's as if you step back in time and I'm sitting at my grandmothers table. I found this place because it was nearby our groups stop right before Phelan! The restaurant has plenty of parking spaces out next to it and it has a nice cabin feel. I came in really believing I would be ordering something from the breakfast menu, but the server recommended the pulled pork sandwich and I regret nothing. Don't be tricked by the picture but it was a massive sandwich and it very filling. Would definitely come again to order it if I'm passing by again. read more

My husband and I just enjoyed the most delicious meal at The Moutain Top Cafe. We walked in to a cozy cabin type venue with old wooden floors and a huge rock fireplace that was for decoration only because it had furniture and decoration in front of it. We were greeted warmly by the manager and chose a table near old antique framed photos of Audrey Hepburn, Elvis and James Dean. The place has beautiful light wood ceilings that lend a rustic feel. I had a club salad that was perfectly prepared and served in a really cool wooden bowl. Beware, it's a generous portion and I could only finish about half of it. The salad was fresh and crisp and had everything from turkey to egg, real bacon and the cilantro added just the right taste to make it a new favorite! Oh and I would be remiss if I left out that it came with the most delicious soft and tasty garlic bread that must have been 2 inches thick. I hated leaving so much behind, but salad doesn't keep well as leftovers go. My husband ordered the cheese burger and fries and he said it was the best he's ever had, and thats saying something! I had to have a taste and he was right, it was thick with a soft fresh bun and seasoned perfectly. It was quite moist considering that he orders his meat well done and I usually like it medium rare. Can't wait to go back there to try their fried chicken or meatloaf or pork chops...they even had liver and onions. Well this is long enough, but I just want to say that the server was very nice and our food came fast and hot. A great find at a fair price. We highly recommend it! read more

Everyone there seemed to know each other, and probably grew up eating there. Food was great, fast service, insanely affordable.
