They were supposed to trim a laurel hedge, but decided to only trim it as far up as they could reach without bothering to do the upper couple of feet. It is a horrible mess. They were supposed to re-gravel the driveway, but, brought such a fine-grade gravel that it was more dust than stones. I spoke about that and Sam Hill, the owner, said "It'll be fine once it rains." NO it's not. Most of the "gravel" blew away. It's a lumpy mess. I had also specified that I wanted the gravel to go all the way out to the edges of the current drive. I even said "I want it wide." Wasn't done. I complained and Sam said, "It looks like a nice, strip up the middle." He said if I wanted it out to the edges, he could write up another bid!!!! I had gone out the day before and weeded and made the edges of the drive very clear. These lazy people didn't even bother to move a trash can that was at the side: they just left it un-graveled. They didn't spread gravel over the entire area that is the turn-around either. You can see where they just put their gravel around in patches when they thought they could get away with leaving the old gravel. They cut a 50-year old lilac down to the ground for no reason at all. Apparently, Sam's parents own a nursery, so he "made it right" by putting 2 inch tall cuttings in its place. I objected because lilacs are very slow growing. Sam said "Oh, no...they grow really fast." NOT TRUE. I then went to a nursery and picked out a 4 foot tall lilac that would still not make up for the towering one that had been destroyed, but would be better than cuttings. Sam said he'd go get it. Well, he must have gone back to mom and dad again. They planted a one foot tall weakling that is now dead. I wanted them to plant something to mask my neighbors fence from view. I said something flowering, like a dogwood or cherry. I expected someone who calls himself a landscaper to know plants; to know what would grow in the space indicated. I babied that tree for months, but...it's now dead, too. So, thousands of dollars went for damage and ignorance and laziness and refusal to repair what they ruined. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.

Shawn White was able to visit our property at the end of the same day between 6-7PM and give an estimate that was more than reasonable. (I had another response 'can visit for quote in 2 days but can't do the job for 2 weeks'). We have a heavily treed lot that needed maintenance and tree removal. Shawn had recommendations for improving the beauty of the lot and for improving the health of the trees. He is a certified arborist with much experience who is not hard sell at all. They are currently working on getting this fixed. Due to that, it took a while for us to finally schedule them for a free estimate. They were late than the planned time we asked them to come in, but it was only an hour late. After getting their free estimate and consulting with others, we decided to move forward with Arbortec. The reason why was because he seemed very knowledgable in what he was doing compared to the others we talked to. Plus, their pricing is super reasonable. Even with how far of a drive they have to make, it didnt affect the final pricing. They came in the next day right in the morning just as they said they would to take down the tree. Wasnt late at all. They did a fantastic job. He said he would get this down in 4 hours and he definitely got it done in 4 hours. Once complete, he said he would come back in 2 weeks to grind the stump. It had been 5 weeks of texts and calls and he finally responded. Keep in mind though that his work phone isnt the best and has noted that it tends to ignore calls. Texts wont send to his phone immediately. Feeling bad about this, he recommended us to another vendor that lives close by and would come by on that day. Overall, we still recommend Arbortec. Just be willing to be patient with them.
