So I decided to use Mint again for landscaping work where I had to install brick and shrubs on my front porch. When they started the project the day of Halloween, the landscapers showed up very early. It only took a few minutes for them to remove the dead shrubs. At first the front porch looked pretty bad because of the bare porch. The next day, landscapers returned to apply more sod and start the brick work. When they laid the brick, my porch started to look more even. The shrubs like blue fescue, lavender, fountain grass and azalea were installed. Once that was done, mulch was applied to the porch and side yard. Everything was basically complete except for a couple boulders to be installed. Unfortunately it did take a couple weeks for it to arrive. I emailed Josh(owner of Mint Landscapes) checking on the status, and the boulder was installed the very next day. Now my front porch looks AMAZING!! My neighbors always compliment me about my porch. I'm extremely happy about the work they did. Although Mint is not the cheapest in the area, they do provide excellent work and are very courteous. I'd highly recommend them. read more

After getting bids from several companies, I was not only happy with the price but also communication from Josh. I had a big project done at a home we just purchased. I was scheduled within a week. I met with Josh not long ago to have an estimate on reviving our backyard. Josh was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable right off the bat. He measured my yard, took soil samples and I felt like he really listened when we discussed my needs, which was a vast improvement over the estimate I had gotten previously from a larger local company. When the estimate came in, we felt that the cost was very fair for the work that needs to be done. While Josh was here and we were talking, he asked me if I had heard of Project Evergreen. I hadn't, and he explained that it's a program where volunteers care for the lawns of deployed service members and disabled veterans. We are an Army family and I was touched by this organization. My husband is away quite a bit and when Josh learned this, he told me that Mint Landscapes would be taking care of my yard for the next few months. I was flabbergasted! His crew has come twice now and they are quick, courteous and incredibly professional. Mowing the lawn can seem like such a menial task, but when you've got two little kids and a spouse who isn't home...it's a weight off of my shoulders and a huge help. Could never get hold of anyone and when they finally called me, they were telling me they were totally booked. I wanted an estimate on revitalizing my front lawn but was told by Shirley that they couldn't mow my mothers lawn(???) because they booked up. My husband and I recently moved to a new home. Not just any home, but the home that was once my moms and where I grew up. My mom passed away last year and I now own her home. She had a green thumb, I do not. I wanted to bring the yard back to life and also minimize future upkeep. I was in touch with another local landscaper to do the work, but never received a call back. I am all about reviews, so I read reviews on every site I could find, everything I read about Mint Landscaping was amazing. Josh came out to do a bid and within a few weeks the crew was out to start the project. A huge undertaking, in my opinion. We had the entire front yard ripped out, leveled, and sod laid. All flower beds weeded and mulched. The entire lower half of our yard is now gravel, with a gravel path on the left hand side. AND a gorgeous retaining wall. OH and everything was pruned. :) I am a perfectionist and it was super important to me that great care be taken when working in my moms yard, I couldn't have handed that responsibility over to just any company. I felt 100% comfortable with Marilyn and Josh's crew being at my house and updating the yard. They did an AMAZING JOB! Their crew kind, super knowledgeable, and hard working! Josh and Jeff even moved our swing for us on the last day. Because their awesome like that! :) I definitely recommend Mint Landscaping and will absolutely be using them again!! If you want a company that has extensive knowledge about every area that they offer, Mint Landscapes, LLC is the right company to call. I had a complicated landscaping job that involved two years of working closely with the City of Lacey for complicated specifications and requirements. Josh was unbelievably patient in providing multiple complicated quotes as the specifications were repeatedly changed on him. We could not break ground until two years after the first visit. He was personable and professional and his team all had the same personal rapport. They go out of their way to make sure that you are happy with the job. The product knowledge is unbelievable and they will recommend the best product based on your needs, instead of what is easiest for the crew. The Mint Landscapes team is reliable, timely and a great with communication. This was not just landscaping. There were several aspects of the job that were way beyond landscaping alone. This was one of our worst experiences with a contractor. Josh assured us that he was competent in "alternative lawn" projects when in fact neither he nor his crew knew the first thing about many of the phases of the installation. His crew had never heard of "mole mesh", which was ordered wrong the first time. It went down hill from there. The saving grace was Jeff who his end of the job which was irrigation systems. He worked with us until we were comfortable with it. We never saw Josh, the owner again. He neither responded to phone calls or texts toward the end. He ordered the wrong soil and told us that he would fix the weed problem with a pre-emergent before planting. It turns out that he didn't do his homework on ground cover plants because any weed killer would also kill everything we were planting. Integrity is the missing ingredient here along with lack of communication. I would never recommend Mint to any of our neighbors who will be following our progress. read more
